We were excited to hear that a cool winery was opening nearby. The wine they make is great, but there are some aspects that need severe attention in regards to customer service. The outdoor patio is very nice, but the time we were there, we had two (what appeared to be grade school) girls that brought us our pizza that we ordered (pizza was good). But that was it. We had to ask for plates, silverware, napkins, water, etc. We had to go inside to get additional drinks, and deal with the group people that were wine tasting, so it took some time. The staff never came back to get our plates and leftover pizza, so we had a ton of flies and bees around. So many flies landed on the pizza, even with us waving them away, that we decided to not take the leftovers home then and wasted half a pizza. The music was good. TJ is a consummate salesman. He will make you feel like the most important person in the world, until he moves to the next person. We were promised during our several visits to SoLu a wide array of things from TJ, from a special surprise in regards to an impromptu birthday party we brought out there, to the mundane of just getting water glasses while tasting....all of which were left unfilled/forgotten once TJ moved on to someone else. It has great potential, and I know they just opened, but that is when you need to be on your best game. Because people will come out and try the new establishment. If customer service is lacking, even for a new place, it hurts. In addition, people brought their dogs to the winery, which had them fight with the winery/game farm dogs. Not very relaxing having to have growling and fighting dogs pulled apart numerous times over the two hours we were there. Also, the parking lot was still gravel and unmarked. Not that is it the problem of SoLu, but people that came there lacked common sense and parked in one of our group, who had to drive over the lawn and through trees to get out. Contrast that with the incredible customer service at Blind Horse, but then again, Blind Horse is also very expensive. Again, SoLu wine and mead are really, really good. We just wont be hanging out there. We will buy our bottles and go elsewhere to drink them.

While it is a newer patio, the landscaping needs some time to mature, it is a great place to relax with friends and enjoy a cup of SoLu wine or mead. Good music, wood-fired pizza, and dogs (resident pooches, I would not bring my own) just add to the experience. The location, in the northern Kettle Moraine, makes for a lovely drive.

Very beautiful place. Nice gift shop with unique gifts. Not just wine, mead and ciders. But that is their product. Their gift shop had cheese, sausage and soda along with other fun gifts to buy. The bar area was clean and bright and the service was attentive even at check out.

A wonderful place to visit. The wine is good, but you should come here for the mead because it is excellent. Go and buy a bottle, or have a glass and enjoy the live music.

Our server was uneducated about wine and not very friendly. We werent expecting a Napa experience, however it didnt even meet our lowered expectations.
