Unfortunately they had very rude staff. I bought a ticket in Stehikin from the captain explaining that I was hiking and headed to Chelan for supplies. He charged me the oneway fair which was higher than I read about in my book. He seemed very busy so I didnt press the subject. When I wanted to return the next day I found out that to get the lower price you have to buy the return trip upfront which I would have gladly done if I had known this. There was no posting to explain this, no person to buy the ticket from except the captain (who I had helped earlier in the day, but I guess Karma doesnt work for me). When I tried to explain my case in Chelan upon trying to return back to Stehikin, I was met with indifference and rudeness by the staff. None of this is a big deal, sure I was a poor hiker with very little cash, but if there is some regulation that prevents someone from selling a two way ticket and there isnt anything you can do about it then fair enough. What I didnt like was how rude the staff was to me. They just said well too bad and you can just pay for the higher fee or leave. Is there no humanity left in the world? Just share some compassion or empathy for me. I guess there are a lot of robots just collecting money and handing out products. Very sad.

Beautiful ride, the captain and a couple of the older crew are major grumps. One year my camping bag was unloaded at the wrong stop Prrince Creek). The next day I asked the captain of the boat to please look for my bag on the way back to Chelan, and even though it say on the rocky shore all weekend, he never bothered to bring it to me. It had my sleeping bag and food in it. Another year as I was boarding the boat from Moore Pt to Stehekin with my daughter, he called me out over the loud speaker, saying I was trying to board without a ticket, even though I was traveling with a troop of boys scouts. This year, my wife was looking out the door to watch my son depart on a hike, and a crew member jabbed her in the back to move aside. Theyre nice enough when giving the tour guide speeches over the intercom, and when theyre trying to sell the rainbow falls tour (well worth it), just seriously lacking on interpersonal skills. The younger people selling concessions and helping out are super nice. Hopefully one of them will learn how to drive the boat and put the older ones out of their clear misery.

We take this ferry several times a year and have generally had only positive experiences. These boats function as something between a ferry running from one of Lake Chelan to the other delivering mail, goods and people and as a tour boat for day-trippers and vacationers. The crew can be brusque at times, particularly when there are lots of people, luggage and cargo that have to be loaded, but never rude. In the summer time they have both the express boat running as well as the slow boat. The express boat shaves a couple of hours off the trip (each way) but personally I enjoy traveling on the slow boat as it forces me to slow down and enjoy the ride and get into the Stehekin pace. The slow boat also makes whistle stops along the lake at trail heads and remote cabins, pushing bow first against the bank letting passengers on and off the boat via a gangplank pushed over the bow. If you only have time for a day trip, then take the Express up and the slow boat down as it gives you more time in Stehekin. Otherwise, take the slow boat up lake and the express back.

If you want to enjoy a beautiful day while in Lake Chelan. I recommend purchasing tickets and riding the lady of the lake tour. Its a beautiful 4hr cruise up the lake to Stehekin Wa.. the views are incredible all the way up the lake with historical info from the caption.. once you reach the north end you get to experience a quick 1 1/2hr layover in Stehekin Wa where you can take a tour bus to see rainbow Falls or check out the local shops or locals stories and cafe or take in their ways of life before your return back down lake...

We had a great time on the Lady of the lake, it was a great time to just sit back and relax and take in the awesomeness of the lake and the mountains that seem to grow right out of it. The relaxing 4 hour ride up lake was great and the 1.5 hour ride back on the Lady Cat was great too as we needed to get back to Chelan to keep the adventure going. Highly recommend taking the boat trip to Stehekin. A beautiful trip to a place of wonder.

The faster boat is great, but the boat that takes 4+ hours is way too long and boring. The restaurant there is good and Rainbow falls is pretty..but $9.00 for the little bus ride there is pretty $$$. Not much to do when you get there tho so it is the best thing to do there.

I was returning from Holden to Chelan. My checked bag was labeled Chelan and they did not ask me where my destination was when I handed them my bag. Idiots left my bag on the dock at Fields Point. Lucky nobody messed with it.

Nice trip if you want to relax & enjoy the widespread waters of Chelan. If there is an option to go & come by express boat you can save a couple of hours. The beauty of the lake is enchanting when you reach stehekin

Ride the "Lady of the Lake" ferry to the 18 mile long Chelan Lakeshore Trail which follows the shore between Stehekin and Prince Creek. Scenic mountain and lake views.

Boat is going to are very beautiful location. 3 stars because it is very difficult to seat several hours on not comfortable seats and in very hot cabin.
