Ive been to Reef Life several times. The first time I went, it was because Id heard a bunch of horror stories and had to see for myself. Imagine my surprise when the owner, who was supposedly not the friendliest guy, turned out to be great. Mike is extremely knowledgeable and quite nice. Ive never felt as if he was looking down on me for not knowing as much, as other LFS owners have and hes never made me feel like the questions Ive asked are stupid or like he didnt have time to deal with me. He is, however, very straightforward, little to no beating around the bush. Personally, I respect how he gets right to the point, saves a lot of time. To anybody seriously interested in marine aquatics, I strongly recommend Reef Life.

I came in because it was my sons birthday and I wanted to learn what a "Nemo" would cost. Mike taught me about the hobby and I got my first saltwater tank for the birthday boy. Turns out it is much more my present than his, and I have been there more often than I anticipated (blessing and a curse that its right down the road from me). Mike and the staff have been phenomenal. No need to look any further than Reef Life Aquarium!

Went today for their Memorial Day Sale and was very pleased. Good prices and helpful staff. Also learned that they order most of their fish from Sustainable Aquatics. I really appreciate that theyre going the extra mile to order from such a reputable dealer. Fish from SA are born in captivity (no finding Nemo situation here) and are often healthier and live longer.

Newest up and coming lfs. The fish and corals are kept in excellent condition, very wide selection. Theyll even order something for you if you request it.The prices are some of the best in town, owner is very knowledgable. Definitely would not go any place else. If youre looking for quality fish, products, or just have questions in general check these guys out!

best store in bham! mike and the son have helped me step by step on my journey with my aquarium. Ive visited the other stores in bham, but none took the time to talk with me and help me. I dont even bother going to any other store. this place has everything i need!!

Selection is fairly small. It makes me think they sre about to go out of business. Otherwise they did have saltwater fish and some supplies. I dont see myself driving an hour to go back.

Usually worth the trip. I have come in and the tanks be empty which can happen anywhere you go but they have a nice selection of corals and fish. Staff is very knowledgeable .
