Its new, its big, its clean, and it has a bar. Whats not to love? This is the best mainstream theater in Athens hands down. No other place has the sweet seating, multiple open concessions, staffing, or automated ticket kiosks that eliminate lines. Theres also, and I found this out when I saw Sausage Party, a bar that connects to theater #8. For 21 and over movies you have to enter through the bar and you can take your beer with you into the movie. That theater has special seating thats setup for eating and boozing while watching, including a waiter service. Oh and it has a secret exit that puts you out directly next to the bathrooms... which is very handy once beer enters the equation. So, while the bar looks kinda, well, airporty, turns out the food can be pretty good. I had some shockingly great wings there and am curious to try their other menu items as a result.

Worst customer service at a theatre Ive ever encountered! We go to the movies all the time and on four different occasions my kids and have been turned away here because theyre showing a pg-13 movie in a 21 and over theatre during the afternoon. They dont tell you this when you check movie times online of course. This last time the the girl working the counter who turned us away for a 12:30 showing told me to come back at 4pm and pointed her fingers at us while clicking her tongue.. what the hell is that? From now on were using beechwood, they dont have the early show time but we can actually see the damn movie when we go. Now to explain to my 3 year old why the lady said she cant see a movie.

This is a very nice theater and it has its own bar and food. The seats are very comfy. Much better than my couch. (College life lol.) The reason why I put one star is because that they promised closed captions. (Im deaf.) The last time I went, they couldnt set the closed captions. Its kinda frustrating to go to a theater for that only reason, and I was excited to be able to finally have a full understanding from the movie. One star might be too harsh, but you got to understand that this is 2016 and theres still problems and broken promises on closed captions over the years. This shouldnt be an issue anymore.

Clean establishment with polite staff. The prices are fair (for a movie theater). The touch screens arent meant to outsource the staff, theyre meant to make the wait time much lower for those who just want to buy tickets and nothing more (concessions, special discounts like students). I recall one time, a church group came in with well over 40 people, individually purchasing their tickets and concessions. Though I cant agree with the way the church handled themselves, the staff was very efficient in getting each of the customers through the line and happy with their transaction.

A bit pricey, but easily the nicest theater in Athens. Always clean with lots of seating. Plus, if you go see an R-rated movie, you can sometimes get the dine-in theater behind the bar area where you can eat and booze while you watch movies! (super fun!) On that note, the food here is surprisingly good. Like, way better than it has any reason to be. Especially the chicken wings! I dont normally spring for food at a theater since the prices are, well, movie theater prices, but if youre hungry, the food here is actually worth the money.

Great! Large enough to accommodate the crowds and has comfortable seats with decent popcorn. I love that you can put extra butter and seasoning on for yourself. Certain screens do offer dine-in movie options. There are two GTX screens with plenty of room for you and your army of friends. I am also part of the GTC Rewards program. This lets you build points for every purchase...and earn free movie tickets for every 1,000 points you earn. Best movie theater in Athens.

They dont offer good viewing times for 3D GTX movies. The times slots are always late in the evening. Most of the time its after 9pm thats way to late for most adults or families to come and enjoy a movie on the BIG screen in 3D. This is the biggest reason i go else where to see the big movie titles in 3D. Mall of Geogia gets my money, sorry University 16 you just fall short of a real movie theater. University needs better 3D viewing times.

Great large theatre! Clean and new. Large screens with great sound. By far the best in the Athens area! Always easy to get tickets. They tried to do food in one theatre like Ovation cinema does but they seem to have given up. Barely advertised now... you have to ask for menus... and last time we went there and got food it was all in awkward tall sided "to-go" boxes with ketchup in packets. Stick to the popcorn.

Awesome Theatre! Wow ! Georgia Theatre Company is beautiful, clean and most definitely a step up from AMC. We live in Monroe and we were going to Carmike Cinema in Bethlehem but sadly it got bought out by AMC and its gone down hill ever since. We will not be returning to AMC after visiting Georgia Theatre Company. The extra driving is worth the trip !

I have been here before but I have forgotten what the concessions (like popcorn, icee and candy) prices are. I give this cinema 4 stars because everything about it was good (including seats, movie, tickets, staff, food, etc), but online, I can not find anything that even mentions concession prices. Sorry, but I really want to find this out.

Since when did movies become self serve? At the prices you pay, the movie experience is gone, you have to get your own everything, which I dont mind if it was the discount theater but seriously. when you have kids and purses and have to deal with that its not fun, everything spills, pay your staff more to do it the way it should be done.

I recently went to see Sausage Party and right as the climax was taking place the screen went dark. I was very disappointed but the staff worked swiftly to correct the issue. I spoke with the manager afterwards and she gave me free tickets to make up for the experience. Chick Fil A could take notes from this company on customer service!

Clean, modern facility. Ticketing via the concessions stands is faster than youd think and being able to reserve seats before heading to the theater is a nice but pricey option. Only one screen has the dining and drinking option so the movie selection for that can be limiting. Seats are comfy but dont recline like some other theaters.

Had the worst movie watching experience of my life here where a group behind us talked loudly, laughed and BURPED the entire time. Asked the manager for help and they did nothing. Was nowhere to be found when I wanted to request a refund after being literally unable to sit through it anymore. Wont be going back

When this place came to town, all of the other theaters had to up their game or close down. I still prefer here to any of the others. Great staff and managers handled a recent mishap in our group. The 21+ area should have a bathroom inside of it so that ID checks arent required to go in repeatedly.
