I cannot recommend this theater over Tiger 13 located in Opelika - also a Carmike cinema. This theater severely needs renovated and updated. The seats are old and uncomfortable and the screens are much smaller than its rival in Opelika. They also dont observe the free refills on popcorn and soda that other Carmike theaters do (other than large sized). Another annoyance several in my party have observed is a fluctuating noise emanating from the fire system - what is this and how can we fix it? For these reasons alone, the price youre paying (the same as other local theaters) is just not worth it. One upgrade they have added recently is the inclusion of Carmikes Big D (similar to IMAX) format. Its a larger screen and upgraded sound that is worth visiting for. One advantage this theater has over its rival in Opelika is an arcade for those who enjoy battling their friends in Time Crisis.

September 09, 2017 : My husband and I were on Date night to an R rated movie. The movie theatre was filled with underage kids who were "unaccompanied" by any adults. The kids kept up a cacophony of sound, screaming, shouting; several adult patrons complained to the manager to no avail. Husband asked manager to simply check the IDs of the 50+ kids involved (which should have been done at ticket purchase) ; manager refused. This was a violation of the law. Seemed he was frightened of all those children. Ten minutes into movie we still couldnt hear anything from the screen. All adult audience members left the theatre in disgust. We will not return.

Before, when it was carmkie cinemas, I would give it 5 starts. Now, AMC is much more expensive, and we all know the price to go to a movie is outrageous anyway. The service is mediocre. Even the specials less special than before. My husband and I used to go to the movies once a month and we would take the kids as often as we could (considering the amount of movies mashed around their age group), but now we hardly go. We just arent impressed. Wish we could change back to Carmike.

I chose a lower star rating based on the (lack of) appeal of the sound systems in their viewing areas. Either the sound is too soft (allowing the blowout sound from the adjoining screening rooms to bleed in heavily) or far too loud (introduing high distortion elements and an overall overwhelming soundfield production.) They lost THX certification a while back and seem to have gone downhill in terms of sound integrity, steadily, since they opened.

This is a pretty good theater. Decent screen technology considering the size of Auburn, AL. The theater recently installed the Coke Freedom machine which 1) allows free drink refills and 2) lets you pick from many permutations of flavors. Also new for 2017 - Beer! You can get a decent bottle of beer (pseudo-craft beer, as in Sierra Nevada) for cheaper than ATL airport: $5.50/bottle.

I go to this movie theater all the time, since its the only one in the Auburn area. The only time I really had a bad experience was when the manager harassed me and my family because he was racist and thought we were thugs who snuck into the theater (a family of 8 people...really?). But other than that douche of a manager who is still employed, its awesome!

Excellent location close to mall but not inside it; easy in and out! Clean inside and out with large comfortable chairs with tiered seating so no heads block your viewing. Food is expensive but about normal for movie theaters these days. Overall, highly recommended especially considering the other theaters in the area. This is your BEST CHOICE.

Terrible customer service, I was overcharged and instead of an apology and a refund I received rude customer service by Corey and the mistake was his fault. The manager stood right there also like I was just an inconvenience. The experience made me not want to patronize this theatre anymore.

Great prices! Pretty clean facilities. Didnt eat anything, so I cant say anything on that. The movie room I was in was pretty small. Im from another city and the theaters there are bigger, but theyre not as clean and theyre more expensive. I like this theater :)

Ive probably been here like at least a dozen times with my friends. Staff has always been courteous, and if you go during the bargain hours and split a popcorn with someone, its very affordable.

For some reason open only after 12:30, the tickets are sold in the same place where you buy the food, and people seems lost. The sound and quality of the movie is very good.

workers were all rude, screen was black through all previews, lights were on throughout whole movie. tried complaining and got blown off multiple times.
