We lost a card on the bumper cars. We went to see if we could get it replaced. She said I needed a receipt. I told the clerk they didnt give me one. She said thats the only way she could help us. I had bought 4 kids @ $30 each on cards. It was a reward they earned. I teach 3rd graders. I then had to buy another card for the child. They really wanted to feed the alligators - the main reason they all wanted to go there. They were out of the alligator food. Big disappointment. 3 batting cages were out of order. Slowed us up. many games werent working - we wasted money from the card on the games because everything is done by the card and youre just out of luck if you swipe it and the game doesnt work. We ordered a cheese pizza. Waited for that for more than 30 minutes. Waited another 10 minutes at the food counter just to get someone around to ask for a to go pizza box and then the kid took forever. Went to get on the slide. Kid was on his head phones - we didnt know what to do until he finally said we had to go to a different place for a $7 wristband for the slide. Super over priced. No one to help and they really dont care if you waste half the money on the cards and dont get to do anything. My 3rd graders worked hard for this trip and I spend over @ $250 and probably only received $100 of what I consider worthwile adventure. Never going back.

Only thing keeping it from getting zero stars is there are a bunch of new games and the pizza was decent. The lack of stars is because the service was terrible. What happened to a service with a smile. My family, wife, 2 boys @ 2 & 9 yrs old walked in about 7pm to an empty business no one other than us. 3 people behind the counter not even a hello or a welcome to Zao Island. Then we order the pizza my wife goes to the counter to pick it up mind u 2 pizzas and a pitcher of pop, cups and plates. Youd think the young men or boys in this case behind the counter would offer to help but instead tell my wife " its ok you can make more than one trip". WOW!! Then came redeeming our tickets from playing the games. I want to apologize to the girl behind the counter for inconveniencing her for doing her job!! Then when leaving, once again we are the only prople there and out of the 8 people we passed on our way to the door no one said thank tou or have a good night. Would have been happy with the ole California wave at this point at least Id known they knew we were there. Anyways $200 later I would not spend another dollar there and suggest you think twice before you do also!!!

Staff was very unhelpful, they more interested in talking with their friends verses helping the customers. While trying to cash out tickets we stood at the counter 5 minutes until an employee decided to leave their conversation and help us. The girl in the hut for viewing/feeding the alligators was very rude. She could not stop talking to her friend long enough to accept our money to feed the alligators. The alligators had only one exhibit for around 20. There were plastic bags floating in the water that was disgusting. Our four year even notice that it was yucky. The attendant did not help with the feeding at all, the polls to feed were sticks with bobby pins on the end. One alligator had a ball in its throat, that was visible when it opened its mouth. The alligators seemed very hungry to where they tired to eat the bobby pins as well. Not very keep up at all. There were no directions so if you didnt visit the facility regular you had to wonder around until you found what you were looking for, while a dozen employees stare at you. The worst experience I have ever had at a family fun place. As an Indiana native I am very disappointed in this facility.

No need for cash, the entire place is on cards that you can load money onto. The remodel is AMAZING. There is a bar area for adults, there was also live music in the evening that we enjoyed with the kids. The go carts, bumper cars and arcade were so much fun - I cant say enough about how much we enjoyed our visit. They also have mini golf and a pizza restaurant that is delicious. We spent about $80 between food, go carts, inflatables and the arcade - it was a busy Saturday, but with the new space, there was enough room for everyone to have a nice time.

Recently remodeled inside. This place is nice. It holds: Pizza, Go-Karts, Mini-Golf, Arcade and more. Decent property, half inside, half outside, great place to spend a couple hours on a nice day with family, friends, and kids. Highly Recommended place for locals, or people visiting Valparaiso. (Before they remodeled it was no so modern and clean, but it was kind of smaller, though still great) I dont ever recall having a problem here, besides it can get dirty at times. Thanks Zao Island and staff, for your well maintained facility.

Where do I begin. First, I wanted a table inside the restaurant part of the place but was refused even though it was totally empty. Their reasoning was that those seats were reserved. 2 hours later the tables were still empty. So they put us out in the gaming room, where bugs were constantly flying around our table. I found an ant in my pitcher of Pepsi. There was a garbage can right behind my table. They gave us a thin triangular spatula when our pizza was cut into squares. Tables around us were left dirty. This place was a dump.

Great place for people of all ages to go and enjoy a variety of activities. From batting cages to Go-Karts to miniature golf to arcade games, you wont have trouble finding something to do here. One thing I really like that Zao recently did was change the games prize tickets to an electronic format; instead of hundreds of loose tickets all over the place (like Chuck E. Cheese, etc.), all your winnings are on one convenient card... This makes it a lot easier to manage, in my opinion.

Expensive place to go have fun not too many places like it in the area so they got you by the balls on the supply and demand and the restaurant sucks only offers baked food not because theyre trying to be healthy just because theyre cheap and went over price on anything they can get away with by being lazy on.. nothing but attitude from their teenage staff if you dont like your job dont be there if you dont like your job dont take it out on the customers

My niece had her birthday party over there and she loved it. They all played laser tag and went on the go carts and played a little in the arcade. I was there the whole time and it was fun just to watch them. Zao Island is a great place to have parties and you can go there just to have a good time. PS The pizza and cake were delightful. The cake was just so beautiful
