Played on June 18th. Greens were in horrible shape, they were blaming it on punched greens. Greens were punched 2 weeks ago apparently, however they were bare in alot of spots. Ive played nice courses with punched greens, and they dont look like this. Ive added a photo to back up my claim. When someone calls your course and asks you the reality of the situation, please dont fluff your greens condition. I drove about 2 hours to come to Ocala to spend the weekend It was disappointing that I wasted my time at this course when I could of played at another one in the area. The course is okay, there are few blind shot holes due to hills. Bunkers were wet, some had standing water in them. Hole placements on some of the greens were right in the middle of their sandy crater spots. Making putting impossible. Cart girl came by one time around 1pm. It was about 90+ degrees. We called ahead to place food orders, no one picked up the phone at the restaurant.

This is a very pretty course with lots of changes in elevation. Some holes are dramatically up/down hill which is just a ton of fun. Staff was very friendly, explained before hand they had punched the greens recently which I appreciated. Price was extremely cheap but I think that was because the greens, which I honestly didnt think were bad at all. The only complaint I have from playing is that the tee box markers were in a different order almost every hole. Its not like I couldnt figure out which was the middle tee (yeah Im an amateur, dont play from tips), but the inconsistency of the colors seemed strange. I would recommend this course, and look forward to playing it again!

Ocala National offers a number of tees, that challenge players of any skill levels. It has hosted a USGA Championship and routinely holds state high school and amateur championships. The course has matured well. The fairways are well maintained and lined by old live oak. Deer and wild turkeys are regular visitors. The elevation changes are unexpected, in a Florida course; the back tee on #4 is the highest point in the county. The holes vary from one to the other, such that frequent rounds will never become boring or routine. Playing Ocala National is a terrific golf value.

Allen Parsons

Formerly known as the Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club course, the already very good Ocala National benefitted several years ago from a spruce up at the hands of Rees Jones. The update was in anticipation of the 2009 USGA Womens Mid-Amateur tournament. Rolling terrain, set amid oaks and pines, its a lovely course and well-maintained. Facilities are also quite nice.

Played this course 1/21/16 fairways in very poor condition no ambassador or ranger... On some holes there were 4 groups ...the group behind our 4some kept hitting into us even tho I told them we could not go anywhere with 3 to 4 groups in front of us...will not play here again very poorly managed and maintained...not worth the money

Just played this week. Great layout...challenging course! Course well maintained.......I could go on and on. Price is a bargain for the quality received! Keep up the good work! Oh....practice range is great also. Please offer coffee in the pro shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be glad to make it!

very nice course only played it once, the price is too high for the average golfer when other golf courses are just as nice . I can play 3 games for the same price as 1 game there.

Old guy in pro shop was very friendly and accommodating - challenging course- greens in good shape- fairways a little thin in spots but overall course was great- going back asap

Course was fun until they started to water while people was playing. Had good putting dry greens to slow as hell greens. Why water with players on course? Who knows.

Very nice golf course. Doesnt feel like youre in Florida at all. Feels more like Huntsville AL. Beautiful Hills and pretty challenging without being a chore.
