I used to come to this place a lot as a kid after shopping with my family to eat. The food and a lot of the cool statues they had were amazing. They moved the casino inside then and I had to stop going. My mother stopped coming for a bit because of an altercation with one of the guards assuming my mom had stolen something which she didnt and it was found to be picked up by the ladies husband. We decided to give then one last chance because it brought me some great memories from my childhood and I figured it would be nostalgic. A lot of those old movie statues were removed which sort of made me sad. They remodeled which is to expected. I Had an ok time gambling though. A problem came about when I went to the bar to get a drink and it was in a small glass. This wasnt an issue until I got the same drink brought to me by a bar maid and it was in a larger glass for the same price. The thing that REALLY made me upset and probably will be the reason I may never spend another penny in there is because I was accused of taking a photo with my phone. I was away from a table, checking Facebook, and not in anyones way. One of the guards approaches me accusing me of taking a photo to which I tell him I didnt and he asked to see my camera roll because another guard apparently saw me take a photo. I wasnt issued an apology, the guy looked at me as though I was aggressive because of me being upset for being accused, and I wasnt issued an apology upon showing him my camera roll. That is highly ridiculous, rude, and left me with a bad experience. They need to do better!!!

Went there today for the first time with my hubby. Never been in a casino before so just checking out the experience. Being small towners from the boonies we were NOT all that impressed. Very medicore. Yes, there are hundreds of slot matches, but they had low payouts for high bets. It felt depressing in there, for me any ways. I only found 2 games I liked, but not enough to want to go back anytime soon. Yes, we lost money and it was our choice to spend the money as such, but there was barely even the excitement of a possible big win. We came back home and went to a local bar to play slots, my hubby won back half of what we lost at Hollywood Casino within 20 minutes of being there. Unless we save up and plan out another casino trip, I think we will stick with our small town bar slots, and maybe the bar slots in the city closest to us.

updated review - upped from 3 to 4 stars - I had a great recent experience. After cashing out of the video roulette, I went to smoke. When I returned, I couldnt find my gaming voucher worth almost $200. I asked a manager behind a blackjack table and he called security. They took my info, checked the machine and cameras, and found I had dropped my voucher when I took my phone out of my pocket. They located the guy who picked it up and he had put it in a slot machine on the other side of the casino. They found him and got my money back. This whole thing took about 20 mins total. Ive been coming here for about 2 months a couple of times a week and never have any issues. The only recommendation I would make is to have sanitizer or wipes available at any and all touchscreeen games.

First of all, this place would receive 0 stars if I could give them that. This casino is horrible. My friends and I decided to go and get a few beers and watch a basketball game, and drove 30 minutes to go to the casino to be told that one of us had "glossy eyes, was swaying back and forth, and had slurred speech". The guy that Ided us (Cameron) may be a lightweight, but 2 beers is not enough to say we cant come in. Supervisor Eddie was just as rude and could not have acted like more of an unprofessional. Another pointless employee, who was also very unprofessional, looked hammered himself. If youre looking to go to a casino, Id go anywhere but this horrible place. Try Rivers because they have much better customer service.

Worst place ever blackjack dealer was treating me like trash talkin crap I went there 3 times lost 600 first time thatsbwhen dealer was talking trash second time the garage scratched my truck. Ghetto ass garage!!!!!!!! elevator doesnt even say gaming on first floor !!!!!!!!then I went back again someone stole 25 dollars from me crab tables r fixed hard ten didnt come in in fourty rolls except on off line employees outnumber the customers and when I was on the table the players r watching my money talking crap worst experience ever the crap that comes out of harrahs ass is a trillion times better then Hollywood will ever be never go there again rather go to HORSESHOE in indiana rather burn my money before I go there

Walked in to have a machine take the 1st $10 I put in a machine, so right away spent teen minutes getting an attendent over and getting my money back. Went to get a $4 dollar beer and played for about 1/2 hr before needing more money. Tried to use the ATM for a withdrawl and the ATM said it could not process....yet the next day my bank reported it did go through!!!! There is something wrong with this casino...something ominous...wrong.....but I will say they keep it clean and the atmosphere was nice enough....still, gambling does not need any more bad karma to go with it. I will never go to this place again & I would suggest you stay away too.

Lots of bums,drugs,hookers, homeless and police, owned a business there back in 2000. Never liked the place never gambled there not a friendly casino. Had better luck with the lottery suprised it was still open! What a joke! Food really bad ,games are for fools better to bet at the otb in north aurora. Illinois not a business friendly state thanks to all those democrats like leeches with their hands out all the time state motto should be whats in it for me ? Anyway stay away from this dive and save your money for a rainy day youll be glad you did.

All the casinos within it IL state border suck mostly due to the laws on gambling here. Of all these piece of $#!+ casinos, Hollywood is the best for what that is worth. When I do come here, I spend 99% of my time playing poker. The 10-20 limit holdem game is the only reason I go here. Its the biggest limit game that goes everyday within a 300 mile radius. As for everything else, the payouts are terrible, the atmosphere is as depressing as it can get and they close!! Illinois is so annoying.

Id like to say that this is the absolute worst casino Ive ever been to. Bathrooms were disgusting. Customer service is terrible. All they care about is taking your money. The dealer was so concentrated on taking our money, he would forget to GIVE US OUR winnings. The drinks are expensive and watered down. High minimum bets. I tried finding something positive about this casino, but they managed to screw everything up. I can honestly say that i wont step foot in that casino again!
