January 10th, 2015 was my first visit to the theatre after its rennovation, and quite frankly, I wasnt all that pleased.Being that it was a saturday I expected there to be a lot of people there but at 10 pm the line was still ridiculous and to make matters worse there were only 3 cashiers workingat the time which slowed the process down.AFter I ourchase my tickets is where the real dissapointments and problems begin. First off, all the games have been removed. This was my most favorite thing to do in the theartre besides watching the film. Now that Im 20 years old it doesnt matter that much to me, however I can only imagine how children feel about it. The concession line was extremely long and when i finnaly get to the front we were told that there is no soda, Juice or slushee, becuae of a malfunction in the machines. What a major dissapointment. This was highly unacceptable to be honest. Now i was left with no choice but to buy a WARM bottle of water fo $4.34 After that I walk into the audotorium and accidentally sat in the wrong seat because of the odd way they lable the seats. However, I must say this was the most comfortable movie theartre seat I ever sat in and its mighty spacious in between aisles. I can even electronically recline my seats via a touch pad they have on the right arm of the seat. During the previews i realize im in the wrong seat. I walk over to the correct seat only to find someone sitting there. We both had the same seat number on our ticket which resulted in a minor argument. Its a system flaw which needs review. I eventually sat in the seat and with my luck I recieved the broken one which couldnt even recline and felt slanted on my back. Now i had to watch a whole 2 hour film in an uncomfortable seat (audotorium 9, seat F10). I miss the old AMC and the way things use to be. they really tried hard to make it a beautiful theartre , and dont get me wrong it really is beautiful but in my opinion it just doesnt work out well. Maybe I just came on a bad day. Nonetheless, I hope this review was helpful to you and thank you for reading. -Rony

I like the movie theatre. It has its fair share of problems, but its reliable. The ticket agents have always been cordial, Ive never gotten a mean ticket agent, luckily for them. The upstairs part is nice, the floors are constantly sticky, but thats expected of a movie theatre. The seats are the best part, theyre reclining seats. You can keep your legs up and your back down during a movie which is really nice. Sometimes theres a problem with loud people, but Bay Plaza in general is a hangout spot for teens, so obviously there are going to be some obnoxious ones. Snacks and drinks are wayyy overpriced, but no one seems to care when I bring a bag full of snacks and drinks in. Clean bathrooms. Just bring some snacks, and if you cant handle a bit of noise, go see an R-rated movie, no teens there, unless theyre with an adult. Edit: Yes one problem, I know many people who worked in movie theatres, I urge you to not buy soft drinks there. The machines they have are one spigot machines with multiple drink options from a screen, and those machines are the filthiest, most disgusting soft drink machines I have ever seen. If youve looked inside one, youll know. I strongly suggest you buy bottles of soda, water, or juice outside of the theatre. There is a bodega on the food court floor of Bay Plaza mall, and it is a little pricier than a regular bodega, but its the closest thing you can get unless you literally go to the store when you leave your home.

To be honest to be fair Ive been to this theater multiple times and each time I go to always find something wrong with it. Dont get me wrong the employees are great never got an attitude from the managers and employees no one but the cleansing this its not that great. I do not blame the employees I blame the people who go there the customers. Im sorry to say but 95% of your bunch of f****** pigs. God only knows what your house looks like if you are to leave one seat the way it is. It never fails that every time I get there I have butter or mice eat popcorn in between the cushions an outside food all over the place. Granted for $18 a ticket I would like to go into the theater and watch a movie without having to get up I have a big butter stain on my ass. As I stated before the management and the employees are great anytime I have an issue they take care of it but its getting to the point to where I will no longer be going to the theater and I will go all the way to New Jersey or even to the Palisades AMC to find a place where I can comfortably sit without getting butter stains all my clothes.

This movie theater is ghetto. I went to see lights out and people were running around that didnt pay to see the movie all loud, laughing loud and flashing their phone lights in peoples faces through the darkness while the movies playing to find the empty seats. The people looking for seats went all the way down the aisle flashing people in the eye talking very loud and laughing while the movies going then when they realize there wasnt any seats they went back up the stairs down the other side of the aisle to search for seats flashing people in the face with there phone lights. Then my mom and I in the very back row had three people standing behind us standing there that watched the movie from start to finish. I wouldnt mind if these people that didnt pay were quiet about it and wasnt flashing my mom and I and other people in the face with their phone lights as the movie rowing but they were and it was horrible. It was like 15 people at once search for empty seats. Some left that couldnt find seats and the others stood behind my mom and I and the rest of the people in the back row.

This place has gone to a whole new level of low. I honestly wouldnt miss this place if it was to close down for good. No coordination for paying customers and the class trips scheduled. I would have liked to know of such class trips in advance as to had come at another hour but after seeing the mayhem today and how the seats are in such disrepair, Ill just look for somewhere better to go and spend my money. There was over 50 kids waiting for their snacks that should have been ready before the kids arrived so not to hold up the line for other movie patrons. After it was brought to the managers attention, other customers and a few teachers started to complain out loudly. Once the movie started, some people walked out to complain that the lights were still on and that the air conditioning was not cooling properly. The lights were turned off more than 15 minutes into the movie and the a/c didnt progress either. Corporate office should really look into managers skill for current position since apparently the manager lacks managerial skills.

This a great place thats conveniently located in the Bronx area, Bay Plaza Cinema has come a long way would give 5 stars but theres is room for improvement. Pros: .Reclining seats .Consumers get choose seating in the theater .The offer no wait ticket kiosk who would like to pay with card. .They offer wheelchair accessible bathrooms seating in the theater. .They offer variety of beverages and snacks Cons: The cleanliness of the theater overall horrible. The bathrooms are so dirty. No soap or paper. no paper guards for the toilet seat, Toilet paper on the floor . No attendant to clean. The theater room: not cleaned or swept leftover discarded popcorn and beverages left behind and not cleaned up. Concession stand dirty unkept No napkin in dispenser or straws Workers look tired. Young staff No matter what time it is, whether its late or early there should be staff members cleaning and maintaining the theater.
