Larger and more exotic array of animals than you would expect for a small, quaint zoo. The prairie dog exhibit is fun. The large enclosure for elk and bison is beautiful. At one time, they housed bald eagles, I havent seen them in a while. They were majestic. Ruby the cow, shes no longer with us, and she is missed. The sheep are fun to watch run and jump! Sometimes leaping the milk cans in their enclosure. Monkey exhibit is popular, but in season for temperatures they prefer. As is mountain cat exhibit. Grounds of the entire zoo park have been refurbished, and are kept clean. There is a fun little gift shop as well.

Very nice zoo and park. Travelled in from out of state but was pleased to see a discounted rate for local residents. What a great incentive to visit local places! The price was fair, even for non-Bergen county residents, and the kids (10, 9, 8, and 6) enjoyed it even in the 90* heat. We enjoyed the animals, though most were resting or in their cool dens to avoid the heat. The train ride was cute, and the kids enjoyed it. The playground outside the zoo was AMAZING, and the kids loved the sprinklers/splash area. Our visit was cut short due to impending bad weather, but we would visit again if in the area.

My 2 year old LOVED this zoo. They have a small train that circles the zoo (not the best views of the animals but my son still went crazy seeing them from a distance). Just beware the train is not built for taller people... Im almost 58" and the leg room was very limited. As always with zoos my guilt sets in when I dont feel the animals have enough room so I do wish they had larger space especially the Mountain Lion but overall the animals seemed content and healthy :)

아무런 정보없이, 기대없이 갔었는데 기대치를 웃도는 즐거움이... 무엇보다 현재 입장료 무료! 아마 겨울철이라 일부 동물을 못보는 대신 무료일 가능성이... 퓨마를 아주 가까이서 볼 수 있었다는 점이 특히 좋았다.

Small zoo with a bit of education and lots of fun exploring animals inside. In winter exhibition is smaller but the admission is free. In summer time there is a train going around the park so you could see big animals from the other side of their aviary. Also there is a small garden with lots of flowers with the description what is that and where does this grow. Very interesting for young kids.

My girls ages 3 & 5 loved the zoo. We started with a train ride around the park and got to see a lot of the animals and then walked through the park, visiting all the animals. They also enjoyed the merry go round. I would advice anyone with kids to visit this place. You can most likely spend about 2-3 hours here the most as its not very big but its the perfect size for kiddies.

Ive been coming here for years. This park has a nice childrens play area with splashers in the summer and newer tumbling structures and soft ground surfaces. In the summer, youll find many families having private barbeques. The train ride and small zoo are also a nice for the kids.

It will take you about an hour or two to walk around and see all the animals here. Its not very big but this is a good place to take kids or someone on a quick date if you live in burgen county. Everyone seemed to really like the tiny monkeys and the sloth.

This place is a blessing. I love to go there to see the animals, and take in nature. If you wanto to take your family to a safe, cute little zoo, complete with trains, carousel, pony rides, dog park, tennis courts, etc. go to Van Saun Park.

I didnt realize how big the zoo actually was. I thought it would be a small zoo, with a few animals. They had everything you can want. My son constantly wants to go back, which to me, is a great. The fee to enter is reasonable.

Nice little zoo. Loved the cougars and capybaras especially. Use entrance off of Spring Valley Rd. OnStar brings you to 616 Forest instead of 216. Use parking lot 2, everyone tries to crowd into lot 1.

The Zoo is so Boring!!! Super WaCK!!! No wild animals whats so ever!!! The park out side was beautiful and fun for the kids and has barbecues. For family parties but Zoo BORING ASS HECK!!

Cute little train ride (additional cost) around the park. Nice variety of animals but not the Big Ones, so there is an alligator and a buffalo but no lions or elephants.

Kids love to ride the train, just $1.50 per ride. The playground area is huge, modern, and well equipped. Sprinkler play is a great added bonus during the summertime.
