Both the rollercoasters are good fun once you get past the ordeal of the baggage drop and queue line. The baggage drop area is extremely small for what is essentially 2 full size rollercoasters, only a few free lockers in a very crowded area. Staff shouting at guests to leave the baggage drop area as it was too crowded and hot. A problem that is surely the fault of universal studios and not of the guests. It also isnt made clear that you can no longer take ANY belongings on this ride and the metal detectors and security scans arent until half way into the queue. So if you erroneously thought you could take a $1 bill and some coins in a zipped pocket onto the ride then you will be turned back to the ordeal of the baggage drop to try and fight your way to find another locker that you can use to leave your spare change. Then you can try to tackle the queue line again. Its funny how the busier and more popular Disney parks dont seem to have these problems. Perhaps due to better staff training, better organisation from management or better facilities. To top it off, the re-ride line that used to be open so you could ride the alternate rollercoaster is now closed so you have to go through the whole process again. This used to be one of my favourite rides at one of my favourite parks but Universal Studios has really let itself down with the organisation on this one. Its obvious the baggage drop area isnt designed for a ride of this size yet nothing seems to have been done in the several years that I have been visiting.

Dueling Dragons (5 Stars) The artistry in the castle was very well crafted with elaborate rooms designed for Fire and Ice, making the queue part of the rides appeal. At that time both coasters still ran in Tandem, giving a much higher thrill with turns pitting opposing coasters head to head with each other. Dragon Challenge (3 Stars) An atrocity stripping the original interior bare and meagerly redressing with pseudo Harry Potter theming. Leaves the queue dull, the up shot being the wait time is far less than before from lack of interest diverted to the village instead. Coasters are also no longer in Tandem taking away the edge of the originally intended design. RIP. Dueling Dragons, you were a far superior attraction until Harry Potter and corporate greed murdered you. I will fondly remember you.

I love roller coasters and would gladly skip all the 3D motion rides that Universal has been and is developing for a good old high speed coaster. This pair of coasters is phenomenal. High speed, drops, loops, inversions; This has them all. The original ride was rethemed to Harry Potter when the Lost Continent gave way to Harry Potter. My only wish is that theyd run the 2 coasters as they were designed to; together as a race. Injuries from falling objects from one train to the other put an end to that. Since you now are required to have nothing on your person and go through a metal detector it would seemingly eliminate that. Itd be cool seeing the other train barreling through at the same time nearly missing each other as it was designed.

Its a great coaster, but I feel that, as Harry Potter developed around it, it lost some of its luster. I still remember the large dragon statues outside the entrance and the castle that you walked through in line. Now, its just dark passageways with little theming. I believe the coaster got pushed aside as Harry Potter was built. Its often overlooked. Also, they stopped having the coaster run with both trains simultaneously because of a person being injured, so its not quite as fun. Despite all of this, I still love this ride and I will keep riding it as many times as I possibly can. It will always be Dueling Dragons to me.

There are so many things to do in Harry Potter world on both sides of Universal Studios that many dont find time for this ride. But let me assure you, that once you try this ride, youll forget everything else around. 2 roller coasters combined into one, some call it Duelling dragons. The red one is faster and longer and the blue one has more twists and turns. Id say, try both, but if you to choose one, Id suggest going with the red as it lasts longer. Also suggest being on the front row to make it more exhilarating. Dont forget to leave all your belongings behind in the free locker below the ride.

This was by far my favorite ride of the parks. It is overlooked by many of the visitors at Universal. It should be as popular as The Hulk. I had the express pass so I didnt get to see all of the themed wait line, but what I saw of it was pretty cool. This ride usually has the wait time of 5 minutes and its faster that that. The ride itself was AMAZING. It is all unexpected, from the loops to the turns, I loved it. I could spend all day riding that but, after 30 minutes of running through the lines to go back to ride it again, the rest of my family called it quits.

Amazing set of twin roller coasters! You get two options, red or blue (Chinese Fireball or Hungarian Horntail) that you have to decide at some point in the wait line; and both get great speed, G-force, inverted ride and a lot of twists! So much that you have to use a locker to leave your belongings. Trains on both railways start almost simultaneously and at different points in the ride they cross and near meet each other which adds adrenaline. Wait times are excellent also. I entered twice with almost no people in the lines.

An overlooked ride in the new Harry Potter section, this double-coaster usually has next to no wait time and offers two very different rides. The red coaster is more extreme but both have a large number of twists, turns and loops. They used to be synchronized for near miss effects but somebody got injured so now they operate independently (what a shame). In my humble opinion, both coasters are better than the Hulk ride and frequently missed by visitors.

The ride is 5 stars, great thrill rides. Slightly prefer blue. However the setup is a joke. Have to leave all your stuff in stupid lockers. The locker the machine gave me was already full. So I could have stolen a bunch of phones. No chance I was leaving stuff in there..they wouldnt let me take a phone on in a zipped pocket. Just a faff. Should Have bagage compartment next to the coaster itself that you can collect after riding would make more sense.

Excelente Montanhas Russas, é necessário ir na azul e também na laranja, pois os percursos são diferentes, elas saem simultaneamente, e parece que irão bater durante o decorrer do percurso. TOP

Great ride, both are fun! I personally like blue as it isnt as rough as red. Usually has a low wait in the morning, but by the end of the day has a high wait. It is however very annoying nothing can be in your pockets and they make you go through a detector. And the big thing is that the reason they dont duel are loose articles being in peoples pockets, but if there are no more loose articles, then shouldnt they be able to duel again?

Very fun, very fast roller coaster. When in the line for this coaster you can choose to either ride the red Chinese Fireball or the blue Hungarian Horned dragon coaster. You will need to leave all belongings in a free while you ride locker due to the coaster inverting and twisting. There will be a metal detector you will need to go to through to access the ride so be sure to leave all belongings in the locker.
