absolute nightmare,,,,we lived there for aprox half a year,,,and my now wife at the time was employed to clean the restrooms ect,,,,i told her we shouldnt be mixing up our living situation with personal off the books relationships with the owners nor staff,,,despite my plee to prevent this,,my wife continued to proceed in their employment,,,long story short one night me and my wife had an argument,,she fled to roxi and charlies residents and claimed so much false stuff that the next morning my daughter were visited by loud knocks at the door,,, come to find out it was the Leon Valley police,,,and they were their to take my daughter, wich they did,,and as the woman cop is practically dragging my daughter to their patrol car she started crying and digging her feet into the ground attempting to break loose of the officer and screamed through her tears "where are you taking my daddy" so my now wife had achieved her goal,,,and had our daughter all to herself,,,which is what her mother always wanted,,but thats another song entirely ,,,so the police let me be after they took my daughter,,,which proves everything she claimed was completely false,,,or they would arrested me,,which obviously im not,,,so charlie and roxy gave refuge to my daughter and her mother and started stirring the pot until out of nowhere his lame ass wife roxy calls CPS on my daughters mother and without me even being present and off the grounds for over a week,,,they make entry into my daughters mothers home and conduct a field interview with my daughter , mother and then wanted to talk to me as well,,,,my daughters mother was making it "with the help of charlie and roxy" impossible to see my daughter ,,so i did what every good father would do,,,,i went to the court and had her served with a notice to appear,,,over the custody of our daughter,,and long story short i am now the soul custodial parent ,,it was a fight but the State of Texas "RULED IN MY FAVOR TWICE" based on factual evidence,,not the hear say evidence my daughters mother as well the parks owners charlie and roxi browns disgusting attempt to destroy my family,,,but things are good since went through that experience ,,,,but as for the park owners are concerned,,i am seeking legal action on their establishment as well as civilly for their defamation of my character and playing a MAJOR ROLE in tearing apart my family,,,,so listen charlie drown,,,and yes i chose not to formally capitalize you first and last name because thats how much i think of you,,,you never even gave me a chance to explain/defend myself on the things my now wife said about me,,,?????? who does that ??? i mean you have personally told myself and my now wife "Dont ever mention how much you love it here in TEXAS because shes completely miserable about him dragging her to Texas after he himself retired from virgin airlines as a pilot,,,,so in short guys/gals,,its a miserable domestic nightmare,,,,,the owners are miserable because his wife roxy wants to move so badly,,,and charlie brown owner of park is at best an esculatior

The first time I came to Alamo River Resort I was very surprised. We saw advertisments for riding trails and decided to check it out. The "top" part of the park is the standard RV resort with pull ins for rigs, restroom, and other amenities. The owners are very nice and happy to talk with you and answer any questions. As you follow the road, you turn a corner and drop down into the river basin and everything changes. You descend into a cool, green world of forests and river. The camps sites nestle among tall trees and the river bounds the whole area. Since we came for horse back riding, our main experiences are out on the trails with our three horses. For those coming to ride, it is a great place. Shoes and boots are NOT required for your horse...ground is packed sand and grass. Lots of groomed trails and then another large area of make-your-own trails riding. Almost all of the trails are competely tree covered so you are protected from the fierce Texas heat. You can easily get 2-3 hours of riding without crossing the same trails. All the areas are easy for getting truck/trailer in and out of with plenty of room for stacking/tieing your horses or even putting pens up. All the trails are equally available for hiking so everyone can enjoy the scenery. You can swim in the river and alot of the of camp sites border up to the river. A recent addition is rental horses. Now you can ride even though you dont have your own horse. A trailguide will take you around the trails and you can enjoy seeing all the wildlife -- especially the deer. There are so many deer and its great to see them bounding through the woods. The camp sites are every inviting. The two areas are very distinct with elect/water available in the upper area and the bottom area mainly associated with "primitive" tent type camping. There is water available in the lower area, but not for hookup. This park is a very relaxing place to stay the weekend and I recommend it.

So I call this place to see if they have a spot open for my RV and they said not at this time but would put me on the waiting list. I said ok, so they asked me the size, amps, and year so I give them the info. They said they would call me when my turn comes up. About 3 weeks later they call me and leave me a message that there is a spot opened. So I call them back shortly after and talked to the owner. He knew vary little of the situation so I explain it to him. He asked my the year, size and amp. So I give the info again. He tells me my RV is to old and they are weeding out the older RV from the park. He asks me to send a picture of my RV to him so I did. He has some lady call me back and says they are sorry but I cant stay at that park because my RV is to old. I dont understand what age has to do with anything. I bought a older RV by choice because they are built better then the new ones. If your old RV is taken care of as mine is. Then it shouldnt be an issue. But they want to play RV God and judge who is good enough to get in and who isnt. This is the first time I had this issue with a park. Some people are just control freaks I guess. If you have a RV 10 years or older, forget going to this park because you will be rejected from their holy palace.....

We just returned to Alamo River and found some very nice changes. They have a lot of new sites -- the store / clubhouse has been remodeled and moved to the entrance -- the lower campground (mostly for tent camping but they do have water at each site) has been expanded. We also saw signs for services like UPS and FedEx drop off services and dry cleaning service. The river area has to be seen to be believed - our favorite area. When we first pulled into the campground we had no idea what they had along the river because you cant see it from the front. As others have written it is quiet and GREAT for walks along the river and in the woods. This is a big place with a lot of wildlife -- they have a herd of deer that are always out in the evening. We counted 14 on evening -- just grazing and didnt seem to care we were there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We watched the people fishing and found out they also have people that come to the property to ride horses. Apparently they have a lot of trails and the riders like how much cooler it is down on the river in the summer.
