This was always one of my favorite summer spots growing up; of course; back in that era it was just a pool with a single waterslide. So I was excited to stop by this place and see how it had changed. Overall, the change hasnt been bad. The original hydra-tube and hydra-whip are long gone; Im not even sure if their exit pool still remains. And while the original pool is there; its been sectioned off a few times to make room for some lilly-pad things kids can climb across and a water-slide exit. While it was good to see the deeper sections still remain a pool; it was sad to not have a diving board..instead its an exit for two waterslides. While its nice splashing in to the 12ft section after flying down these short slides, I kind of miss the diving boards. The rest of the park is all new construction and usual water park fare. The "4-story" slides were OK, but not actually anything to write home about. The other two slides were pretty much the same...nothing too exciting. I didnt visit the kiddie section because, well, Im not a kid. The lazy river was a nice change, although pretty much the same as all the others; it does feature a zero-depth entry "lagoon" as an exit. However, there were some problems at this park that makes me wonder what the county is really up to. There is no outside food/beverage allowed in the park, obviously to force you to buy the over-priced food in the park when your kids complain they dont want to go back out to the car to eat (they do have hand-stamp re-entry). The price of admission for anyone over 48" is $15, a bit high in my opinion for a water-park of that size. The other issue is there are leaves everywhere! The lagoon area had leaves in the pool, the lazy river had leaves in the pool; this is because someone thought it was a smart idea to landscape the place with trees. On one hand, its just leaves; on the other..I didnt go to a waterpark just to have leaves all over the place. I mean..Im sure its a great boom for the county and makes them a lot of money; and if you live in the area its pretty much your only bet for that kind of excitement. But Id rather just pick up and go to some place like the Freedom Center or one of the other public-pools in the area.

Price is low, however the waterslide options are very limited and the slides themselves are extremely slow. Adults and kids alike experienced a huge letdown after waiting so long in line and then being so underwhelmed. The lazy river apparently has no rules requiring using the floats, so its absolute chaos with kids going the opposite way, swimming under you, pushing past you, and dangerously holding onto the wall placing their head between your raft and the brick wall. Theres nothing "lazy" or relaxing about the one feature designed for being just that. There is a small kid area, but designed more for toddlers. If you have an older kid thats still under 48", theres really nothing for them to enjoy other than the actual pool. It might be an okay place if its right next door and could be treated like your community pool, but I wouldnt go there again as a destination. It was also extremely crowded on a Tuesday, but the parking lot wasnt even at 50% capacity. Im glad I dont know ow what its like on a weekend.

We love Splashdown! Yes, its small. Yes, its a little old. Its just a ton of fun though. Its oddly placed, tucked back in a neighborhood where you wouldnt expect to find it, but there is a wide variety of rides to please everyone. Its great that they allow smaller kids to use a life jacket to be able to ride the larger rides (minus the canonball). The lazy river can get a bit too busy at times. They really could use a 2nd entrance to avoid the awkward entrances. The food is, of course, over priced... but not any more overpriced then other amusement park venues. My only complaint would be ride length. They could do more to speed up the lines, but they err on the side of caution. It seems a little overly cautious, but they must have their reasons.

This is a decent low budget, low cost waterpark. It is relatively inexpensive and you get what you pay for. It doesnt compare in any way to the water parks at Kings Dominion, Six Flags, Water Country USA, etc. so dont expect that. However, for $15 it is not a bad deal and it is convenient to those living in the DC area. It is one step above a county-run waterpark. It is mostly geared for kids, and families with kids 9 years old and under. There are only two water slides that are for older kids and grown ups. It is starting to show its age and hopefully the owners have the resources to do some much needed maintenance and updates on the facility.

The "party coordinator" really didnt do anything. I was left to lug ice and coolers in and out of the park (there is no designated parking for persons hosting a party). I had to chase her down to get refills on the juice containers and have her bring the food out on time. The kids enjoyed it but the parents who attended the party commented on the lack of customer service and disorganization when attempting to sign in for the party. Would I go back again yes...would I have another party there NO!

Unfortunately their webpage doesnt reflect their hours. We got here at 11 based in the website only to find out that they dont open till noon. At least a hundred other people are in the same boat. The park ranger yelled at us for showing up earlly. When he realized that we all werent lying, he said there was nothing he could do. He wasnt even empowered to call and suggest that they fix the website. I hope its worth it when they finally open.

Pool was pretty good other then it not being clean. It gets crowded fast so i recommend getting there early to get a close parking spot and a couple chairs inside the water park as they do get taking fast. They should allow outside food and drinks as some of there food prices are ridiculous as much as it cost to get in a person, that should be a option to bringing ur own food n drinks.

We like water rides where you use a tube. There was one slide like that, which we rode over and over again. The lazy river was nice too. And we swam for a while in the large pool. I liked that the lines were really short compared to other water parks. Most times there were only about 3-5 people ahead of us so we could ride a lot without much waiting.

It was nice to go around the lazy river, my girlfriend got it easier later on to swim. Food was OK I mean funnels, sandwiches oh by the way our chicken sandwich came without lettuce and tomato. Next time I will buy my tickets online as the line might take 10to 15 mins to get tickets. Overall a nice experience. Estuvo superbuenazo

We only were in the kiddie area, but it suited our 2 year grandsons interest just fine. It had 3 small waterslides, a small rope climbing part, and little fountains. It was easy to watch him here and he never got into any questionable situations. Park was clean. We will go back again. Appreciated the reduced rate at 3 p.m.
