I love our local theater. The owners and staff are great people, and do their best to satisfy all movie goers as far as selection goes. People complain about snacks and drinks being over priced, I dont see it. If youve been to a large cinema complex, its $5 for a normal size box of M&Ms, our local theater is priced much better than that. I would say all prices are pretty reasonable. Movie prices are pretty reasonable as well. Honestly though, if you want to see the movie, you pay it either way. I highly encourage locals to come to this theater as opposed to traveling. They offer midnight showings for massive movie releases, like Star Wars or Harry Potter. They offer 2D and 3D showings. Usually week 1 is in 3D and week 2 is in 2D. If its important to you. I honestly hate 3D movies... Anywhere. Just not for me. If I want to see a movie opening weekend I just suck it up. This theater gets a great selection of childrens movies throughout the year and they tend to show "Oscar Movies" during the corresponding season... Typically Oscar season runs from October to January, then between January and February they show the selections that werent widely released until the new year. Typically if you want to see it, they will get it. Check their updated website, Facebook or give them a call.

Its an incredible theatre for two reasons. One: In the summer (at least, when I can make it to the ADK) they have independent films like "An Inconvenient Sequel" and "It Comes At Night." I cant think of any theater in the entire region that runs those kinds of movies. And second, its beyond belief charming - a hidden gem nestled in the farthest reaches of New York State. I have fond memories of seeing War of the Worlds with my brother, and Harry Potter 6 with my future wife. Long live The State.

I love this place. Its inexpensive and I dont need to take out a loan to take my kids to the movies and buy them popcorn. No need to buy tickets online in advance and you can always get a good seat. When I was unsure if seeing a movie in 3D would bother my eyes, they offered to give us a refund if the 3D was problematic. Sure some of the seats are creaky, but with customer service like that, I dont mind one bit.

Its small and old and kinda run down, but its a gem! Joe, the guy who is usually there when we go is a very friendly young guy who handles the theater easily and is very customer oriented. They have current movies and 3D in the lower theater.
