I spent 5 days, 4 nights. Valet car drop-off was great. A bellman was available to assist with my luggage. Check-in was long but not the fault of the management. Obtaining a Players card was ridiculously long - of the 7 stations available, only 4 were being staffed at the time. Further to that, the computer systems were down and comps were not being properly recorded or paid during my time there. The casino was nice - 3 floors of slot machines and gaming tables. Only the 3rd floor was "no-smoking." However none of the staff in these areas could explain the use of the Players Card, the use of the machines or of any messages displayed on the machines. Employees did not know which restaurants were open or closed - or the hours of operations. Room service was poor. Using this service (3) times I received what I ordered in satisfactory condition only once. The other times items were not included that were ordered and table service items were dirty. All room service has gratuity automatically added regardless of the service quality. Spa services were good standing alone. For $10-15/day a guest has access to a pretty good gym. Along with the gym equipment (complete with attendant/trainer) there are great showers, a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The extras include towels, shampoo, conditioner, hair-dryer, etc. All you need is clothes and make-up. If a guest desires a special service, a massage for instance, the daily gym fee is waived on that day. Some of the massuers are fabulous. There are services for both men and women. Leaving the hotel, I had the feeling that little communication occurred among the staff. While I cornered a bellman and valet to place my luggage in my car - there were others buzzing about without function. One attendant insisted on taking my car claim check to retrieve my keys - without leaving my tag. When I objected she stated: "I am coming right back!" But she never did. The gentleman who initially went to retrieve my keys came back and asked for my claim ticket. Guess who had it? The hotel is beautiful. Fresh flowers abound. However my friends tried to have flowers sent to my room by the hotel and could not. The hotel staff answering the phone did not know the address of the hotel. Others tried to acquire a gift certificate for spa services for me. They could not reach any person able to secure this option. While the building is great and lots of money is spent there on a daily basis - there appears to be a lot of turnover and little training or educating of the staff. That is unfortunate. Perhaps a new GM??

Not family friendly. We just spent part of last week and the whole weekend at IP for a conference. It was an okay place to stay, but not family friendly. We had our young child traveling with us. We are a non-smoking family, but by the time we came back we smelled like a smoking one because smoking is not restricted in any part of the hotel/casino. The rooms were decent, but Ive stayed in much better for a way lesser price. The staff was very friendly and helpful for the most part. The food was very expensive and mediocre at best. The buffet was too expensive and the food was terrible. My husband was in the conference rooms for most of the trip and the only way to access those was to walk across the casino floor to get to the third floor. We were told by a Casino host at one point that it was fine to go up there, but when we were on our way back security jumped all over me and when I told him a casino host told me it would be okay, his reply was, "Well, he doesnt make the security rules." I understand that security has a job to do and children shouldnt be on the floor, but I was holding my child and booking it through the casino floor, I wasnt "dilly dallying" around. A casino floor is the last place I really want to take my young child. They need to make the conference rooms accessible from somewhere other than the casino floor. So me and my child spent most of our time trapped in the room because there was really no family entertainment. There are hardly any channels on the tv, btw. They have a mini bar instead of putting a fridge/microwave in the room and if you want a fridge its available at an extra charge. I dont think this place should be calling itself a Casino Resort. Its more like a casino hotel and thats it, maybe a casino/spa because there is a spa. The gym was very nice and big. It was not relaxing at all to be there, especially with a young child. I had planned on doing a bit of gambling on the last day, but by the time that day rolled around I was so exhausted from trying to keep my kid entertained or to sleep because all we did was sit around in the room that I didnt even go to gamble. The views of the bay were fantastic. I think it would probably be fun for a couple without children or single person though because there is a lot of entertainment in the bars for adults. Overall the stay was not horrible, but it was not good enough for us to plan a trip back there.

To start with trying to get a valet to bark was a total mess, disorganized isnt what Id call it, it was total chaos. Than check in, we stood standing inline for a good fourty minutes, We had paid for four nights of what should be fun and relaxing. Lets start with the bed, the bed is horrible. Springs broken on both sides of a king bed, so you either role into a hole or you lay in the middle of the bed hoping for the best. The carpets need cleaning, furniture is old and out dated. have three more nights of this, we cant leave because of the no cancellation thing. The casino is a casino, you walk in with a 100 you walk out without your hundred. But thats the chance you take at any casino, esp big casinos like IP resort, after all they have to pay those god awful singers. Now for the parking OMG !! Its a 1/4 mile walk from the room to the parking garage. Carrying your own luggage seems to be another issue with such a high priced hotel. So far the employees of IP Resort all seem kind. But wish we would had done more research before reservation. We would had paid a little more to go to one of the other hotels. Our fault. But never again. Next summer we go elsewhere. Mississippi gulf is turning out to be one of the most horrible of vacation spots. The freaking coast line is so polluted. They dump everything into their waters in this area. The hotels and street trash all gets washed or drained down into the coastal water here. Needles and meth pipes abound the shore line. Toilet paper and poop from sowers. They must dump raw sower into their water here. Mississippi coast line is a joke. Stay away far away. Even the locals wont take their kids to these shores. Go east for your family vacations. Or Florida coast lines. But stay away from the gulf from Mississippi to Louisiana Texas. Dont bother.
