I took my grandsons to PowerPlay North yesterday. For the most part we had fun, but.... The Go Karts, which is what we went there for, are not operating. The young woman at the cash register didnt know when they had been taken out of service nor when they would be back in service, and the website didnt warn that they are under construction. We went to the buffet at 6:50 PM and literally every serving pan was empty; they did eventually get refilled but the kitchen seemed understaffed. The bad part of the evening occurred in the Laser Tag game room. About 30 seconds into the 8-minute session I went around a corner and my legs went completely out from under me. The floor wasnt wet, but it was very slick with something. The young man working inside said, "Oh yeah, I probably should have warned you guys...." and then quit speaking. Two minutes later my 10 year old grandson went down in the same spot. The same young employee, now feeling embarrassed, said hed stand in that corner to keep people out and he stayed there until the end of the session. I should have warned you?" No, you should have been trained to cone slippery areas off and also warn people. Today both of my knees and one of my grandsons knees are bruised and very sore, and mine feel like theyre going to get worse before they get better. Last night could have been a great evening even without the Go Karts but Im unhappy to be in pain tonight. Stars taken off because of the safety issue.

When we first went closer to when they first opened it seemed great. However, tonight we went after not going for almost a year and we were so disappointed by the state of the place. After loading our card up with $40, we found 5 out of the first 6 games we tried were not working properly. We decided to ask one of the many employees standing around if this could be handled. We went and grabbed a beer to cool off and wait for issues to be fixed. Unfortunately, not a single issue I brought up to the team was handled. We decided to remain positive and just play the games that were working, but we found almost every game was having some sort of difficulty. It was hard not to get angry and just leave. We decided to use up all our points and then spend all our tickets, as we do not plan on returning. Just putting this out there, I would not go again because I felt my money was completely wasted on this place. As someone who goes to D&B often, it is clear the management and staff at powerplay have let the games fall apart to the point that 90% seem to be inoperable. I do not see how this is at all acceptable. After being there almost an hour, none of the machines I mentioned to staffed had been fixed and about 7 staff members were huddled together at the entrance talking about who was dating who when we were heading out the front. For the sake of anyone who relies on this place for income, please shape up! For anyone planning a trip, skip it.

I have a grandson who is autistic and we took him and his cousins Saturday 8/26/17 to the kc area and he was fine at first but as Im sure u know children with autism get over stimulated with lights and noises. So as he started to have problems by the way hes only 4 I knew he needed time to chill in a quite place for a little bit and i asked one of the employees if i could take him in where the movie screen was just till hes able to calm down and relax. I was treated like I was gonna go eat the food there which by the way I did pay for the buffet and had already ate but I said mam hes autistic I already ate I just need him to feel comfortable and after 5 min of him crying she finally said um well I guess I mean u can only go in there though u cant have food. Really that was rediculous. I couldnt take him outside cause the other kids was still playing. I think u all should offer a quite place for special needs children so this doesnt happen cause they deserve the right to have fun to without being told to go outside in the heat to calm a 4 yr old autistic child down. Doubt ill go back

We came in about 11 am, and we left about 1700. There is plenty to do, the only thing is around the bathroom, it smells like an old cigarette ash tray. They are currently renovating the outside, but once done with that, I think the place will look better overall. They seem a bit understaffed, where as it took about 10 minutes to get to an attraction when the place wasnt busy. Although, the place, overall, is a nice little place to go for the afternoon. Be prepared to spend a least 40 bucks though, if you want to race on the go carts with a family of 3. They have bumper cars, which, even though its small, its great with about 3 people on the cars. They have classic arcade games, skee ball, a bit of everything. DDRSuperNova, even. They even have a nice sized toddler play area for the little tykes. Its just needs cleaned up a bit on the outside and inside, and I think it would be great. Also, the staff was friendly, especially the blonde female up front.

We just had the worst birthday party experience at power play north. I planned the party a month in advance thinking I was ahead of the game. I paid my $75 "non refundable" deposit. Invited all of my sons friends, and some family. Party day came and we showed up ten minutes early to assure no guests arrived before us and had to wait. The party time was suppose to be at 3:00. Upon our arrival they first tried to take us into another kids party, we were then directed to wait up front. We waited 34 minutes before I got to talk to a manager, who first tried to tell me that he could not refund my deposit because the system would not allow it. He offered to do anything he could to make it better only to shoot down every suggestion I had. I finally talked him into putting the deposit onto ten cards for the kids to play. So for what was suppose to be the extreme party package ended up being extremely disappointing. I will never book another party here.

This place was poorly lacking when compared to its older counterpart on Shawnee Mission Parkway. The buffet at PP on Shawnee Mission Parkway is 1000x better, the kids zone is 1000x better, and the video game selection is better. The buffet was aweful. The food was old, the salad bar was lacking selection, not to mention the sneeze guard was so far forward that you could barely reach the back (I am 511") and there were literally face prints on the glass. The floor was sticky everywhere, a stickiness that did not end until my sneakers hit the carpet. The kids zone looked like an aired up bouncy slide and a little ties 3 foot slide, not nearly what I was expecting for a "newer version" of PP. Now for the good. The roller coaster was sweet, my lids loved it. The bowling game was fun, the carousel was nice, and my 3 and 4 year old liked the ferris wheel. That was it. All and all, I will not be returning to this Power Play. What a waist.
