We have frequented this restaurant many times in the past. What a disappointment this time. The Host was rude showing us to the table. The new owner changed the great menu they used to offer to mediocre Italian food which you can get elsewhere cheaper. The fried Callamari appetizer we ordered came out within 30 seconds, which means we got someone elses order, even our waitress couldnt believe the speed it arrived at the table. It got there before the water...LOL. Then the rest of the meal Service was unbearably SLOW. My main course was served after 25 minutes and was luke warm which was inexcusable considering the number of servers and kitchen staff. They offered to fix my meal. Which meant heat it up. But who wants reheated mediocre food. The bar was almost empty which I thought unusual for a Saturday night. Music was loud making conversation difficult. . Supervisor only offered me a 20% discount for my meal which I couldnt eat. I would rather pay full price and get good food and service. I gave Vergina 1 Star for serving me the piping hot appetizer I ordered in less than 30 secs... LOL and my apologies to whoevers I ate... I hope they took it off your bill. I will not be returning. Nor will anyone in my party.

I have dined at Verginas about 5 times in the last 10 years and enjoyed the service and food. Today was different though. The staff was inattentive even though they werent busy. We asked for separate checks, we received one. No one ever asked if we wanted dessert. We had to ask for cracked pepper. The tomatoes in the caprese salad were hard and yellow, and the melon with the prosciutto was hard and tasteless. We mentioned this to the manager, who said he would "tell the chef"... no offer to exchange the dish or take it off the bill. We werent completely comfortable about the serving sizes and prices on the 50% off "Early-bird" menu either. Our waiter had the gall to challenge one of us about the tip on one bill. When he was told that the service was not good, he made excuses about being busy with tables both indoors and outdoors. Good news...the chicken picatta and marsala and salmon were very tasty, but we wont go back.

The food was average at best. Many people go to 5th avenue for quality, this was not the case. It is no better than a simple Italian chain. Then the kicker was that we asked a server to take a photo and he said he was too busy. Was a meal going to get cold in the 5 seconds it would have taken? Starvation was going to occur? The manager would have said, OMG you should have been here 5 seconds ago! I actually can excuse average food, I cannot and will not excuse poor and rude service. For this alone, I would never ever choose to religuish my hard earned money to a place that employs people pf this mentality. Good luck with this business model on the most expensive street in the area. This was my first time here and you made a lasting impression, too bad it was a negative one. If you go here, good luck and I warned you!

Ive been a patron of Verginas for over 11 years for not only the food, but more so to hear Melvin Germaines soulful and uplifting singing. Gloria, Melvins wife passed a few years ago and I was touched by the wonderful memorial Verginas provided to allow all of us who frequented to show our love with Melvin at her passing. Today 8/6/17 Melvin passed and we that knew and loved him are saddened but hopeful Verginas will provide a Celebration of his life memorial event for all the Verginas patrons to say goodbye. He will be greatly missed as this is the end of an era and a new chapter for Verginas. Many snowbirds will be returning this fall to Verginas expecting to see Melvin, and enjoy the magic and spirits at Verginas. Looking forward to Melvins celebration of life at Verginas to reflect on all the wonderful times.

Went for lunch on a Tuesday. Server was friendly and food came out about 10 minutes later. Sandwiches were good but fries were shoe string and within minutes were cold. Server never came back to refill drinks or see how everything was. Had to ask for refils after we were already done with our meal. Would have been nice while we were eating. When we got our bill they overcharged 3 of our meals. After asking for it to be fixed the supervisor or manager only fixed 2 but made it feel like he was doing us a favor by giving us an extra .30 cents off when they still over charged us. Had to get the bill fixed again. We probably waited longer to pay and have the bill fixed then we did for our 4 meals to come out. Would consider coming back but check your bill. No local beers on menu but craft cocktail list looked decent.

Christmas dinner and the service was terrible. We were seated for 90 minutes before our main course arrived. It wasnt the servers issue. The server didnt know how to serve patrons. Its call TIPS. Its called To Insure Prompt Service for a reason. When the kitchen is slow my glass should not become empty or not have any bread left to much on while waiting for our food. Maybe he was new and I am sure he will learn but it was on our expense and every other table he waited on. The main course was very good and not too salty. This is Naples and customers expect a certain level of service when spending over $50.00 per person. The cauliflower side dish is excellent as and appetizer.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Tonight we stopped by for dinner at 5:45 pm to take advantage of the half price ADVERTISED specials and cocktails. This was to end at 6 pm. When we were seated right away, I asked if we could still get the special offer POSTED OUT FRONT. The host said No.....That it ended at 6. But its 5;45 ! Well, he said, its not in the computer anymore and we needed to have our choices entered by 6 ( which by the way, we were ready to do). So we left. Not good business. FYI: Dont advertise a special that ends at 6 if youre going to seat ppl BEFORE 6 but not give them the special after all.

Wonderful experience. Our waiter was Michael who did a great job. There were three of us and we choose to do the 2/1+wine x 2 which allowed us to have one of the entrees as an appetizer. All the food came out hot and was delicious. The best part was the owner-Tony who was a delight! He actually came over to "card" our 22 y/o daughter who was sharing wine. No problem with doing that since the restaurant is at risk. Tony is a delight and runs a fabulous show. Dont pass up this restaurant. We will be bringing our friends back many times. mark and karen

Bar manager very rude tried to steal money from me his excuse was I did not give him enough for drink because I caught him he gave me the 10 dollar correct back. Then a lady comes next to me. I strike up conversation and she said she was trying to get the bar managers attention because he did not give her back her change. Please be aware. Its disgusting when bartenders stoop so low especially taking advantage of you because you have been drinking. To top it off it was the bar manager. Scum is how I can describe and thats being polite.
