I have mixed feelings about this place. Last year we went at the end of Aug and we were literally the only ones there which was great. This year we went mid-july and if I had known what was in store I would have saved my time and money by not going. When we arrived there was so much chaos and the lines were just a jumble of people all being loud and obnoxious and smoking cigarettes under the enclosed ticket booth. We bought living social coupons which were supposed to include an ice chest rental so we didnt bring ours. They had no ice chests and all of our food was ruined. It took an hour of this obnoxious atmosphere to get up to the desk to get our bands and buy some convenience items. Then we got on the bus to go up the river. I thought we were going to die. This lady was driving this big ol bus like she was in a sports car. We get to the river where she drops us off and then gives us no further information. There are about 50 people waiting for inner-tubes because theyve run out and we have no idea when there are more coming. We just happen to find three of the tubes we paid for out in the woods deflated but not popped so we blow them up ourselves. These people have no concept of good business and instead have crammed as many people into the river as they possibly can. Theres no casually floating down the river because the whole trip is like playing bumper cars with our tubes. There are drunk douche bags everywhere blasting their music with no regards for anyone else in the river. Theres trash everywhere including beer cans, jello shot containers, and popped inner-tubes. There is no beach area to stop and swim or enjoy what bit of our food is not ruined because the beach area is loaded down with drunk idiots all blaring their music and being obnoxious. Between the massive amount of people and the tree limbs the river was not easily navigated and was not a relaxing or enjoyable experience in the slightest. If there was some way to demand a refund I would have but they make it clear in the beginning they do not give refunds for any reason, even if you pre-purchased tickets or purchased tickets that were supposed to include something they have run out of. At best they give you a voucher for a free return trip. I will not ever waste my time or money here again and I suggest you dont waste yours either.

Ive been a few times and the staff is less than desirable. The bus driver is rude and aggressive. Also my friend was pretty much kidnapped by a male employee last year. He was giving her a ride to our car on the four wheeler (she had the ice chest and was having trouble carrying it back) Well when we got to the car she was nowhere to be found. She came walking back a while later completely freaked and started crying when she got in the car. Not cool AT ALL. They need to be a little more observant of what their employees are doing or they could end up with a lawsuit. ALSO another huge incident happened 3 days ago. The trip was great until about an hour to the end. A huge storm came out of nowhere. The lightning was so close. We had no idea what to do. All we could do was get out the river, untie our tubes, and run to the end (which took us an hour). You are COMPLETELY on your own once they release you. I could not believe they didnt have some kind of plan for this. This was seriously hurricane type weather and Ive never been more scared in my life. Some points didnt have land for you to walk so we were forced back into the river. Also Ive never seen this place so busy. The river was packed with people. A lady had a panic attack and was crying on one of the beach sides. AND once we got back to the front THERE WERE NO EMPLOYEES. I was FUMED. I scrapped up my knees and had multiple cuts on my feet from trying to escape the terrible lighting storm. Thankfully no one in my group was harmed, but I know other groups werent so lucky.

This is a very fun experience, but it does have a few downfalls. First of all, I would not call this a family oriented place. Most of the people that go here are looking to party and be rowdy. If is definitately an "Adult Atmosphere." At the end of the trip, you will always see a few people passed drunk, and barely floating along on their tubes. If you wouldnt take the people or children with you to a bar or a nightclub, then dont take them here. Check the water level on this Amite River before you go, the river does tend to get pretty shallow in some places, and you may end up walking and dragging your tube if the river is low. There are a lot of fallen trees and logs underwater, so be cautious of that. It is a great place to let loose and get a little wild if you want to, but if thats not what youre looking for head somewhere else.

PLEASE DONT GO HERE!!! This is a death trap, this should not be a fee, everything is at your own risk, anyone who is stupid enough to to go should be able to bring an old tire and ride out on there on , because that is what this basically was ... my suggestion to better accommodate the trip is someone need to bring a group and that group should stay together and if someone was to flip out of their tube or get caught in the bushes there is someone there to rescue them....

This was not an enjoyable trip for us. The tube pricing was disappointing, there was so much trash along the river, rocks cluttered the beaches, FULL of drunks exposing themselves and jumping from insane heights, and what was worse was how shallow the water was. We literally had to get out of our tubes most of the way and PULL it. I only wish thered have been some warning that the water was THAT low...

Once you get on the river it is a nice float. However, it is horribly organized. We waited in line for 2 hrs just to get tickets, tubes and get on the water. If you go on a weekend make sure to get out there early. There is another place "Waynes World" on the near by Bogue Chitto river I would recommend.

6/8/13 - The staff there is awful. They hire teenagers for the summer and those kids dont care and are rude. Bunch of drunks playing EXTREMELY loud rap music all over. HUGE GIANT trees sticking out of the water. Very hard to maneuver. The current is VERY strong! Will not be going back.

What a horrible nightmare! I dont understand how this place is open. Be aware: once you get the river, you are in your own. I got sick at the begining of the trip, and had to walk five hours to the final point, no matter how many time I called them, not body was there to help!

The Stray-X

Very fun but there are lots of rocks and trees which made it fun. We only had to wait a few minutes for our tubes and papers very nice place and well organized . Would reccomend if you like to have fun
