This is an old theater and yes it does smell musty BUT the prices are reasonable, the parking is FREE and easy to find a space (how great is that in San Francisco,) the popcorn is excellent, and the bathrooms are always kept clean. The people who run the theater are very nice and they check on the audience to make sure everything is okay. Maybe the ambience is not up to todays standards but my husband and I are here to watch a movie in peace, quiet, and safety and one can do that in this theater. I also want to add that for seniors and individuals who are not well health-wise this is an easy accessible theater. My husband loved movies but was very ill and could not handle all the stairs at the main stream theaters not too mention having to park blocks away or in a smelly disgusting parking garage: thank goodness for this theater, my husband so enjoyed going here and watching the movies with little stress on his physical body. What more can one ask.

Older movie theater located behind Stonestown Galleria. Unlike modern movie theaters, United Artists have seats that are bit more worn out and all are on one floor. So if youre shorter than 5, good luck watching the screen from the back. Limited selection of foods at the concession stand and employees try their best to keep the lobby clean. I used to attend screenings of Filipino movies here a few years ago, but now Filipino movies can be seen at Century Theaters. Since its behind Stonestown, there is a parking lot in front, which is easy and free. Overall, I dont come here anymore, but if United Artists updated the buildings interior and exterior, then maybe there would be more patrons.

Old School! This is the theatre I saw ET, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, The Cat from Outer Space and many more cool original movie premiers! Yes, it could use some love & minor udates, but it is great to have an old favorite feel like it did when we went to it as kids! No drink holders does not bother people who didnt have them "in the day"!

Hidden gem of a cinema. 2 theaters showing art or independent films. Lots of free parking. Located behind Stonestown Mall. Usually not crowded. There is sometimes an odd mildew smell. Since it is an older theater there are no cup holders for each seat. Fun, local place to see art films without having to struggle with traffic and parking.

I like this theater because it shows many independent films. The people who work there are friendly, my big complaint is that the place is dirty and the seats are uncomfortable. It just needs an overhaul to bring it up to decent standards. Ive gotten used to the seats on an angle, but hard to get used to the smell of grime.

Echoing what others have said, the seats arent centered to the screen, and they feel old. If you dont want to pay for a water bottle, theyll give you a plastic cup which you can fill up at the water fountain, which is nice? There arent any cupholders inside, and I thought the popcorn was kind of dry.

All of the criticism about the need for a thorough renovation hold true. This is a theater that movie buffs love to bash. On the other hand, it does show interesting, often indie films, and it has plenty of free parking and a discount senior matinee on Mondays.

Sweet neighborhood theatre seldom if ever crowded - not sure how it survives but the films the choose to screen are more eclectic than the average and we appreciate that. Ii is ALWAYS clean and parking is very easy - VERY.

Seems like UA has just forgotten about this theater. Would like either new properly oriented seats, or go back to one big screen. And give the place a good cleaning, it kinda smells musty. JD

Seats are not aligned to the screen, no cupholder, etc... Not all single screen cinemas will be missed. Second run arthouse is a potential niche Id love to support, but...
