Holy guac chairs! Ive been hearing about AMC Courthouse being the best theater in this area from friends but until yesterday hadnt experienced it for myself. I grew up in Arlington and the old AMC Courthouse was dirty, uncomfortable, one of the worst. Theyve recently renovated and have things improved! One of the first things I heard about the new AMC Courthouse was the comfortable, reclining leather chairs. Indeed, these chairs are awesome. Theyre so cozy my boyfriend fell asleep during the first ten minutes of Captain America. And unlike other theater seats, theyre wide enough so you can put your purse in the same seat. Because they have these reclining leather chairs, there are not as many seats in this theater as other theaters, but I would sacrifice seat availability for seat comfort. Plus, as many reviewers mentioned, you can now purchase tickets online before you get here and pick your own seats, so no more having to come early and stake out seats for you and your friends.

Okay, I have mixed feelings about writing this review because The AMC Courthouse is a hidden gem and over-crowding would take away from the overall experience. However, I still feel the need to give it an excellent review. First of all, each of the seven or eight theatre rooms hold around 60-70 people and all the chairs are red leather over-sized electronic lazy boys... yes, really. To get a ticket, you reserve a seat online and dont have to play the "where in the world do I sit" game upon arrival. The other thing I love about the AMC Courthouse is there the Coke machine with 100 choices of soda (my new favorite is Raspberry Diet Coke). The only downside is its very, very warm in the theatre (and if there happens to be one inconsiderate person who brings their two year old) well everyone hears every word.... but I digress. My only other semi-complaint is the bathrooms are not that clean - but the movie theater experience w/chairs and reservations is amazing. The End.

This is a really fantastic theater thats just as easily metro accessible as it is to park at. Its surrounded by great shops and restaurants on top of that. But the real reason to go here is for the seats. This theater has leather recliner chairs that really are incredibly comfortable. I also really like that you can reserve your seat ahead of time. While it is a tad more expensive than other theaters in the DC area, it is totally worth it. Back to the parking though, if youre going during the day monday-friday, you will have to pay for parking in the lot, but if its after 6pm, then you should be fine. But keep in mind that the metro stop is literally right at the doors of the theater. Might want to avoid taking your parents to this theatre though...I took mine and they just ended up falling asleep in the recliners, hahaha!

Being able to choose your seats for your movie, arrive stress free and then recline in your leather good sized seat is a huge positive. Order your tickets, pick your seats ahead of time, and pick up your tickets at one of the 4 kiosks outside the theater or one inside. (Its covered in case its raining) Parking is tough- but there is a lot, pay to park business hours, and surrounding street parking. The food is nothing special, theres no alcohol either, theres theaters like iPic and Alamo Draft-house if you really want to eat and watch a movie though. I can only speak for the womens but the bathroom is consistently atrocious here, fyi. The neighborhood this theater is in is perfect for a dinner and a movie type of night. Theres bars, restaurants of all types, and quick food within waking distance!

I enjoy this theater but because of the reduced seating it is almost required you purchase ticket online in advance through Fandango. I accidentally purchased tickets for the wrong day and was unable to get a exchange via Fandango customer service because it was not more than 2 hours before the (wrong) movie was supposed to start. They would not make and exception to their policy even though I had made 3 purchased with their site that day. This is the sort of refund Ive gotten from movie theaters before when there have been mix ups with tickets. I am disappointed because it was an honest mistake and now my only choice is to repurchase the tickets and waste the ticket price plus fees. I will be avoiding Fandango in the future and theaters that use their service.

This movie theatre has ruined all other movie theaters for me. I no longer go to see movies anywhere else. I now expect my movie viewing experience to be what AMC Courthouse provides. I thoroughly appreciate the convenience of buying tickets online beforehand with seat reservations made in advance, so you dont have to arrive early, and, speaking of the seats, they are plush, luxurious, uber comfortable reclining seats, which are especially nice when movies are 2+ hours long. My only negative comment is that sometimes big blockbusters dont show here, which is slightly disappointing. Overall however, I highly recommend that you visit AMC Courthouse, but just know that youll instantly become spoiled and never view a regular movie theatre the same way again.

AMC at Courthouse was the first in the area to add reclining seats to their theaters. A few years ago they were very nice, and they still are, but the leather where you rest your head is beginning to wear off on most seats (seats near end have less of this). At one point they had covers to solve this problem but they arent there any more. The staff there are always very nice and with AMC stubs premiere you get to wait in your own separate line to get to your movie faster. Any decent movie will easily fill the theater, so make sure you buy your tickets online and early, dont ever want until you get there 10 minutes before the movie starts. Overall a very nice place to enjoy movies.

Underwent a drastic remodeling of the theater last year, which has totally changed my opinion of this establishment. Last year, it was just a normal theater, but they replaced all the standard, boring, uncomfortable seats with large, comfy, reclining seats. Alongside this remodeling, they also have a different system when it comes to buying tickets, in that you are able to reserve seats when you purchase tickets (either online or in-person). With these changes, now I get disappointed when theyre not showing a certain movie and I have to walk over to the AMC in Georgetown. It is easily my favorite place to watch movies, outside of watching movies at home.

I absolutely love this theater. The facilities are amazing! Reserved seating and barcaloungers!! Its heaven! However, there are two huge things that this theater lacks: 1) No IMax capabilities 2) Variety - They keep movies for way too long! I rather come to this theater than any other in the area, but they always keep movies for too many weeks (i.e., they are still showing "Silver Linings Playbook" to this day and have been showing a childrens movie in two different cinemas for many weeks), which causes me to go to other theaters. I wish they would keep up with new releases a lot better; I would definitely go more often if this were the case.

I like it here so much. I do a lot of movie watching in this theater. Let me tell you about the first time I went. So there I was. I was like whatever I am going to see the new Fast and Furious BY MYSELF because whatever. I loved it man. I showed up, had the whole theater to myself. I was able to sprawl out even though I am a staggering 5 feet tall. It was the best. THE BEST. I have since gone there so many times to see movies with friends, family, dates, more friends, my invisible friends, etc. Sometimes I make friends while I am there. I usually start with, "yo, arent these chairs MAD COMFY???" The consensus is yessus.
