When ever my boyfriend and I went here we went up to the ticket office we were going to see a rated R movie so the lady asked to see our IDs, we showed them to her and went inside. Whenever we got there the african american ticket guy who rips tickets told my boyfriend when he was ripping my ticket that he looked to old to be with me and I looked like I was to young to be with him going to this movie. We were so ANGRY and Offended. He basically called my boyfriend a pedofile...my boyfriend is 24...and looks as young as any 24 year old guy, oh and I am 19 ( I do look younger sometimes depending if i have makeup on,etc..) obviously since that is the only way we could have gotten in. Anyways this guy was out of place when he said that, it is not his job to tell people his opinions on what he thinks about our relationship. He could of asked to check out our IDs and we would have had no problem with it...but he did not even ask he just looked us up and down and made me feel very uncomfortable. After that I just wanted to leave I was so mad and shocked at what he said and since boyfriend was offended & embarrassed as well he went to talk to the manager. He told him he was not looking for a handout or anything just to bring up the situation. The manager did not seem to grasp that the ticket man offended us by his rude comment/opinion and not by asking for our IDs..which he did not. Anyways we think talking to him was a waste of time.I accidentally posted this on the nine mile for a few months then I realized it was this location on W street. Anyways...Just for that fact we will NEVER go here again...but the Carmike on Bayou Blvd. I love and always go there! I also sent an email to Carmike themselves, they did responded and It was nice someone cared!

Excellent movie theater. We used to go to several different theaters in the area, but with the quality of the Carmike on Bayou, we continue to return, movie after movie. The prices are right in line with every theater we used to frequent, and now they serve beer and wine. The staff are very friendly and this theater is as clean as any we have ever visited (including the Ridge Cinema 8 in Pace, the cleanest I have ever seen). No, I do not work there or own stock, it is really that good. The seats are spaced further apart from those in front of you (and also sit up a little higher to protect you form the person with the really big hair or hat that plop down right in front of you just before the movie starts) than any I can remember. Lastly, with the drink machines out front, you can get your free refills without waiting in line or even after the counter is closed when you are watching the late movie. When you have finished watching the late movie and it is around 1:00 am, you always see at least one police car out front which can be comforting that late at night in a big empty parking lot. If you havent been there in a while, check it out! Bet you wont be disappointed!!!

For the theatre itself... Excellent. The stadium seating, DLP projection and IMAX availability is great! The conveniences need work. Almost every time I go the credit card machines and auto kiosks are not working so even if you want to pay online and pick up, you have to wait in a sometimes overly long line. The concession prices are ROBBERY. I mean I understand movie concessions are stupid. But carmike as a company seems to have the WORST PRICING. the theater is a place for families and many of them dont have the money to do this often. Why are you trying to squeeze 25 dollars for 2 sodas and a $1 popcorn? At least the refills are free now. Also the staff here isnt extremely helpful. Theyre all just kind of there. The friendliest people Ive met were at ticketing and that is hit or miss. The rest of them pretty much dont acknowledge your existence unless you are at the concession counter or purposely yelling for someone to assist you. I love the theatre itself but the experience and customer service leave a lot to be desired. Definitely the BEST quality picture and sound in pensacola. And safest.

I Love coming to this theater. It is always clean, I feel safe. I drive 40 minutes to this theater instead of going to Destin because it is one of the best around mainly due to the fact that Everyone is extremely nice & I feel like some of the employees are family. I walk in & they greet me & my family with extra attention & smiles. They have made me laugh when I have had severe depressed days through the week & they dont realize what that means because I always look happy but that few minutes makes the world of difference. I have days where I cant wait for the weekend just to escape with the movies & see people that are so funny & kind. I see employees working extremely hard & going above & beyond what their job entails. Rave is extremely blessed to have employees like Paul & James. I am blessed to have such relationships where someone makes u smile & feel important & my kids have expressed the same as well. I hope they get the recognition they deserve.

Once the location changed from Carmike to AMC, the experience has gone downhill. Prices increased, but the experience is mediocre or possibly worse. They recently included a self-service kiosk for picking up and buying tickets, but AMC Stubs doesnt register on it. Just the other night, my boyfriend and I watched Dark Tower that was "sold out" through the app. We still went just in case, but was unable to buy tickets through the kiosk so ended up purchasing tickets at the concession stand. At the concession stand, their scanner was broken so he couldnt scan my AMC Stubs barcode, so I provided my email. Additionally, Dark Tower didnt end up being sold out; there were seven people inside the theater. The way the app reports "sold out" shows could be hurting their sales. They have minimal menu selections, while competitors are increasingly offering more food options. The only reason I rate this theater two stars versus one is because its clean.

We used to go here all the time when it was the Rave but after one visit while it was the Carmike we will not be back. We had a situation with a guy bringing a huge backpack into our theater and then made a big show of looking around the theater with binoculars and pulling mechanical things out the entire time. It was so unnerving I couldnt watch the entire movie. I spoke with two different managers about this and one brushed it off, and the other laughed at me. Im sorry but after the things that have happened in recent years I do not think this is a laughing matter. Also they told me that they check every backpack but they dont. I have witnessed this several times. If this is how you treat your customers I will not be going to any of your venues, nor will my family.

Wow seriously? Too many cops? Too cold? What whiners. Bring that jacket or blanket. Its better than being HOT. Its better to have the cops there than to need them and have to WAIT for them to show up. I wish they would police the theaters and remove the a-holes who put their feet up on the seats and make nuisances of themselves while everyone else is trying to enjoy the movie. I prefer the W. Street location. The expense is the same as the other Rave theaters. If you can't afford the extra dollar or two, go during matinee. Sure, the theater food is way overpriced but it is like that at EVERY theater. We know you sneak in food to save money. The proof is left in the theater. I've seen it.
