Ich hatte den Platz via Golf Now gebucht. An einem Freitag nachmittag in der Nebensaison für 41,65$ inkl. Cart, das ist recht günstig. Hatte dort einen Tag vorher angerufen um Leihschläger zu ordern. Auskunft 18$, das ist ok. Am Freitag vor Ort waren es plötzlich 30$, nun bei guten Schlägern kann man das vielleicht verlangen, aber ich erhielt uralte Ping Schläger, geschätztes Baujahr, 1975, Metallschaft, jeder Schläger wog 4x soviel wie ein normaler, moderner Schläger. Zweite Überraschung, kein Token für die Driving Range, sondern 10$ für 40 Bälle, wow. Der Platz an sich, entschädigte jedoch dafür. Sehr gepflegt, schnelle Grüns, aber 2-3 Löcher waren für Hobbygolfer extrem unfair. Landezone für den Drive ab 170m, 15 m breit, rundum Wasser, vorlegen nur auf den Damen Abschlag möglich, ganz schön heftig, aber reizvoll. Apropo Wasser, allgegenwärtig, präzises Spiel mit den Eisen erforderlich. Ich habe 4 Bälle verloren mit denen ich sonst 2-3 Runden spiele. Ich hatte einen sehr netten Spielparter, Pete aus Connecticut, der sich wie ich auf ein kühles Bier an der 19 freute. Dritte Überraschung, Restaurant und Club um 15.30h geschlossen. Begründung des Managers an der Cart Rückgabe, die Club Leitung ist stark religiös orientiert und darum wird kein Alkohol ausgeschenkt, das wäre bzw. ist zu akzeptieren, aber auch Softdrinks waren nicht zu ordern. Ich denke, das war eine Ausrede, Nebensaison und nur 8 Flights auf dem Platz. Resumee, ganz nett, schöne Landschaft aber als Ganzes, nur befriedigend bis gut. Hier in Florida gibt es deutlich bessere Golfanlagen.

Beautiful golf course and just challenging enough if you are in the Fort Myers area and want to golf but dont have a membership to one of the country clubs. The greens were in perfect condition and the fairways were too. One thing to note - they dont serve alcohol at the course or in the clubhouse. Overall, we really enjoyed our rounds at Shell Point and would return when back in the area.

Great course just "steps" away from Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach. The course is kept in immaculate condition and the staff is always pleasant. Make sure to call ahead before heading there, they stay quite busy. They just built a brand new club house which is a tremendous upgrade over their old "trailer". They also have a spacious driving range, restaurant, standard pro-shop amenities, and more.

Course is in amazing condition, best greens I have ever putted on! Hit the ball half way decent here and youll have a great round! Really enjoy this course every year we come done, this years refresh just made it much better! Fun course yet challenging!
