I had my daughters birthday here on November 1st, 2015. We got the mauvelous package. Everything was fine until the end when I checked out. I had 2 extra guests that attended the party, so I knew it would be about $30 extra but when I went to check out, I was asked to pay $240. So I said, that cant be right, I only had 2 extra guests, then the older blonde lady that was checking me out in a sarcastic tone said "no, you had alot more than 2 come in". So instead of finding out the issue she blames me and of course now Im in defense mode after paying close to $400 on the party and being charged another $240 on top of that for no reason. So I tell this lady again that I only had 2 extra guests come in and she told me that more people came in using my daughters name to get tickets. I said I had a list and everyone showed up, so there shouldnt have been anymore guests. So were going back and forth with her blaming me then she says sarcastically that it is her fault, so I agreed then she gets mad and ask me, "So its my fault? " I said yes. So now she has the biggest attitude because I agreed that it was her fault and I let her know it was her fault a few more times after the attitude I got from her. So now she was saying maybe it was the other young girl who worked near her that messed something up. Then she said that I shouldnt have gotten mad at her because she didnt do anything wrong and I tell her that instead of finding out the issue she went straight to blaming me saying I had alot more than 2 people. So shes telling me she cant find the problem and that my balance is $240 that I owe, then she says something about Alison. "Whos Alison? " She asked me if my daughters name is Alison. I said no. So this whole time she was charging me for someone elses party. Now shes embarrassed because it was her fault and after blaming me then another worker, she didnt feel so smart with that "its your fault attitude ". This couldve easily been taken cared of if the lady was better at her job. Instead of blaming the customer or anyone, find out what the problem is. It was almost a perfect birthday party until that happened. The kids had fun and the woman that set up the room was very polite and helpful. To bad for the cashier with the attitude.

I really enjoyed it today! You pay $18/16 per adult/child (cheaper if you order online ahead of time) and I think all the things you get to do is worth it! You get 3 tokens (parents too) as part of your admission. Each token is worth $0.50. One token will let you do one of the following: - make a marker - make a crayon with a personalized wrapping - get a pack of modeling clay - get a 4 pack of crayons - get 2 markers You can buy more tokens (2 for a $1) at any time if you want to do the above activities. There are also free activities including: - melting a crayon to make a figurine - making a melted crayon wax picture - seeing a cool demo of how they make crayons - a giant climbing structure - making digital pictures and projecting them on the wall - taking a picture of yourself and converting it to a black and white outline akin to a coloring book page. - going into a blacklight room and "drawing neon" on boards on the wall - play with a giant lite brite - ... Seriously I cannot believe how many things they let you do. It really is an amazing experience and I recommend it. Other things I would do is bring your own lunch as we ended up paying almost $30 for 2 ice teas, chips, 2 slices of pizza, hummus and a salad. But it was good and fresh which usually isnt the case at kids places. Things I wish they would improve is better soundproofing in the building. It is just too plain loud! The staff was cheerful and friendly which was also great. Oh yeah someone complained about irrelevance of the canal exhibit. This is true, it is a leftover from the previous museum but it was fun too! The kids each get a crayon "boat" that they can push around and learn about locks work. Really neat to see in action.

My children had a blast which is good, but there isnt really much to the place. The pamphlet is misleading as well. There is a picture of a water works station where children are pushing Crayola Crayon "boats" through water. In reality, these boats look nothing like crayons, and have nothing to do with Crayola. I even asked an employee what this station had to do with Crayola or crayons in general. She said it had nothing to do with crayons. She informed me that there used to be a canal museum in that building and Crayola decided to keep that part. The station has signs that inform people about coals, mining, and canal gates. Other than that, there are a couple stations that are really cool. There is a cool demonstration of how crayons are made that is really neat for kids and adults. I agree with one of the other people that left a review though, "Why charge adults admission when there is nothing for the adults to do?" Many times the employees would only hand the children a crayon to use during a station. After viewing the demonstration an employee hands out a free crayon to each viewer. They only handed crayons out to children here as well. Overall, the place is pretty cool. My children had a blast. I learned a little about the history of Crayola. However, some of the stations are let downs. One of the stations consists of crayons and paper for kids to draw, but you can do that at home without spending the $17.99. Also, as mentioned before, the water works station had nothing to do with crayons and was a waste of time. I feel the experience would have been better if the pamphlet wasnt misleading concerning the water works station, and the other stations were improved to be more fun...

Came here with my boys for a school field trip and they had a great time, however I dont know if I would go out of my way to come here. If your kids love art and coloring, they will enjoy this place. Best for kids 10 and under. The first floor has the gift shop and food court where you can buy basic kid foods and overpriced drinks (water $3). Second floor has 4 areas: - An auditorium where they have a 15-20 minute show and demonstrate how the crayons are made. - Machines to personalize your own crayon wrapper and stations to roll it onto the crayon. - Tables of tablets where you can color a sea animal and then project it onto their aquarium-like wall. -Toddler area that has a small play structure and tables for coloring. Third floor has a larger play area for bigger kids and tables for coloring. The fourth floor has three areas, two of which you have to wait in line. - There is a station where you can make molds from melted crayons. You insert a crayons into the machine and watch it melt into the mold of your choice. This takes 4 minutes, and you just wait and watch for 3:50 minutes. If you have young kids, their attention span may not last that long. - They have stations where you can "paint" with melted crayons. -An area where you can do spin art with two different melted crayons. Again, you have to wait in line, and you mostly just wait for your spin art to create itself. Id suggest going on a day when it might not be busy, because the lines on the 4th floor can get really long. There is a parking garage across the street and parking is $3/hr.
