The room moderator did not check the equipment and a pivotal tool was broken. To make matters worse, she was not watching us to notice that it was broken and we had it for approximately 15 minutes (which is a long time in an hour game.) We had to stop the game, she replaced the broken item and had to add time. This really took a lot of the excitement out for me. Ive done about ten of these rooms and have never had this problem. The overall game was a challenge and a good theme, but there was a bunch of busy work with only a couple major clues. And to cap off my experience, I dropped my business card into the "win a free game" bucket. They called me about my business card, (I got so excited that I won) but quickly realized that I did not win and they were just using my information to get me to spend more money with them. Maybe I missed that part of the sign but I think they should only call if you win. Or make it clear you will get a call if you leave your card. Just came off a bit shady.

We had a great time and the staff was very friendly. The reason for the lack of 1 star was due the fact that there were some small details that should be taken care of so the "guide" doesnt have to help you as much. I am not sure if this would be true for all Breakout locations but this happened in Asheville "hostage" room. For example, we had to spell something out and the correct letter of the word was not there, it was a different letter so the correct word for one of our locks wasnt even a real word. We never would have gotten that right without help. Also a particular instance when something didnt line up correctly and so since we were close they helped us, which we were grateful for dont get me wrong, we just felt if those were corrected it might make the experience a little better. Overall we did have a great time and will continue to other Breakout game rooms, this was our second adventure and we had a blast both times. Thanks!

I went with a group of friends (7 women), a young couple was added to our group. The young couple, especially the young man, worked a lot faster and was more aggressive than we were and since we were older I dont think he thought we could really contribute much to the clue solving. Our participation was limited. BUT, the management saw that we didnt get the opportunity to play as a team and they made it right, without us having to complain or say a word. We did the Kidnapped theme and we all thought it could be a lot of fun and were a little disappointed until our gamemaster gave us good news that we could come back and do it again. So I highly recommend this fun, exciting, challenging event. We cant wait to go back and do it again! And we were very impressed with the management and their quick and decisive way they handled our situation.

It was an incredibly enjoyable experience from the initial sign in, where the lovely young lady engaged in lively conversation about comics and facehuggers, to the final farewell that Faith gave us. All in all the entire thing was handled incredibly well. The customer service was top notch, the instructions were clear, our "narrator/host" was Faith, and she was a lot of fun to interact with. The facility was clean, the rooms seemed clean and well prepared. The puzzles were interesting and fun with a level of challenge that was quite good, but not so difficult as to lead to frustration. We have already suggested to other friends that they should check it out, and see if they can beat our time in the heist, and we plan to go back to check out other rooms as well (volcano escape looks to be next).

Horrible, do it alone (not with group) (unless people you know) if you want to be heard and your opinion concidered, or maybe it was because we was playing with these lil southern bell wannabes that thought they new everything and didnt hear anything I said except one was all up on my boyfriend, cares about everything he was doing, worst date night ever, wasnt even a good story line, the guy told us all the answers over the intercom the whole time even though we was suppose to have "3 clues" to figure out how to get out within an hour. Hands down worst money ever spent and worst hour + ever spent. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. cant even give this one, one star but apparently I have to give it at least one to even post this feedback they wanted.

We did the Casino breakout room with four adults and succeeded in escaping after 58 minutes using zero hints. It was a fantastic room, with puzzles we found to be at an excellent challenge level. We had a tremendously good time and actually didnt expect to escape, but in the last few minutes we pulled it off! Minor quibble was that there were one or two items in the room that didnt quite "work" the way they were supposed to, but employee Daniel made sure this didnt get in the way of our success (as he immediately provided us with a functioning replacement).

This is a great adventure to go on while in Asheville. The people who work here are so friendly and so excited to share the fun of these games with everyone. In particular, Kyle and Alexandra worked with me specifically. They were extremely patient, so friendly, and made myself and my friends enjoy the games so much we had to do it twice in one weekend. Definitely use this spot if you are looking to try out an escape room. The staff is great, the games can be challenging, and the excitement they share with you makes the experience so rewarding.

We booked this for our 11 year olds birthday and the person we spoke with recommended the Kidnapping for this age. Nobody mentioned the more graphic part of this (body parts and blood in the sink) to me. I would have waited a few more years before doing this had I known that. Also, for younger kids a few more hints would have been helpful and allowed them a much higher chance of escaping. I wish the person who took our booking had told us that this is better for teenagers and adults so we could have made a more educated decision.

Our Corporate group of 30 had a great time at Breakout Asheville. We were greeted with smiles. The staff was ready and took us back to our chosen rooms promptly. Robert was my small group host for kidnapping. He explained the rules well and gave us a couple of encouraging pushes. Our entire group experienced Casino, Kidnapping and Hostage. They are all highly recommended! Thank you Breakout Asheville for making our experience such a fun success. We all want to return and try a different scenario.

This was our first escape room. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our walk in off the street. I got the impression they tend to work better with reservations. After selling us on a room, they scheduled us for an hour later. We got some dinner and returned. As newbies, the game master was helpful but not too helpful. The room (Hostage) was cleverly put together but some of the ending riddles were very very hard. We are excited about returning when we come back to Asheville.
