Has anyone had bad service at the ultra star cinema? I did. Worst service ever. Last night, we went to watch a movie. I was a bit indecisive at what I wanted to buy at the popcorn stand so I told them I needed a minute and stepped out of line. When I was ready, I told the girl and stepped back into line. She said okay. She was standing there talking to people, and she kept taking other people in front of me. It couldve been a misunderstanding so I let it pass. I ordered the usual for my family. We bought a regular popcorn, two hotdogs, nachos, and a large water. The cheese was cold, they ran out of regular popcorn bags so the girl asked me if I wanted to upgrade to a large bag for fifty cents more so they wouldnt need to go to the back to get it. I told the cashier Id rather not. I dont like buying more than I need. After waiting five minutes, she sent another girl over and she insisted I just buy a large bag. After they took five minutes just standing there to talk to each other about how to ask me to upgrade really loud, they couldve just gone and gotten the bag. It took me after I said no less than a minute. I bought a cup of water. Went to the fountain to fill it up with water when it was close to empty. When I opened the lid. There was something floating around in the cup. I thought it was plastic because of the way it looked. I didnt complain about it. I went up to the popcorn area and asked them if I could have another cup because there was something floating in it. She didnt say sorry. She insisted on correcting me first sayings "its just paper". Well golly. "Paper" should be floating around in my cup in the beginning. I just needed to vent. Ive had bad service coming to this movie theatre but after last night. I think it was the cherry on top of it all.

This place is a pretty cool spot. Something for everyone, every age. I go mostly for the movies. Its never packed which makes it nice when wanting to sit any where you would like. Some things that could be better ... NO LATE MOVIE TIMES. Maricopa doesnt have much going on for itself, so that should be an indicator to the owners of this place that you could most likely enlarge profits at night as the sole entertainment spot in the city. Not everyone wants to gamble all the time. Why make Maricopa residents drive to AMC in Chandler/Ahwatukee which stays open till midnight most times when you could reap the benefits of that late night business?? WAIT TIMES AT CONCESSIONS ARE TOO LONG. Either get more workers or utilize the 2nd concessions area you have in the theater that is never opened up. ITS ALWAYS SUPER COLD. Adjust the thermostat. Unsure what is going on? ... Survey your customers! You should see the number of shivering patrons sitting in your building wrapped up in blankets, or their significant other, because of how cold it is. INCREASE SAFETY PATROLS. Have your staff walk the theaters more often. Far too often us free citizens feel we are invincible until we find out that we are not. The place seriously lacks security and the concern for customer safety. If I was someone wanting to do harm to others at a movie theater, all I would have to do is scope out a few of your movies and I would find that there are not alot of staff walking around with the flash light checking during the movie, and there is never a security guard presence. Changes like those would make this place a 4-star type of entertainment venue; maybe even five.

I have been here few times over the last 2 years. It seems to be on a downward slope. The dining experience is lacking, no individual lighting for the seats so you eat in almost complete darkness, plastic utensils and cups and the menu has been updated several times only to remove items, never to add. My wife, who is 8 months pregnant and I went here last week for a date night. We were given 2 menus, we find out from the waitress that the menu I had was an old menu and both items we wanted to order were no longer available. My wife and I quickly ordered from the new smaller menu, I ordered a chicken parmesan. When I bit into my sandwich I couldnt tell if the meat was raw or overcooked, so I avoided the sandwich and put it into a to go box. The following day I had the worst case of food poisoning I have ever had. I dont think we will be going back and will be reporting this to the health department.

Hi shelly I feel the same way about the theater too. Popcorn tease like it old and stall. Lets not talk about the cold hot dogs and nachos cheese. I asked one of they to put my hot dog in the microwave and the look a received back was ridiculous. Theyre all a lot of inexperienced teenagers who dont care working there. I have stood in line while they talked for 2-3 minutes about bs before asking you want would you like to order. I personally take that 20 min drive so I can have good service and hot food. Even if it costs me more money, its definitely worth the money and time. So my words to people is to stay away from the movie theater. To add to insult.. I was even curse at by one of the waitress in the bar upstairs and when I ask to speak to a manager on duty. I was offered a free beer as an apology. He never spoke the the waitress at all!!!!!!!
