Your membership option is great for people who want to participate. Your theatre is doing so well financially that you are considered a good business model. So why do you deceptively charge a customer, wanting to pay for one movie seat an added $10 fee for your day pass price? The price on your sign is posted at $5.50 for one adult ticket. We asked for 2 adult tickets. The ticket stubs said $5.50 each, one said day pass, one said non-member, we purchased candy for $4.50. We were not given a receipt for credit card charge. We were told the tickets were our receipts. We were charged $25.50 on our credit card bill. We should have been charged $15.50, as per your posted prices and ticket receipts given. We questioned the charge the next day and were told by an employee that you always charge non-members the daily pass price, whether we ask for it or not. We would only be charged $5.50 if we were accompanied by a "Member". I was told by a local, that people frequently stand outside the theater and ask members to purchase a ticket for them at the discounted price. So actually no one is ever charged the $5.50 price posted, unless you are friends with a "member". So really, your posted prices are a deceiving business practice. I would not mind paying more than $5.50 for a one time seat price, but feel your pricing is deceiving when you tack on the $10 added fee for being a lowly non-resident. I understand how a membership could work well for the majority of patrons who live in the Oakhurst area. We live 25 miles from Oakhurst, but try to support our mountain community instead of spending our tax dollars in Fresno. Vacationing tourists may think twice about returning to your establishment, knowing you charge higher prices to nonresidents. Also, last year we watched an employee refilling buckets that your membership patrons brought from outside, by dipping the reused bucket in the popcorn. Gross. Seats are ratty, dirty, and uncomfortable.

This new membership model is awesome! It is so cheap to watch movies there now. I live 55 miles from Fresno but only 20 miles from Oakhurst and the fact that tickets and snacks are both so much cheaper and closer to home is dually AWESOME. keep up the great work! Dont let the few haters get you down, the people who dont have memberships arent actually going to save money going to Fresno and paying the Fresno cinema prices and paying for gas (plus the waste of time driving), they just like having something to complain about. After all, if we take away the membership and try to do things like a normal theater, the met cinema would just go broke and close down, again, and then EVERYONE would be complaining, again. Now that Oakhurst doesnt have a bowling alley or blockbuster, this truly is the only entertaining activity left in Oakhurst. Thanks for keeping it alive and going!

Moved here not long ago and was a little disheartened that I could not just see an occasional movie that interests me with out paying so much. However it was explained to me that it was the only way to keep a movie theater in this rural area. I recently had a nephew to entertain so I broke down and bought the $20 a month pass which allows a guest to get in for $5.50 Anyway, if you like movies and are fortunate enough to have some good ones arrive that you want to see, it really is a good deal and especially of course if you have a family! The staff is helpful and friendly! If you are a senior like I am I would just advise a small pillow for your back and make sure to bring a jacket in the event it is too cold. Which I will certainly never complain about in this Oakhurst summer heat! ; )

Im loving the subscription model, Watching as many movies as I want for $20 a month is awesome. First run films and digital projectors, all the way up here in this small little town. I cant quite give the theater 5 stars yet, as the screens could be better and the seats are pretty worn and very uncomfortable for some of the longer films. Still, they have done a lot to get this theater going again, and even with the few downsides I am so thankful to have the Met Cinema open. People complaining about the non-subscription prices have no idea what it cost to take you family to a movie anyplace else. Sure, it might be a bit pricey for a single viewer, but if you cant find a friend with a subscription to get you in then you have more issues than complaining about the prices. :)

I Love, Love, Love the MET Cinema ... beautiful place, great service and wonderful people ... someone posted a bogus comment about "price options and services" and I was personally agitated by the lack of perspective reflected in such a statement ... by way of comparison, I was recently in Southern California and one evening we were having an early dinner, the idea was thrown into the hat to "go to the movies" ... yay! Im always "all chips in" for a movie ... after the Admission Price, along with popcorn, candy and refreshments, the total was over $100.00 ... so the "price options and services" offered by the MET comment are redundant and whimsical at best ... when the truth is, the "Club Prices" are a HUGE MONEY SAVER and the Service at the MET is awesome! 10 STARS !!!

Not a giant-screen, mega theatre like AMC, but much better maintained than my local alternative Bluelight. Movies are also priced in between the two. Then, they run an interesting "day pass" program where you can enjoy all movies on one ticket that make the price point even more attractive than in Bluelight if you have the time to watch more. I am not sure of the rules, but I went with my daughter, and we watched two new releases with one pass and two junior tickets. The $27 total is much cheaper than at Bluelight. Their smart decorations are both attractive and a little bit retro. Their snacks are also less expensive than at mega theatres.

This subscription "service" is a ripoff. I joined and then emailed these people asking them to remove me from their billing process. I was informed that in order to do this, I had to drive to Oakhurst and visit the theater (which I will). Keep in mind that I HAVE NEVER EVEN SET FOOT IN THIS PLACE AND IT IS 14 MILES AWAY. What a bleeping crock. If you dont want to get caught up in this scam (because that is exactly what I think it is) just avoid this dump like you would a kennel full of rabid dogs.

Every month for the PAST SEVERAL months my membership resubscribes even though I specifically tell them when I renew my membership that I only want it for 1 month and to set it to where it does not automatically renew me each month. Ive had to call every month to have my money refunded....and this month my debit card got overcharged bc of them.

Very expensive for an old and dingy Movie theater. Chairs are terrible and outdated. My 4 year old girl kept slipping through. I asked about setting booster seat or something to keep the seat down and was given a cardboard box. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the staff was very nice and refunded our money since we had to leave.
