SHOCKING! So arriving early at the Ritz I thought I could use the amenities before checking into your room per the website and Robert at the front counter said, well not what Harry the security guard said; so after using the Spa (steam room, cold dip etc.) which was awesome I would go down to the pool and continue to relax, so as I was in the pool enjoying my time Harry the security guard came out of no where and told me if I didnt check in to the hotel yet i would have to leave the pool…. even after i explained to Harry that Robert at the front desk told me and your website said any guest could use the amenities before checking in to your hotel he still was very rude and was waiting till I got out of the pool. At this point I was so embarrassed and confused, I went back up to the Spa and gathered my belonging from my locker and went back up to the front desk to ask Robert why I just got kicked out of the pool? So Robert said that I would need to give him a conformation number of the reservation before I could use the amenities which if he would of explained that to me in the beginning I would of been more than happy to give him that number but he didnt ask for that; so meanwhile I was telling Robert that it was his fault that this occurred which he then said he was sorry and he would give me a 100.00 credit which was another slap in the face because for 100.00 would be somebodys tip after dinner. I asked Robert if i could speak to the manager… Nicholas the manager came out and explained the same thing that Robert explained to me that you need to have a reservation number etc…. he was trying to seem like it was my fault and not Roberts, but before he continued going on with his vision I stopped him and told him that this all could of been solved if Robert asked for that number from the beginning which Nicholas finally agreed to that. Nicholas offered another 150.00 on top of the 100.00 credit plus 25% off Spa treatment. It was a bad experience for me as i was staying there for four days and everybody saw me get kicked out of the pool by Harry. Also the elevators turned off for a few hours the second day I was there and everybody had to use the service elevators which were on the other side of the hotel and they were hot and smelled bad. Not a 5 star resort if you ask me. Two things are great at this resort FOOD & SPA! Harry and Robert suck!

Ive never had a bad experience at a Ritz until this weekend. I went to visit friends in Naples and went to the Ritz beach. I have a family member thats club level and he was finalizing my reservations for the night. Ive stayed in Ft. Lauderdale and Siesta Key which has always been amazing in regards to service, but not this hotel! I explained to the guys on the beach my situation and they said no worries, pick chairs out and well set you up. We had the chairs set up (which were old and falling apart) and then we ordered a round of drinks. I saw a lady earlier that was being sort of arrogant to other Ritz guests and thankfully, she wasnt assisting us but after about 15 minutes, came over and asked for our room number. I explained again that were club level and waiting for everything to be finalized for the night and she asked for my info which I gave her. I also offered my credit card. She came back saying she didnt see my reservations in the system and this is for guests only. Obviously it wouldnt be in the system yet, but she should be able to see my history. I offered to pay for the umbrella upfront and tipped the guys on the beach well, but because she didnt see me in the system yet, she was "doing her job" and we could not stay there. She was so rude and arrogant, and didnt listen to anything I was saying. I told her because of how poorly she was treating us, I was not going to stay for the night anymore and she didnt care at all, not typical for Ritz. How are you going to set guests up with chairs and then tell them black and white, they cant stay. That would have never happened at Sarasota or Ft. Lauderdale which are by far nicer properties. Thanks to her rude attitude, this put a bad taste in my mouth and I will think twice about staying at another Ritz. Why pay top dollar to interact with staff like this? With so many new hotels popping up with impeccable service, thanks for making it an easy choice Ritz.

Oh please... Anyone not giving this a 5-star / 5-diamond review is either a prima donna seeking to be the fashionable über critic, or simply has it out for world-class service. The Ritz-Carlton, Naples is the embodiment of "grande dame" elegance you find in history books. Here, you enjoy a level of service generally reserved for tales passed down by your elders - of previous times. Ive noticed that over the past few years, decor has shifted from the admittedly old-school appointments of stark conservatism (old masters oils, ancient Persian carpets, late Renaissance tapestry) to an invigoratingly fresh and neo-millennial interior made evident by contemporary artwork and furnishings throughout. The grillroom was, from the opening in the mid 80s through just a few years ago, the bastion of the "ye olde English gentlemans chophouse" with dark woods, opulent artistry and meat/potatoes sensibilities. Now, a lighter/airier feel permeates through - the lighting is brighter - the colors bluer and fresher. Precisely how it needs to be to make sense to the clientele of now. Service from the front door up to the room is exemplary. Nick (doorman) is masterful and is everything a doorman is in the largest of cities. Kevin (bellman) is uncannily knowledgeable of not only the hotel, but of Naples in particular and of Florida and the Caribbean in general. Professional critics could go on and on about this. Ill end it here by saying that if I were to go on and on, it would be as glowingly as what Ive put down so far. I will end with Robert (bartender) down at the Gumbo-Limbo beach restaurant/bar. He is hands-down the best bartender Ive ever come across. Cool as a cucumber - and always smiling. Right out of the movies.

First off we called ahead to inquire about their mosquito / zika situation. My pregnant wife was rudely criticized for asking such a question. Okay, they must not have any mosquitos we thought. Well we arrive and find out theres a SWAMP WITH MOSQUITOS between the hotel and beach that you have to walk over to get to the beach. Considering the 5 star rating and price, this place is hardly worth it unless you literally do not care at all about money. If the average rate for a 3-4 star beach front was $100, I certainly wouldnt pay more than $125 for the Ritz. Considerations to make are that they nickle and dime you for so many things that you get weary of signing you room number and signature. Parking (mandatory valet), expensive drinks, umbrellas are all above average, and so, so, much more, and when you take in consideration the cost per night, you cant help but feel taken advantage of. While the rooms are nice, they are about a 4 star "nice". The room finishings, again, are nice but Ive gotten the same quality at much cheaper rates. Do as you wish, its your money. For anyone looking for a warm weather escape, there are too many other locations in the US and its territories (ahem, St Thomas) that offer infinitely more at much lower price points.
