Usually Im all about this place. However Ive just had the worst customer service experience at this establishment. My wife and I pulled up to go in and see a movie at 10:00. The starting time of the movie was 9:45, so granted we were running late. When we, and a few others walked in at 10:00, a very rude man in a green shirt (Im assuming the manager?) told us they "were closed." Another employee there apologized profusely and opened the door for us all to leave. I work in the customer service industry, and if Id have been so rude to customers, Id be fired-- the palace should reevaluate its management and customer service abilities. Im currently heading across town to College Station cinema where I know my business will be appreciated. The tickets will be a bit more expensive, but their theatres are cleaner and the chairs more comfortable. After tonight, we will not be back to the palace.

Cheap movies, if you can wait a month or two--and I sure can, for that price. You may not find THDolby-85.9 Quadro-Phonic-Roto-Rooter-3D-Smellovision-Surround-Sound-IMAX screens here, but the picture & sound are very good as long as youre not hoping for the 3D bells n whistles. They have a good selection of movies that are just a few months out of theaters so unless you have to see it on opening night, Id go here. Also, big kudos to their Late Night Madness events where you get to see some older classics (Fifth Element on the big screen? Welcome back 1998!). I would be careful about picking a seat though--seats are hit or miss, youll either find one thats perfectly fine, or fairly awful, so make sure you really settle in & check your seat for comfortability before the movie starts. Still, at this price, maybe a little discomfort is worth it.

Being the only second run theater in the area, gives this theater an easy win for best second run theater in the area. Beyond that, it really is a great theater, of course, second run means great prices. Better than that, this theater has popcorn better than most of the theaters in the area, yes including the first run theaters. The staff is always friendly and polite and very quick to get people take care of. The atmosphere is something you would expect out of a nineties movie portraying an eightys dance club. But thats even better than okay, its really tastefully done, really clean, and looks nice and is well maintained. A great place to go for a cheap movie if you wanna see it more than once before coming to disk, or if you just missed it in first run.

The price is a real gift to our seniors and those who cant afford to pay the big prices at 1st run movies! They count on concession sales to make up for the low cost of admission, so either consider your concessions almost free, having not paid much for your admission, or go without--DONT bring your own if you have to eat or drink--they NEED the revenue so they can continue to offer great movies at a low cost. Bringing in your own treats is like going to McDonalds, asking them for a free glass of water, and then eating your own picnic lunch at their tables--they would probably kick you out !!

Tried to see Bridge of Spies today - shows when Googling (Palace theatre Springfield) that it plays at 1:30. Upon arrival the clerk, who acted as if she couldnt have cared less, said the movie was 3:30, not 1:30. I said Googling showed it started at 1:30. She said, thats Fandango and dont control that. It was not the Fandango site, and it was results from their theatre. Oh well. Problem Solved: It drove home, made my own popcorn, watched it on Vudu Movies - $5.99 in 1080HD and saved a $1.00 overall. Its up to them to communicate clearly. Its up to me to spend my money elsewhere.

I really wanted to rate this a 3 because it lacks stadium seating but its not a bad theater all around. The matinee prices are incredibly reasonable. The projectors are digital. The surround sound is 7.1. The interior is styled like an old cinema which gives it a unique look for Springfield. All in all I would recommend this place for matinees that arent crowded. I saw Rogue One a few days after release and it was pretty empty for a Saturday matinee. Ill definitely be back solely due to the price and atmosphere.

Have to give this place 5 stars because its so incredibly retro but not rundown at all. The wheel atmosphere takes me back to the 80s/90s before stadium seating. The screen is a good size and the seats are roomy. Prices are great because they only show movies that just left the bigger name theaters. No new releases.

I would tolerate their old, dirty facilities when they playedrl second-run movies at cheap prices, but now without any announcement, they are showing new releases. Not going here to the dust covered theater with uncomfortable seats when I can pay $1 more for a clean musty-dree, comfortable theater.

A great place to take the whole family. Clean and well-kept, and less than half the price of regular theaters. The movies they show at the Palace are new releases that have been out a while and are usually coming out on DVD, but this is still a good way to see them on the big screen while you can.

This movie theater had changed the way or town does movies. People come from out of town for their low prices (3.50$ or 1.50$ on Tuesday). Even though their movie selection isnt the most currently released films, its a great way to see recent movies without breaking the bank.

I love this movie theatre for the cheap prices. Yes the movies have been out for awhile, but I can wait for them to get to The Palace because theyre like 5 or 6 dollars cheaper! And even on Tuesdays they have a retro thing where the movie ticket is only $1! Great place!

Honestly, you cannot beat the price. The movies are good quality and I have always had a good experience. Now, I will admit that the "caliber" of people sometimes is a bit below standard and that can make for a nuisance during the movie but over all, its great!

My little sister and I have been going here for years along with any friends that we bring. The prices are the best in town and it was not unlikely for us to get out of one movie and with the prices being as so good, buying tickets for another movie

This is a nice little theater, clean and cheap. The seats are uncomfortable but for their very low price of admission you can deal with it. Concession is a bit pricey too but just eat first before you go or bring along your own snacks.

Went to see Rock Dog. They checked id when using a debit or credit card. I liked that, not many places do that anymore. Accomodated special dietry requst, which was greatly appreciated. Sad to read that they may be closing.

Weve been going to this theater since they opened. They have the best prices in town. The seats are getting a little worn but the whole place is well kept. You cannot beat their popcorn with real butter not butter flavored oil!

Its absolutely awesome that they show first-run movies now at a steep discount ($4 with a student discount). However, the theater I was in smelled bad. They have updated their screens, but maybe they should do some cleaning.
