Everyone To whom it my Concern During my employment at Cherokee Run Country Club I would like everyone to be aware of the course conditions. This course has no budget for anything!!!!!!! This is a Fly By Night operated course. The greens are Dying due to the lack of owner funding and trying to run this course with no golf course experiance, What so ever!!!!!! If we needed materials it would take days, weeks or sometimes mounths to recive, after owner was notified what was needed and nine times out of ten we never saw any materials This also could be because the owner is in Bankruptcy, and owes everyone. As for the greens well !!! the lack of golf course mangement own owner part the greens are dying and will not recover this year. So Beware of spending your hard earned money for a crap course. I will let everyone know that when the course changes back into the citys hands the course will be back to being a A+ course like before the course conditions rating now is F- hope this helps evaryone before you book you will be disapointed if you play here. Thanks for killing the greens and course conditions. We look foward to the City taking back over !!!!!!!!

Does anyone know how to say "dog track" in Korean? Because it seems that once the Korean family took over, this course went from very playable to one of the worst conditioned courses in the ATL metro area. It was just two short years ago that you could go out and play this course and even if the greens were a little thin they rolled true. NOT TODAY! 12 out of 18 greens are completely destroyed by the dreaded black fungus. The rest of the greens are in poor shape and I did notice they had some maintenance crew out putting water down, but the 12 greens that are black should NOT even have golfers walking on them. This course will not recover unless it is closed and the greens are completely resodded. I am not a GCM expert, but I know enough about the black mold to know that the grass will NOT grow back on those areas. You have to dig deep down and get rid of the dirt that has been infected. So, long story short, if youre plannign on playing here and have liked it in the past - STAY AWAY. They wont tell you at the counter that the greens are bad, theyll just take your money and send you out.

I played this course on 4/2/2010 and the greens were shockingly poor. The greens are literally dimpled with dead spots (no grass) and resemble a heavily used par three tee box. It is so bad, that there are nearly no smooth surfaces on any of the greens, and frankly there isnt much point in even bothering to putt. The only decent green was number 9, which we couldnt use due to the wedding that was happening, on the green. We should have been given some notice to avoid that green at that time, but we werent. To make things worse, we paid higher than the normal rates due to "Masters Week," but the course was in worse shape than in January when we played a day after 3 inches of rain! It is a shame that theyre having financial troubles. This is a great design by Arnold Palmer and potentially one of the best public courses in the state. At present, it isnt much better than the local muni.

Cherokee Run is Back! I have to say that I was worried after reading reviews from the past summer. I used to play Cherokee Run a lot. But its been two years since I have played there. I bought 4 rounds for $23 each which is a great deal, but after reading the reviews I was worried. I have to say the track is in good not great shape. But you can tell the City has really put there resources behind Cherokee Run. I would recommend anyone who was disappointed over the last year to give this track another shot. Have always loved the layout Arnie gave us. I see only good things ahead now that Mr Kim is out of the picture. Looking forward to playing 36 holes first weekend in March. Great job City of Conyers for taking control of a true gem for Atlanta golfers!

Played the course recently. I remember it being a great course few years back. I was schocked to see the course conditions. Tee boxes were unkept, bunkers were in terrible shape, greens were being arified (understandable at this time of the year), fairways were marginal at best, range had no grass to speak of. Absolutely a shame that such a quality layout course has been uncared for. What was once a public course that could compete with any private course out there, now is struggling to keep its head above water. May be the economy has lot to do with this so not blaming the managment but still a shame. Giving it 2 stars for the layout, no crowds to speak of. and really laid back staff! Hope somebody turns this course back around.

This place is certainly a gem that is found in Conyers GA. My brother held his wedding at Cherokee Run and it was an amazing day! They were able to accommodate our 200 guests with the outside porch open to overlook the 18th hole of the golf course. There was a nice bar to hang out and also the banquet hall was just exquisite! The service was also excellent with great food prepared in house by the chef. I would highly recommend Cherokee Run for weddings or just any kind of parties or reunions~!!!

Great pub, excellent Arnie Palmer design course, well-kept practice range, friendly staff & nice atmosphere...my favorite course to play between Atlanta & Augusta (barely nudging out Hard Labor Creek). The friendly staff & above-average pub put this course ahead of every other public golf facility east of the ATL.

Nice track, nicely put together. Greens fast but they need help. Alot of patches on them. Course could use some water where its meant to be and and could use better drainage in some other spots. But overall, good coarse and worth playing.

Played in Fall 2009. I agree with Jeremie. No grass on green. Just terrible condition. Management needs serious investment to bring this course back to the way it used to be.
