This place is the perfect movie theatre. I think its great how it is. Service is pleasant and always with a smile. I wish they still used the ticket booth. I honestly have increased my trips to theatre because of how affordable and cozy it is there. I hope they never close down. The fact that the picture quality is slightly less than of a place like amc or cobb makes it better, and for some reason makes you feel like youre actually there, which is great, especially for horror movies or any film with great acting. I dont know how, but it really brings out creepiness and makes you feel like youre actually there, unlike any mainstream theatre. If there was one word I would descibe this place itd be: vintage. I rated this place 5/5 because I couldnt make it 6/5. You wont be disappointed.

Worst movie experience to date . I took my sons to go see captain america. first of all there is no more concession stand just a table and a guy given you warm bottle of soda with a side cup of ice .just the beginning while entering the theater the roofing is falling apart can see all the electric wires hanging . Its so dark in there no lights for you to see where youre going. The smell is horrible like wet socks and dead rodents !!!. The movie was supposed to start at 8:20 sat there till 8:35 looking at a blank screen . Half of the seats are broken and the other half has plastic bags on them Just not a good place to take your family .Im definitely not doing this again. . FIX UR THEATER ITS EMBARRASSING !!!!

I have lived in So Tampa for many years. Britton 8 has been a good place to visit and enjoy a good movie. The prices are great $5.00 and the staff is friendly and go out of the way to help you have agood time. It has been taken over by Radiant Church and shares its space. Over the next several months, the movie theatre will get a make over. The outside area has been repainted and the entrance area is being updated some. The lobby and main bathrooms are being redone from top to bottom. Everything is being replaced. They are offering FREE kid movies every tuesday at 1030a till end of the summer. Go by and check out the process. You will be surprised.

I hate to say it... I dont go there because they pay rent to Radiant Church and I and my friends had to stop going there because of that. Radiant talks a great game but they bought out the theatre and its gone down hill. The guy that runs the theatre is so nice and the staff is great... but now it only feels like a Radiant. My friends have told me they stopped going because of problems they had with Radiant and I was surprised to hear so many others had problems with them... i thought it was just me. if you still support this theatre (and you should) dont hold the sins of Radiant against them.

Britton 8 is awesome... if you can handle an old theater in need of some repairs and a good cleaning. $5 for a new release is unheard of ($6.50 if paying with card, $5 cash). The seats are squeaky and kinda suck, the place does smell a little odd, and the movies can start 10 minutes late, but its right in the middle of South Tampa, and is a perfect spot to cool off during the ridiculously hot summer were having. If Im off work on a weekday, youll probably find me there catching a 1pm show. Looking forward to seeing what the renovations bring.

Britton 8 movie theater has weathered the storm through the decades, under multiple owners and film formats and is still standing. That is a testament to its service in the community. Check out first run movies for the best price in town. Theres no reclining seats, but in place of that, you get good service with a smile, half the cost and the same movies. You cant beat that!!! Bonus, since its in a plaza, parking is not an issue and there are myriad stores and restaurants to shop in before and after the movie.

I dont know when these good reviews are from but I went in March of 2016 and I was thoroughly disappointed. Yes, they have cheap movie tickets, however the theater was musty and gross. It was hot and felt like there was no air conditioning. The theaters are numbered with scraps of paper written on with Sharpie. The whole movie theater entrance smelled of smoke. The movie started late (other people in the theater told me that was a norm there). The projector was dirty. I wont be going back

I take my Daughter here all the time. She sometimes doesnt make it through movies that are too loud or scary. At a regular movie theater, I throw away over $50. Here, we spend $20. Yes, its old, and not very clean sometimes. BUT, they have the latest releases and its cheap! Also, they have a kids special on popcorn, drink and candy for $7 or $9. All in all, not the luxury experience, but a great place for someone who takes their kids to the movies regularly. Love this place!

My daughter and I saw THE GIFT a week ago. She unknowingly dropped a wristlet wallet out of her purse. It had a large amount of cash and drivers license in it. The following Sunday, I went back to see if it was turned in and it had been. All the money was there. I am sure the staff during cleanup found it, but it could also have been someone attending service at Radiant Church that uses the theater on Sundays for their worship service. Regardless, honesty prevailed.

This is perhaps one of the last good small family owned movie theaters. Went with some buds, literally brought back major nostalgia of skipping high school to go catch a movie back in the 2000s. Passing through Tampa, glad I gave this place a visit! Great prices on tickets, good concession deals, nice 90s feels. Staff is totes high speed, super friendly, and rocked my socks off. Love it. Love it. Love it. If I lived here - Id hit it weekly!

This is a cheap theatre in both cost and quality. The good: matinees are $5 and regular prices are only $6.50. The bad: The place is definitely older and not in the greatest of shape. I think the cost makes up for it though. If there is a blockbuster you want to see with the best sound and screen quality, pay the $13 and go to AMC. If its just something you want to watch on the big screen and arent too picky its a great choice.

Been here 2 times in past 2 months, EACH time someone comes in with a group of kids, and the kids are not stop talking and disturbing the movie. And the person with them doesnt do a thing to quiet them, or is on their phone. What happened to the starting reel of silence phones and be quiet during movie?? Management need to check in during movies to make sure people arent being disruptive.

If youre interested in paying ten dollars for abiance, crowded lines, and over-priced food Britton 8 is not your place. If youre interested in paying five dollars to see the movie you wanted to see with the option of popcorn and no crowds- Britton 8 is your place! Boycott over-priced movies! Stop rewarding AMC for gauging for money. Support a local theater!
