I have given this theatre many chances to disprove their bad ratings. My last visit was a nightmare!!!! Im handicapped and use a cane. My 11year old grandson and I were going to see Jurassic park 3D. The signs letting you know what was playing werent lit up. We went into get our seats, the lights were not on. Thinking the floor was just sloped, the floor had steps!!!! I fell so hard that it knocked my shoe off!!!! 2 nice gentleman and a lady came to my rescue. One of the guys had to use his flash light on his phone to help me to get uprighted and to check for any injuries. The lady found my shoe and put it back on. The young men was helping to assist in seeing what I could or could not tolerate. Soon 2 employees were there. They and the two young men helped me to the nearest seat. The employees brought ice and a booster seat to help elevate my feet. The pain was so out of control!!! My neck, shoulder, both knees, left ankle, low back and pain going down both legs. I should have left in the ambulance they offered to call, I had my grandson with me and a small dog at home. We looked around and we were not even in the 3D movie just the standard Jurassic park!!!! So very disappointed and in too much pain to do anything about it. The lights were on when we exited!!! The three young people who had first come to my rescue helped to walk me out. The manager or person in charge wanted to make a report. The young people who had helped me ask if they needed to leave their information, the woman writing asked if they had witnessed me falling and they replied no so she sent them away. At the time I wasnt thinking, but later I had to remind her of the things they had witnessed. The less details she put in the report the better for her!!! I was refunded the movie tickets and given 2 free passes!!!!!! I ALWAYS HAVE TO take a stadium blanket because its SO COLD!!!!! The drinks, food and candy are WAY OVER PRICED!!!!! Its so sad that they dont have to do any better for lack of competition!!!!!!!

I, like most of the other reviewers, only go to this theater because it is the only one it town. The place is in horrible repair and usually very dirty. It is always very understaffed as well. Every time I go they dont even have anyone to work the ticket booth; you have to go to the concession stand and buy your ticket from the one person working there. As for the bathrooms, they are terrifying (dirty, smelly, messy and stalls dont even close). I do everything I can to avoid using them. The theaters are always freezing. The last time I went I had to bring a blanket AND keep my winter coat on the whole time. Ive also had a lot of problems with them not turning the lights off when the film starts. The food is way too expensive; I havent bought anything in years. As for the ticket prices, they are around on par with most good theaters; the problem is this isnt a good theater. Lastly, they have very limited showings; even of brand new or big buzz movies. I have a really hard time seeing things when there are only two showings...one before I get off work and then one at like 10:30 at night. Also they cut out afternoon showings, which I used to love doing on days off. The only real positives are the comfy seats and the fact that I havent had much trouble with tech stuff.

Seth Childs 12 has a monopoly in Manhattan. The lack of competition results in a terrible movie going experience. The floors are often littered with popcorn. Their snacks are overpriced. Their attempt at pulling in more customers-"Stimulus Tuesdays" was a complete joke. They advertised dollar popcorn and drinks. However, I was surprised to see that the sizes in their commercials were significantly larger than what they offered. They only offer the most mainstream movies and charge extra for 3D. The last movie I saw there, "Toy Story 3", was symbolic of every experience I have had in the past. The projector wasnt aligned right so I could not read the subtitles, nor see the bottom fifth of the screen for the entire movie. I complained about this, as well as the 100 degree temperature inside the theater, and the manager said "there was nothing he could do about it." I easily wasted thirty dollars between two people for popcorn, drinks, and tickets. This is the most disgraceful attempt at a movie theater I have ever seen and I would never recommend it to anyone. Its not worth seeing a movie here: wait a month or two and rent.

The movie rooms smell like dirty diapers. In addition to the smell, the bathrooms are in dire need of remodeling as is the rest of the building. e.g. my friend was not able to get into the Lorax a couple of years back because it was raining and the back two rows had water dripping on the seats so they taped it off; many of the lights on the side are not working right. Aside from the need to remodel, there are just management issues too. More than once, the 2D movie we wanted to see started playing in 3D and it took them a good 10 minutes before they even understood what was going on and fixed it. The prices there are also outrageous, especially when you think about the fact that the people working there are students so you know they are making minimum wages and you can tell by their attitudes. I would not go to this movie theater if there was another one nearby and they get away with keeping this place in this state because they are the only one here. I have lived in Manhattan since 2004 and I have never seen any major updates aside from the fact they sell alcohol now and the prices went up quite a bit.

Worse experience ever still in the parking lot I wanted to post my review before leaving. took my kids to go see Secret life of pets. This is the first time my toddler actually enjoyed a movie. He was so excited and was interacting with the characters on screen. He was not crying not once he was just laughing and cheering on the characters and we got kicked out of the movie. Why??????? Because the white adults who were watching the "KIDS" movie had a problem with my toddler engaging and enjoying the movie and snitched and we the black family had to leave because as they put it a lot of the people in there said my son was to loud. Again he was not crying like that baby in there was but that white family did not get kicked out but we did. Thats a way to welcome us to Kansas. This has really been the worse experience ever. I will be sure to report it to the better business bureau and anyone else who will listen. I now have 2 six years old kids asking me why they had to leave and that their brother just really liked the movie. Thanks for ruining a great day for my children, you guys are truly the worse.

This is now a second run theater. The prices are generally about $2 per ticket (adults). So, if you, like me, dont mind waiting a few months to see a new movie, the price is really good. Also, they are keeping the theater clean, and the staff is very friendly and polite. Im now willing to go see movies at the theater more often. Ive increased my rating compared to last year (see below). == (Previous review, from early 2016) Usually, the theater is fine. However, recently, when we went to the new Star Wars movie, the sound was no good on one of the audio channels, so you could hardly hear long stretches of the dialog. To their credit, when I complained about it (during, and after the movie) they gave us a free pass to any Carmike Cinema movie for each of our tickets. (Actually, we cannot use the passes to see Star Wars for the next couple of weeks, I guess until it is no longer popular.) But they didnt make a blanket offer of free passes to the entire audience--only to me and my family, because we complained about it. Im also wondering how long it took them to fix the problem...
