I love the Ruby but I wish the seats could be less crowded, if someone sits in front of you, or worse, your child, you have to be like an ostrich and crane your neck to see around their head. But once in a while getting the front balcony seats makes up for it. There is one gal thats doing the concessions now, shes not very friendly, never smiles never says thank you or youre welcome um hmm is the best Ive ever gotten out of her. Honestly it makes me not want to buy concessions anymore. Maybe some customer service training could help.

Historical place over 100 years old. They historical pictures and information relating to that sea playing on the screen before the movie. When it is time to start the movie they send a person out who tells some information about the movie playing and information about the theater, and that alone is awesome I think but over all it isnt a remap so dont expect reclining chairs and luxurious seating, seating is still comfortable. Just love this movie theater overall.

5 stars for the unique experience. Small, historic theater that is one of the oldest in WA. The interior has been recently renovated. The screen is smaller than your average theaters. Films shown are first run. Prior to the showing, one of the theaters owners will present on stage an introduction that includes an overview and facts about the film which is a very unique experience. Recommend catching a flick while youre in town just for the experience.

The Ruby Theater is over 100 (since 1914) years of age .. the longest continually-running theater in the Pacific Northwest! Back in the late 1970, I was the evening manager. I learned from a former owner and dramatic soprano opera singer, Dolores Anna Strazicich-Holt, that they used tons of horseshoes as re-bar in the original construction. I still enjoy seeing movies there. :)

Every visitor to Chelan should take in a movie at the Ruby at least once. Its comfortable, old-time friendly, relatively inexpensive, and quintessential Americana - especially in the off season. What the screen lacks in size the place makes up for in atmosphere! Enjoy!

Hate to do this. There were servers spots open and lady today didnt want to let us in even when we were 15 min late. They had the wrong showing and said phones werent allowed inside while we were waiting for a friend to come. Definitely dont recommend the experience.

Its fine. Older theater offers a single movie at a time. Two shows on the weekends, one during the week. The seats are not exactly comfortable. The good news: concessions are very well priced!

Love the atmosphere and historic touch from 1914, even had a employee give movie fun facts before it started. Just wish they had cup holders for your drinks. Great theater overall.

Absolutely love all those involved in the Ruby theater!! Great atmosphere. Found those selling at the concession very friendly. Whole experience was such a treat.

The new seats are confrable and it can get crowed and you dont have much space. Just hope someone tall doesnt sit in front of you.
