Its not bad. Dont Expect to see a big amusement park like Six Flags, but its still fun. It is especially a park for the young at the minor age, it is a park for major also but the atmosphere is much for young teenagers. There is a good roller coaster the Desert Storm (it is cool) and the Patriot (small, but good for now). I love the Go Kart track! Very well done. The Tower Drop is nice too, it rises slowly and draws fast. The arcade is not bad, beautiful decoration. The water slide on boat could be better, made too much noise and closed the winter, yet in Phoenix its hot year round. Anyway, I like Castles N Coastes. I would like them to enlarge it and add some roller coasters, 2 thats not enough! I recomand this place to them who have nothing to do to come for a ride here!

I would give ZERO stars if I could! I brought 6 kids ages 15-4 to check out Castles and Coasters for the first time since moving to Arizona. What a JOKE! First off, their height requirement signage is NOT universal. That made me furious when my 4 1/2 year waited patiently in line at a ride where she clearly was tall enough at one sign but NOT tall enough at the front of the line and was told she could not ride! The facility is clearly not well maintained and hires young adults that do NOT like people! They give dirty looks to parents and kids. They dont speak up. They dont seem to care if their job is done well (except for that one worker that booted my 4 1/2 yr old out of the one ride line with not a single empathetic bone in her body!) I opted to get my youngest a pretzel from the food line. While waiting 25 minutes for 1 single pretzel, I noticed the food servers were NOT wearing disposable gloves or hair nets (SO GROSS). They had no clear system to provide food ordered and paid for efficiently to the many people just standing around waiting. In my 25 minutes of waiting, 3 people had been completely forgotten about! I did opt to voice my concerns to the manager on duty. I first went to customer service where yet another job hating employee was working. He told me "I dont know where my manager is." I asked politely for him to find his manager so I could talk to him. He replied "I dont know if I can find him." Whether that was an attempt at getting me to go away or if he was being honest... THATS NOT HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS! Once the manager arrived, I explained how upset I was about their incorrect signage and some other park issues. He was more focused with making me feel like I was some annoyingly loud customer (which, I remained calm and collective the entire time we spoke so that just made me lose even more respect for this facility) I walked away unsure of why he even bothered speaking with me because he didnt seem to care about what I was saying! I would NEVER recommend this place as something fun to do in Phoenix after the day we had. My best advice... save your money and go to a quality run place like Disney! Its not that much more because not only is this place ridiculous in every way possible... its extremely OVERPRICED!

Its a good inexpensive amusement park. Dont go expecting Six Flags or Disneyland and your expectations will be met. The arcade is great - a good balance of redemption games vs video games and its probably one of the most up to date arcades Ive ever been to in AZ. They also have one of the best collection of retro games upstairs. Miniature golf is fun, there are 4 courses to choose from and water runs through the entire course. We went on a Friday and it was a big enough course so we were able to take our time and mess around without worrying about holding up anybody elses game. The Ride Park is what you pay for. $20 for entry and there are some fun rides that you can do unlimited times and unlike the big parks, you can re ride every ride immediately after getting off. We always were able to choose our own seats. The height limits were a bit strange... Some signs said my son couldnt ride but when we got to the front, another sign would say he could. One ride measured his height with a doorknob on a door... My suggestion is to always just ask the attendant and ignore the confusing signs. Bumper cars and bumper boats were great. Well maintained and fun courses that they give you plenty of time to enjoy unlike at some other places where they cut you off after 5 laps. My main gripes would have to be the food and drinks. Firstly, no alcohol in the park and the food is your basic nachos and cheeseburgers. Your better off leaving the park and grabbing food at a nearby restaurant. Safety features arent the best, so if you have a little one I would say hold on to them tightly when entering/exiting rides. And last, a few rides were shutdown which was no big deal, but then when it started to rain (it wasnt pouring, just a very light rain) nearly all the rides closed. Last thing to mention: The new Dark Ride located in the arcade was fantastic. Very state of the art immersion rail shooter with a motion theater that has flashing lights and strong wind effects. The game/movie was almost on par with some of the attractions you would experience at Universal Studios. The ride costs an additional $5 charge which I hope they would lower or get rid of soon, but regardless, its something you dont want to miss when visiting Castles N Coasters.

I so badly would have loved to give 5 stars. The staff was so amazingly friendly, and we did have fun. But heres why only 2 stars: We went on a Friday afternoon with our 5 year old before traveling back to Idaho. I had checked hours beforehand to make sure the ride park was open. We drove 45 minutes to get there from where we were staying only to be told by the admission counter that only 6 of the rides were operating until 5 then all the rides would open. (We went at noon.) Nowhere on the website did it say that only some rides would be open. I would have been fine with that except for the fact they charged FULL ADMISSION with only 40% of the rides running. We had to measure our daughter too to make sure she was tall enough to go on the ones that were running, she could only ride 4. We had come so far, and she was so excited to go, so we went ahead and did it and made the most of it. The staff was amazing. I felt really bad for two of them that got verbally assaulted by another parent because his child was too small to go on pretty much anything that was open. The poor guy operating the Magic Carpet was bored out of his mind because it was mostly small children there at the time. I guess I can understand why its not cost effective to operate all the rides on non peak hours. But its pretty crappy to charge full admission and operate rides that small children cant ride on when the majority of your park goers at that time are small children. Maybe it would be better to charge less for the ride pass if not all rides are available and then charge an upgrade fee later in the day when they all open. Or run things like the Carousel instead of the Magic Carpet.
