This was forwarded to me by a mutual friend in Japan: Jon Hines I posted this on the Venetian Cinema page, but they deleted it since they didnt want the negative publicity. So, Im posting on my page to share my experience. WOW...just went to the Venetian tonight for the first time. I took my wife to see Mockingjay as a birthday date. We needed to use a gift card that she had received in 2012 and we had never used. Sorry for the long story hear, but I want everyone to know how we were treated by the General Manager (Harold). The person at the ticket window said it had been a long time since he had seen a gift card like ours as it was handwritten on printed card stock, but he subtracted the cost of two admissions and wrote the new total in a box provided on the card. He gave us our tickets and a menu along with directions to the theater. Seemed like a nice place at first. I was impressed with some of the décor and was taking pictures to show my sister in law in Oklahoma that is building a new wedding venue with an Italian theme. While I was taking pictures, this man walks up and starts giving me the 3rd degree without even introducing himself. I asked later and was told that he was the General Manager. Anyway, he made me feel like an international spy and told me to not take any more pictures. Since we had never been there before, as the waiter was leaving a nearby guest, I asked him if we could use the remaining balance on our gift card to purchase food and was told "Yes!". So, we made our decision and ordered from a different waitress. Near the end of the movie, she brought me the check. It was slightly more than the remaining balance on the gift card, so I placed the gift card and cash on the tray. She took the tray and later returned informing me that the GM would not accept the gift card. We had a short conversation and she left, presumably to talk to the GM. The movie ended and the waitress had not returned with my changed. Finally, after the theater had emptied except for us, the GM comes in with the check and my cash. He again stated that he would not honor our gift card as there had been a change in management. I reminded him that his ticket clerk had already accepted it as payment for admission, thereby validating it. I also reminded him that his server had also agreed to accept it as payment for the food that we ordered, but he continued to reject our gift card as payment. I pleaded with him to reconsider and not ruin our night out and that my $25.55 bill would not matter in the grand scheme of things if he chose to go ahead and accept our gift card as payment. Whereas, if he stood firm and required an alternate form of payment, that I most assuredly would let anyone/everyone know about my experience and that I most certainly would not be back, much less the negative publicity. He continued to reject the gift card as payment at which time I made the comment that I did not feel that he was correct in forcing my to provide alternate payment and that if I was to just leave that he would probably then call the Police. At which he responded, "If thats the way you want to be, I will call them for you!" 30 minutes later, after giving in paying with a credit card prior to the Police arriving and then explaining the scenario to the Police after they arrived, we left.....but will NEVER be back!!! Really...a $25 bill was worth alienating a customer to the point that they will never return and all the negative publicity that I can generate.

Found the Vinetian on groupon while in the Dallas area with my three kids on a mini-vacation. It was a good price and included and free popcorn, so I jumped on the deal for us and we made our way there. Ive always wanted to try the movie and dinner combo experience, and this being my first, the Vinetian theatre was a truly great start. The theatre is located close to some shopping and a 5 cent arcade, which kept us occupied close by while we waited on our show time. There is plenty of parking, and the exterior of the theatre was very well kept and has a bit of an upscale, psuedo-european style which was inviting, although it made me wonder if kids were allowed in. The site doesnt mention an age limit. Happily though kids are very welcome btw. Upon entering the decor continued with its unique, upscale look. There is a bar area for adult drinks as well, with some tables if you choose to wait inside for your movie. The line was short and quick for ticketing, and the staff was welcoming with a smile. Upon hearing that I had groupons, I just showed her my groupon voucher from the app on my phone, she took care the rest and we had tickets very quickly. The theatre room (#1) was very large, with a nice big screen, and plenty of seating. The seats are what I would consider executive style office chairs, but were quite comfy. They have rollers so you can move around if you prefer to be further or closer from the table or the people next to you. The tables were long and sturdy, with plenty of space for your choice of drink and food. There are "call buttons" spaced every couple of seats apart to conveniently call for wait staff. One of my kids said it looked like a college class room with all seats and tables lol. Our main server was Clay, he was very polite, helpful, and attentive. Other servers came by to deliver food and drinks, they were quick and polite as well. When you get tickets from the front desk, they also hand you menus. The variety was pretty standard, prices on par with what you might pay at a restaurant anywhere else. I ordered a pizza with a few toppings. It was what I would call a small size (in pizza place sizing) and was very tasty. My son ordered chicken fried chicken, which he enjoyed. My daughters ordered chili cheese fries and chicken tenders, all good reviews from them. The food was delivered very quickly after ordering, fresh and warm. The popcorn was also pretty good, if you order butter, they deliver it separately in a small cup, which is a great idea, you can add as little or as much you like. The movie screen was very sharp and clear although it seemed dark at times, but could have just been the movie. Overall we all enjoyed the movie and dining combo experience, with no negatives to think of. We would definitely visit again if we are ever in that area. Highly recommended.

Picked the Venetian for dinner and a movie for our 34th anniversary celebration.even though we have many other choices in the area. Placed our food order in the first five minutes in the theater before the previews started and at that time the theater wasnt crowded. We had held off eating dinner until the late movie so we were pretty hungry. Time passed (40 minutes) and we stopped a passing wait staff to inquire about our food. She said she would check on it. Ten more minutes passed so we put our light on. Our waiter finally came (took at least 10 minutes with the light on) and gave us an excuse it was the kitchens fault and he would talk with the manager for us. Took another 20 minutes for us to finally get the food. Asked the server what the manager said and he said he didnt know anything. (this guy wasnt the same as who took our order) We were starved and the movie was more than halfway finished so we ate. When waiter brought the bill he said the manager would give a 25% discount. If we had known that we would have sent the food back. Not worth it to wait as long as we did and ruin our movie experience. (felt like we spent the first half of movie dealing with the issue) Told the waiter we wanted to talk to the manager. After the movie the manager came up and gave his excuses (kids in another movie that night and they were really busy in the kitchen), basically saying our experience didnt really matter. Funny, other people in the theater that came in after us got their food. Well, we handled it how we felt best to handle bad service and left. Wont be going back there ever. They lost customers tonight. Bad service and they dont care to make it right.
