We played the North course, which, according to the slope/rating and yardage, SHOULD have been the tougher of the two courses. But the pro shop guys seemed to think otherwise. Ill verify that at a later date. My review, from tee to green and everything in between goes as follows. The greens were absolutely beautiful. Country Club -esque. Plush and green. They were running true and smooth, albeit slow (about an 8), probably cause of the rain. The boxes were level and manicured. Most of your fairways and approach shots were flat with slight changes in elevation. The challenge came in hitting the smaller than average greens and negotiating up-and-downs out of the dense and resilient rough. I saw a lot of women and couples out there, which tells me course is mildly challenging from the different tee boxes. All in all, Id say the course doesnt penalize the short ball-hitter as much as it does the inaccurate long ball-hitter. So the 10-hcp player will build confidence, while the <5 player will get plenty of risk reward situations. Try the place out, youll be pleased with the price and the pace of play.
Played there for the 1st time this past weekend, played the South course, and was really disappointed. The staff was nice and friendly and its cheap, but the grounds were in very bad shape. Feathers, and leaves and all kinds of stuff all over the fairways and greens, and in a couple of the tee boxes, the ground was so hard I couldnt even get a tee in the ground. The ground is like cement! I doubt Ill be back soon. My friends tell me to play earlier in the year there...
This course was in terrible shape. My backyard looked better then the tee boxes. It is a cheap price but its still not worth playing. When we first got there we walked up to the club house the workers threatened to look in our golf bags for beer even though we had nothing in our bags. They were very rude. I wouldnt recommend this course to anybody.
Ive been to a few outings here, the course itself is challenging in that it is fairly uphill when approaching some greens which makes estimating slope difficult. It is not too long and the hazards are not placed too difficultly. Overall would be a good place for league or to play skinners with friends.
Had a great time I was surprised there wasnt that many golfers on a beautiful day course was in great shape one thing I noticed yardage markers were not present on a lot of holes at least not visible that would have made the experience a lot more enjoyable but overall it was great
This course is horribly maintained, tee boxes are all uneven and grass gets cut so infrequent that you lose a ball 1 foot off the fairway. Pace of play is slow purely because people cant find well struck golf balls. Do yourself a favor and find a different course to play.
Played the South course...plan on losing some balls. Short, heavily wooded and narrow fairways...OB on almost every hole making accuracy a must! Despite that, I enjoyed the course. Very challenging. I would recommend and play again.
Try to play here every Sunday. Prices are real reasonable. The North course is open and enjoyable to play. The South course is tree lined and a bit more challenging. The staff are polite and the food is good.
My son forgot an iron on the 6th hole. The ranger would not let him go back to get it. Called the club house they said they would take care of it, never heard back. I am very disappointed.
Dont come if you ever want to drink a beer. Guess the way we golfed was "too much of a party". Not a good experience considering you pay high prices for beer at the club house.
Hartland Glen offers two very enjoyable courses at a reasonable price, with a slightly more casual atmosphere than some other courses. Its just a lot of fun to golf here.
Has went downhill in the last couple of years one of the fair couple of the fairways were completely dead but the greens are fast
Great course for an outing. great staff, reasonable prices. Not super challenging but in nice shape
Decent course. Greens were a bit rough and fairways just ok. Nice staff and good beverage prices.
Good price but a pretty boring course in below average shape.
Price is good, course is pretty basic, good for beginners.
Well organized outing. Course was in good condition
Great golf course. The staff was very helpful.
Decent conditions. 36 holes. Not too difficult.
Nice coarse greens quick and straight
Course is not maintained well...
Poor golf course management.
36 holes and great prices.
Good golf course.
Love the hills
