It was our 2nd escape room. We were out celebrating my birthday. As usual, the staff is super friendly and entertaining. The directions given before hand are necessary but take way too long. The rooms are very challenging and it is so much fun!!! This time around it was not as great of an experience , however. There were a couple of things that were either not set up correctly or wouldnt work properly even though we had the right code. They tried to make up for it by having us skip that obstacle and then added 5 minutes onto our time, but I feel that was I suffiecient. We spent more than 5 min looking for an object that was supposed to be there, but wasnt. It was the most difficult room and I feel like there was a good chance we would have run out of time anyway, but dont feel like we had a good chance at it. They did let us finish and get our way out of the room after the timer was up, so that was nice that we could actually complete it. Either way, we had a lot of fun and we will likely return some other day to try our luck again at a different room. Just hope everything is set up correctly next time. I would recommend the Great Escape to anyone; all ages! !

My wife and I and four friends came and had a blast. The rooms are themed (in our case, we attempted to rob a bank). While playing, they dedicate one staffer to watch you on CCTV to provide nudges in the right direction, which is a great way to keep your group having fun and making progress. While the puzzles are obviously contrived (this bank was clearly less interested in protecting their money than entertaining their clientele), none of them were exceptionally out of place, and they almost all had answers that felt like they made sense. My wife is not one who enjoys puzzles or thinking, and felt like she didnt do anything, but she also had a great time and wants to go back. Great place, great experience, and the staff was always polite and courteous.

Ive been to a total of 5 different escape room themed businesses in several different states totaling 14 rooms all together. So far I have noticed that most rooms either focus on the room itself, in terms of props, theme, immersion, etc, or the challenge in terms of solving the puzzles. The really great rooms do BOTH! The Great Escape of La Crosse is the ONLY business that I have been to that provides rooms that are totally immersive, challenging, and fun! All of their rooms provide great unique experiences and game play. Adding to the experience, is the staff. The staff are friendly, energetic, and very accommodating. When it comes to escape rooms, you cant miss with The Great Esacpe of La Crosse!

We did the CSI escape room as part of our family Staycation. My 13,14, and 15 year old had a blast and worked together really well (made this momma proud). My husband and I joked that they should have gotten t-shirts that say, "I escaped despite my mom and dad!" It is obvious that the owner of this establishment takes great joy and pride in creating the best escape rooms in town. We are now The Great Escape addicts and will definitely be returning to complete the rest of the rooms! This 60 minutes locked in a room as a family was the most fun weve had all together in a long time!, And yes... We did escape!

Our experience was amazing! Our game master was fun and energetic. We did the CSI room and it was a lot of fun with four people! A group this size is perfect because you have many different opinions and a lot of help but there arent so many that it becomes overwhelming. I could not see this working for a group of 7 or 8. Overall, it was very coordinated and organized and we really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend!

So much fun!!! My boyfriend and I loved the Mad Hatter room! Just the two of us! 2-8 people is all you need to have an awesome time! I am definitely going back again to check out the other rooms they have! Thanks Great Escape of La crosse!! Bringing back fun quality time spent with friends and/or family without electronics! I love it.

Our friends and us had a great time in the CSI room! The staff is fun and friendly and they provide a great experience! Wed love to rush back and do more but we dont want to do all of them too soon or we wont have something fun to look forward to in the future! Highly recommend trying one of the rooms here before going anywhere else!

My son and I had no idea what to expect and had never done this before. They "nudged" us in the right direction with hints allowing us to thoroughly enjoy the experience. We had lots of laughs. We both will be visiting again and I have already told lots of my friends about how much fun we had. Thanks for the Awesome time!!

Terrible experience. Owner refused to take us as we already had a reservation. Worst experience. Owner was extremely rude! Wouldnt even admit that he scheduled us on the wrong date and blamed it on us. Wouldnt even give us our money back either. I wonder what the better business bureau would think about that...

This is the most fun Ive had in a long time! I went with four co-workers and we had a fantastic time trying to get out of the Mad-hatters room. We couldnt stop smiling and laughing. I would highly recommend TGE for work groups, family get-togethers, birthday parties, and date nights. You wont be disappointed.

This was our first time in an escape room and we had a lot of fun! The workers were very nice and displayed enthusiasm for our group to have fun . There was plenty of help so that we did not get frustrated and give up. We will be back for another adventure!

Amazing! We had a blast! It was most fun thing we did in La Crosse while on vacation. The staff and owner are super friendly. The rooms are very well designed. The rooms have different difficulties so there is fun for all ages and they really get you thinking.

A small, new business that was very friendly and made sure we had a good time. Me and some friends came for a weekend 1/2 off special and tried the Bank Robbery room. It was probably one of the best ways to spend an hour in La Crosse!
