This theater is fantastic. Its the newest theater in the Auburn/Opelika area and it shows. They have Carmikes large format BigD theater which is a nice experience (this is not imax). The ticket and snack line are set up well with one line feeding into multiple registers. This speeds things up considerably and prevents the ticket line roulette issues of yesteryear. They also offer FREE refills on all sodas and popcorn. ALL SIZES. This is a great benefit for the increased prices you end up paying at movie theaters. You can run out of your movie and get a quick refill whenever you feel like it. This is one of the best movie theaters Ive been to. It doesnt offer alcohol, restaurant food, or some of the other gimmicks that the "higer" end movie theaters do. They focus on the movie experience itself and it shows. All of the screens are appreciably bigger than other theaters Ive been to. They also have a game called TimePlay that you can participate in before the movie starts. You can win a large popcorn if you place first. This isnt a big deal but always a nice touch to offer free items just for participating. Its also worth noting the super bargain matinee times (4-530). Prices are a couple bucks cheaper during this time if youre looking to save a little. Also, Carmike has a reward system with 1 point per dollar. Its not the best but its at least something! If youre looking for the best movie going experience in the Auburn/Opelika area, this is it. You wont be disappointed.

Ive never had such a bad experience at any theater in my life. The customer service was beyond rude. They wouldnt even speak to say hello or ask if they could help who was next. They raised their hand and stood silently until someone saw them. We asked for a plastic nacho tray or chip boat to help our kids split their candy and was not only told no in the rudest most condescending voice possible but called us liars when we told them weve always been able to. Just about all of the coke machines were out of everything or not working at all. The cashier mumbled under her breath as we walked away. They didnt fill up our popcorn bucket completely and walked away from the counter before we could ask them to please top it off. The theater itself is very nice and much closer to our home. However, we will make the drive to columbus from now on. Will not be back.

Worst experience I ever had at a movie theater. Went to go see "IT" at night and there were people in the back having full on loud conversations during the movie. After people asked them politely to be quiet they constantly got up during the movie and caused even more noise. This all could be avoided if staff were stationed in the screenings themselves to make sure people arent ruining the movie for others. Only other thing that was disappointing was just food as we paid $10 for stale gourmet popcorn. Disappointing that AMC theaters care less about these things as it makes people not want to go at all and just wait for it to come out to rent it. My advice dont go here if you have a choice just too overpriced and would be cheaper and more enjoyable just to wait to rent

Nice because its new, but concessions far too expensive (even by movie theater standards), the ticket booth needs separating from the concessions, the green EXIT signage in the theater itself glows onto the screen so darker scenes are ruined. Finally recently went to see SPECTRE and had to sit through 1 hour of mostly complete garbage aimed at people with an attention span of 10 seconds and about a DOZEN trailers before the film started. This theater company needs to up its game, unfortunately since they have a monopoly in this town, unlikely to happen. I will continue to patronize it only because its the only choice.

Thanks for the friendly service. Most places just herd you through like cattle. A few people part of the staff... the team leader at the concessions and the manager wearing the grey suit went above and beyond. Simple things like helping a dad with a ton of candy and popcorn to open the theater door...and acknowledging me for service at the concession stand really set these two employees apart from the rest. Thanks and Ill be back next weekend.

Always liked this "Carmike" theater and was sceptical when AMC bought out, but seems like a pretty smooth transition so far. My only complaint is that you cannot get popcorn salt anymore - at all! I love my popcorn but not without the salt. They only offer table salt. When I asked about it they just said they were not able to offer it anymore. So for me - that loses a star!

Been here many a time without issue before ownership change. $5 Tuesdays are now a cluster where youd better arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled movie time only to wait 20-30 minutes in line because "premium" guests are allowed to skip the line and the three cashiers are averaging 7 minutes per group. Very disappointed, likely will not return.

Great experience except for the popcorn customer service - she smiled, never spoke and acted like it was too much trouble to let me layer the butter. She actually huffed but never spoke. I made her speak and told her I really hoped she had a wonderful day!! It truely made me mad before we even sat down. Saturday July 9, 9:40 cst!!!

My favorite theater! One of Carmikes newest theaters, too. Being a server infrastructure enthusiast/nerd, I love that they display their digital servers in a room off to the side - an amazingly cool touch! I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens seven times at this theater alone - great screens, great sound, and good (expensive) food.

We love this theater, even more than the ones in Columbus where we just moved from. We also experienced the attitude with the popcorn server. Every once in awhile we get that at the ticket counter. Wish everyone could train like Chick Fil A employees! Pay too much money to have to deal with poor attitudes.

This was the first time we have been since they changed names. Dont get there early of yoi can help it...No future movie previews, 5 of the same skittle commercials back to back, and multiples of the same commercial for other products. I guess Ill be going to auburn carmike from now on. That was annoying.

Is a clean theater with a good selection of movie times and snacks. The staff is cordial and helpful as well. The only drawback is trying to take the family to see a movie costs $100 now one you get tickets for everyone and popcorn and drinks. Thank goodness for Tuesday where tickets are half price.

Excellent experience!!! The popcorn tastes fresh and not burnt or stale. The drinks are fresh. The seating is clean and comfortable. Prices are a little high, but its worth it for the experience.

Efficient and courteous employees, Big D, good temperature, buy tickets at concession stand, all registers open, but like all theaters now, very expensive (especially concession stand).

The Big D theater is mind blowing. Comfortable seating and a HUGE screen. The staff has always been pleasant when I visit. This is definitely my favorite theater in town.

Its a great theater but they heavily promote TimePlay and about 50% of the time it doesnt work or their Wi-Fi is down, which is required to do TimePlay.
