Everything is in fact awesome at this discovery center. :) Most of the complaints in the 79 comments preceding mine could be avoided by keeping a few things in mind: -This is a discovery center, not a theme park, try and set your expectations accordingly. -Sure you can walk the place in 10 min if you wanted too, but it took our preschool age kids 10 hours to only see most of it. We still havent tried the indoor playground. -There are 3 sizes of Legos to keep kids entertained in different areas. Giant rubber or rigid foam Legos about the size of real bricks, Lego Duplos, and small size Legos. -They have adults only night once a month. Any other time adults must be accompanied by a child under 16 yo. And children must be accompanied by an adult. -The snack/food area is less expensive than at a movie theater but more expensive than a grocery store. Baked goods are cheaper than at Starbucks. Have a meal at home and a snack or drink at Legoland if needed. $1.50 for a Caprisun probably wont affect your budget too much. :) Product placement is excellent! Please dont change it Legoland. Water, apples, oranges, Caprisun and goldfish crackers are within reach of a 2-3 yo but cookies, cupcakes, fudge, rice crispy treats, and chocolate bars are at around adult eye level. If they really wanted to take advantage of customers all those things would be down low so little kids could grab them and throw a tantrum until parent bought them. -Target audience is CHILDREN 10 & YOUNGER therefore the 2 rides they have are not thrill rides. The first ride after entering is probably best for children over 5 yo, the second ride with flying sofa/hang gliders is fun for kids at least 36" tall. They do check hight so dont get a smaller childs hopes up by getting in line with them. -$18 admission per person over 3 years old may seem overpriced for a 2 hour visit, but isnt too bad if you make a day of it. I recommend the year passes if you have children under 7, they will probably be happy to go anytime a parent is willing to take them. Kids 2 years old and younger enter free(ages 0-35 months). For about the price of 2-3 days you get the year. If you want to try Legoland without spending too much Tuesdays are Toddler Tuesdays. For $14(I may be off by a dollar) an adult and a child 4 yo or younger can get in together. Im assuming you can still also bring in 2yo and younger free in addition to the 3-4yo toddler, correct me if Im wrong Lego employee answering back to all comments. -The Lego Factory isnt a real operating factory. Its sort of a waiting room to keep very young kids occupied and happy while waiting in line for the laser/ninja ride. Its gears, buttons, lights, tablets, a weight that tells kids how many Legos they weigh. It may be boring to a picky adult, but try taking a two year old out of there. From the factory you can go on a ride or bypass the line and head straight to the mini city or try out your ninja skills in a training room. After minicity you enter the Lego room and may be greeted by Emmet. Depending on whos on duty he will dance and hop and pose with your kids. But all Emmets weve witnessed so far have held hand and been friendly with kids. After meeting Emmet its Legos Legos Legos. Go from station to station, or let your kids pick their favorite and let them create until its time to go home... Even on a busy Saturday it doesnt feel crowded if you are concentrating on your kids and building. If youre looking around the place then sure its crowded, there are many people there. I highly recommend the Lego season passes for families with children under 7years of age. Especially if you have kids under age 3 that can get in free. With the pass you get a discount on food, toys, and birthday parties. Main thing to keep in mind is that this place is designed for kids to discover, explore, create, and imagine. If you spend your day playing with them you will enjoy yourself much more than if you are looking around at other bored parents. Have fun alongside your little engineers.

The entire LEGOLAND experience as a whole was fine but I have one major complaint. If you are thinking(as I was) that there was a "huge" store filled with everything and anything lego has ever had to offer then you are wrong and will be highly disappointed!!! WE drove from saint Louis thinking the whole time that my son would have his pick of any of the currently popular "lego movie" legos that were made and he was extremely excited and so was I. let me also tell you that we went on not a weekend but on a sunday and a Monday. sunday we went to sea life and Monday was the LEGOLAND experience. upon entering the gift store we thought we were being played as almost all of the shelves were mostly empty. And most importantly the "lego movie" section had only ONE yes ONE box. ONE lonely box. Check this out not only did they look like this on Monday but also on Sunday as well. So you can imagine how I had to explain to my son that they were out of legos when they act to everyone that it is a huge factory there and give a tour of it and show you endless pipes filled with legos just waiting for you. I was frankly disgusted and I did not say anything to anyone because what would be the point? They ruined just about every kids day in my book coming in for lego movie legos just to be fooled. If any place should ever run out of legos it should never be a themed park inviting kids for a day of fun and legos and posters of their favoriute movie all over the place. NEVER! I hope you read this mister lego man and I hope you feel really bad for whatever excuse you have because there isnt one. toys -r-us just a few miles away is completelt stocked up and if I were ever you I would be there buying up all of the missing inventory to keep my customers happy especially since you are dealing with children who are being given a life long memory. now my son will have no memory of buying a lego movie lego set there because you have failed horribly. please feel free to email me your pitiful reply and response as I will surely take it to heart. note to parents... buy the legos in advance before you go to LEGOLAND ! apartently their "factory is broke" and you will not be seeing any of the new legos just the ones that no one wants. maybe its a sales gimmick to get the bad legos sold out of there. I know my 100.00 would have been better spent at toys -r-us.

For the money, it wasnt worth it in my opinion. We live in Omaha. We have the childrens museum and the Henry Doorly Zoo, (who can beat that right), but we had heard some great things about LegoLand and wanted to take our two kids there, girls, ages 8 and 3. I pre- bought tickets thinking itd be a fast line, not so much. We also bought tickets to the sea life aquarium. Now maybe Henry Doorly Zoo has us spoiled but it wasnt much. I wasnt expecting much at all, it is attached to a toy place after all. So I already had had low expectations, and going in just confirmed them. We get done with Legoland which should be called Legoblock, my husband and I joked:), so we asked one of the members where the entrance to aquarium was since we bought tickets for both places and theyre attached. She said we had to go back outside and wait in line (again) with a no-nap 3 year old and get our tickets re-scanned to go into sea life. The line was way backed up as its 2:30 by now, so we had to wait another 18 minutes to get into the aquarium. We got through The aquarium in about 25 minutes. We got into Legoland at about 11:30 and were done with everything by about 330, so if that gives you any indication of how long it takes to get through it and play in it and wait for rides, and re- wait in line, there you go. And we waited about 25 minutes for each ride. Now it was on a Saturday that we went, so take that into consideration. Im sure if we went on a weekday, it would have only been 10-15 minutes. Ive been in customer service my whole life. I dont exaggerate or stretch the story of how awful or great something was. Had It only been about $60 for our little family of four to go instead of $140, I probably would not be writing this review. But because it was so expensive I guess I expected more. It was about the size of the childrens museum in Omaha and the childrens museum is a lot less or about the same for an annual pass then what this was for a day. Same with the zoo. And thats 100s of acres. Last sentence, I promise-- At the end of the trip I asked both of my kids what their favorite part of the day was and they said Enthusiastically, the waterpark!!!! Which was located in the hotel, Sleep Inn and Suites in Liberty, MO.
