Looking at some of the negatives, they all seem to revolve around price. For the same money P B Dye is a rip off. I have been there on numerus occasions when they have aerated the greens and not told us. Weve gotten to the 3rd hole and WHAM, holes and top dressed. When we complined to the staff we were basically told take it or leave it.At Whiskey Creek, you are warned that they aerated, this has never been a problem! The course is far nicer, what you see is what you get, no tricks or gimmicks to lay around. Its marshalled well w/o being pushy. The pace of play ( at least for me, during the week) is great. No lomger than 4 hours and weve gone through in 3 12 on many occsions. The course is in pristine conditon. Worthington Manoir I gave up on. They havent dpone ANYTING w theri traps since it opened, the traps are compacted, and many are barren of sand. The few that have some sand only have 1 inch so you hit hard pan when you do land in them. Forget PB DYE and WORTHINGTON for my bucks, Im stickin to Whiskey Creek

Nice layout and a beautiful course, but you can keep your $120 weekend rate. Do you think youre course is something special? If so then why are you more expensive than courses that are close by? If youre going to be more expensive can you AT LEAST use grass tees on your driving range? Instead of crappy green mats? Ill never understand why a course that cost more than $100 to play does this. If I play out there again Ill go to PB Dye or Worthington Manor. Those courses are less expensive and are on par or better than Whiskey Creek.

One of my favorite courses in Maryland. Great layout, beautiful views especially in autumn, great conditions, nice staff, good food and great drink selection. Two small issues: the practice range and chipping greens are not ideal for practicing; little maintenance of the chipping green and an elevated practice range. The second problem is the price; pricey for the area, but again, one of the best courses in Maryland.

A Private User

There are multiple great public courses in the area, but this Ernie Els layout is the best. Fantastic vistas and visually beautiful. Classic risk/rewards on several holes with payoffs worth the gamble. Some great elevation changes that make you think. Not a big hitter, but enjoyed the challenges off the blue tees of real par 5s and demanding par 4s. Great conditions and a staff that makes the day enjoyable.

I just visited Whiskey Creek for the first time, it was a really nice course, clean and well kept, staff were all very friendly. But the standout of my experience was Chef Mathews food; amazing! I would go back again just to eat. We only ordered appetizers as an afternoon snack, but I wish we had ordered more to eat because it was all wonderful! Try the wings, they are the best.

One of the best public courses in MD behind Bulle Rock and maybe one or two in Ocean City. Beautiful views and fun, different, challenging holes. Almost every hole could be a "signature" hole on another course. Conditions are usually top notch and some great deals can be found on GolfNow. Staff is friendly and food & drinks are pretty good as well. Highly recommend.

So glad I found this course, thanks to Golf Advisor! This is an awesome track wound around a hill and very tough layouts with some target golf called for. Conditions were great and a very memorable finishing hole....Michael in the pro shop was a great guy to chat with prior to my round, very good people here overall. Well worth the drive if you are in the DMV area.

This golf course is always methodically on point. You cant go wrong here.. its a tough course but you recall how beautiful the layout is. The fall time this is a must visit for locals. The vistas where you can look out over the valley and see fall in all of its glory is inspiring... not for lower scores .. but inspiring to the spirit!

I really enjoy playing Whiskey Creek. Its a beautiful well kept course. A fair challenge for a weekend warrior like myself. Yes, its more than I typically pay for a round. But when I want to treat myself or a guest to something nice Whiskey Creek is the place to go.

One of my favorite golf courses. Good clubhouse very well maintained course and very good and personable staff. Upscale public golf course. Nice driving range that is free if u play a round. Pricey on the weekend but good rates after work.

Gem of a course-beautiful scenery, well manicured and scenic old barn foundations on the 18th. I love sitting on the front porch of the log clubhouse with a morning coffee before the round.
