I wanted to buy my own equipment, they helped me buy my start-up kit. I wanted to teach kids how to fly fish through SOS and WECMRD, they volunteered their time and helped save money. I wanted to get better equipment and gain more knowledge as I advanced, they showed me the way. This is my community shop. Absolutely love everyone who works there. Its more than just a shop, the FFO store is like the local favorite barber shop. Everyone stops in to talk fly fishing, music, skiing, etc. Im a better fisherman because of how honest and helpful they are sharing their knowledge, and they are engaged with the community. I go out of my way to see them to shop and talk fly fishing.

What an absolutely fantastic group of people!!! I fished with them for several days with great success; attended their Orvis school at the Lodge at Cordillera with my family; fished with my family; fished with my son and his friends; fished with my daughter and her friends!!!! Every single experience was exceptional in every way. The friendliness of the guides and their interaction with us (especially the kids), their knowledge of the rivers, and the quality of their equipment beat every expectation. If you are fishing anywhere in the Vail Valley, you have to use Fly Fishing Outfitters and their people. Over our three weeks, they became part of our family. Thanks gentleman for helping make this our best vacation ever!

Excellent Orvis fly shop! My husband and I are novice fly fishermen and owner John was so helpful in guiding us to gear we need as we start to get into the sport. He spent about 45 minutes describing all the stuff and whats important for beginners and what can wait til we know what were doing! We ended up going back a few hours later and bought a rod, reel, line, and various other things for our new hobby from the general manager (whose name I cant remember, sorry!) Well stocked shop, very knowledgeable, experienced staff, great location!

We have a home in the area, were active fly fishers and find this to be the least friendly shop in the valley. We gave it another try today, and while there were plenty of staff hanging around, no one offered to help us. We got the distinct feeling that since we werent on a guided trip (even though we were spending decent money on flies), we werent important. That kind of attitude starts from the top.

Went on my first drift boat fly fishing trip and wow did I ever have a blast. 20++ fish landed and I probably missed about as many. Kip was a great guide that is an open book. Kip took my reading water skills to a whole new level! John the owner is a great guy that was super helpful and friendly.
