First time to this theater- we live in South Tampa and usually go to one closer or in St. Pete, but decided to have dinner in Ybor first. Horrible decision. Without being explicit, because Im SURE you will get my point- just remember, like I did not, that you are going to one of the only theaters around in this "diverse" area where the demographic isnt like the rest of Tampa. This was my first time walking out of a movie. My girlfriend and I made it a whole hour and while there were only a dozen people in the theater, 2 different couples sat behind us a few rows apart. We were watching a scary movie (Paranormal Activity 3) where it helps to be silent and pay attention throughout. The couple behind us and to our right had a woman (for lack of proper term) who would laugh hysterically at every single part that could be considered scary...and yeah, she was commentating the whole time- "girl, get back yo bed" or "dat fool must be crazy" and "dang im trippin over here". This was constant. Oh, did I mentioned they arrived 30 minutes after the movie started? The couple behind us and to our left had a full blown conversation that started around 40 minutes into the movie. I dont know if they lost interest or also gave up on watching the movie due to the aforementioned couple, but it didnt help. At one point, I shook my head a bit to see if the first couple would get the point. They noticed. She said "shoot, i dont care bout dem, i paid my monies too". We asked for a refund because I definitely didnt want to come back there again. They gave us a gift card to be used anywhere- and trust me, it will be used anywhere but that location. Said we couldnt get a refund because we made it (read: suffered) through most of the movie. I asked the manager (I guess) why no attendant walked through the movie at some point- that has always been standard to me. He said they never do unless there is an issue. Really? Also, why allow someone into a movie 30 minutes after start? Folks, just remember that diversity can be a great thing- but when taking a chance with your movie, think about the other options in the Tampa area. Youll be glad you took a step in preventing your evening from getting ruined.

Just freaking awful. Do not waste your time and go to the dirty disgusting theater. I went here on Valentines day 2016. The woman that took my money didnt asked if we had a rewards card or if I was military or student. My date had a rewards card and she was a student at USF. She was had this b**** face look on her face the whole entire time as we waited in line and the guy next to her was rude as hell. To be honest both of them were very rude. We went to the concession stand to get popcorn and a coke. Popcorn wasnt good at all barely even warm and a lot of kernels. The coke tasted weird. The theater was very dirty and the trash can was full of trash before we got our seats. Clearly no one came by and clean the theater. After the movie we both went into the bathroom and she said the womens room was trashed disgusting. Two of the toilets were really disgusting she said. When I went to go use the mens room it was really trashed. I never want to go to this place again. Carmine theaters really needs to step up their game.

i really like going to centro ybor 20 because of the large theatres and the fact that you can leave the movies and head to a restaurant for a bite to eat afterwards. i also like the fact that its a lot less crowded for earlier shows than later at night. as for kurtis "KKK" kennedy, your snarky, racist innuendos about too much "diversity" and your attempt to suggest on the low that you dont desire to be around a certain type of person was very low class of you. while no one likes the "loud mouth" who talks back to the screen (weve all experienced this) you throwing out non-subliminals with the "ebonics" shows who you really are. since you dont like "diversity" you should move somewhere like utah, idaho, or the dakotas and while youre at it, take racist commenter #2 a google user w/you to stormfront.

We enjoy this theater much more over AMC just because of the service. Also the location is awesome so you can take a little walk and check out the nightlife before or after the movie or grab dinner. We have had a similar experience going to see a scary movie with my sister and 9 year old son. A group of younger women sitting behind us yelling out ignorant obscenities throughout the movie to make eachother laugh obnoxiously. When I did look back at them as if to acknowledge the rude behavior one said, "What the F she lookin at, Ill slap the Sh.. out of her". Once the movie was over I spoke to management and since then I have not had the issue. My suggestion is that if you encounter that, just calmly get up and get a staff member to remove them and enjoy the rest of your movie.

Couldnt give a zero star....We Tried to give Carmike a second. First issue was reserved XBox seating unavailable when we showed up tickets in hand. Okay...I understand its Star Wars and they oversold seats. So today we take the family for a daytime screening of Zootopia. Wrong tickets are printed so we go to customer service to let them know. No biggie right? Wrong! African American manager with unkempt beard becomes rude and says so what they are same price. I informed him I was concerned wrong movie name on ticket not price. He replies with who cares I just told you same price. This is the SAME manager who burned us on our DBox seats. We definitely will not be returning. This guy is not fit to manage a McDonalds...their service is much better than here!

AMC has ruined my previously favorite movie theatre. Ive always appreciated it being 21 and up on the weekends, but now they dont let me put vodka in the icee and they wont even sell alcohol past 11pm. The movie times usually available later at night have all been pushed back to earlier times. The bureaucracy is wrapped around thick and you can sense it in the employees, when before they would try you like an old friend. I hope AMC gets bought out. Other than that, decent screen, usually clean, seats arent special. Its no different than any other theatre now so might as well go to one of the Xscape theatres near by with the comfy chairs and better ticket pricing. Still less packed then most theatres though so 3 stars.

This was 1st and last visit to this theater(Muvico Ybor City). Appears good customer service is selective at this location. I had read another bad review but decided to give it a try. As with other reviewer, a price charge for a cup to put your drink in and to be told it was because my spouse gave back a smaller cup, is ridiculous. Although the manager wasnt there at the time. Im sure the staff were following managements order. I had a totally fine experience at Muvico, New Tampa location. Guess will go to that location in future. The staff at Ybor should all be retrained or terminated. If there is another incident with this theater chain, will take my complaint to a higher level Be ye forwarned again
