This is a crummy chain theater in decline/disrepair. The prices would be considered fair if it werent for all the broken seats, dim projectors, nasty screens and flickering lights during the film. Both times Ive been weve had to hunt the theater for chairs that you dont slide out of, no joke...and even the not broken ones are very cheap and uncomfortable. Both theaters Ive been in have had VERY dim projectors (which means they are trying to save money on the price of bulbs by keeping them very, very dim) which wouldnt be the biggest deal if it werent for the DISGUSTING screens--were talking hand prints, stains, dust, black spots, etc. Seeing a 3D movie (that tends to be dimmer than a regular movie anyway) on one of these nasty screens was unbearable to the point that we just got up and left. On top of it all, both theaters Ive been to have had flickering/malfunctioning lights. Both times Ive had to ask for them to shut it off and only once were they actually able to shut it off. With movies coming out on digital/dvd about 3 months after theaters I see absolutely no reason to come back to this theater, no matter how badly I want to see the movie.

Gross theater. Broken seats, screens are so trashed with holes and stains you cant even see the movie. They dont clean the theaters between screenings, theres always food all over the theaters floors/seats. Half the theaters have flickering lights. Bathrooms are always trashed AND you can hear the toilets flushing if youre in one of the theaters near the bathroom. The popcorn tastes like it was popped weeks ago. On top ofmit all the movies start 15 min later then the show times listed somyou have to sit through corporate commercials...even if you get there late. This is the 4th time Ive been and everytime its SOMEHOW been worse then the last. Its so crappy that Im just not going to go to the movies anymore, which sucks. Rutland needs a new theater BADLY!!

The cinema formerly known as Plaza Movieplex 9 is under new ownership, and is now known as Flagship Cinema. It re-opened in December 2009 with a new Digital 3D theater featuring Digital Surround Sound, just in time for "Avatar". So, if you havent visited in a while you may want to give it another try. The lobby has been repainted, has a new concession stand, some of the seats have been replaced (maybe all of them by this review), the sound system has improved, everything is much cleaner, and service is much better.. You can even order tickets online via the website. Ill give it five stars when they start booking arthouse film. Otherwise, I have been quite happy that the closest cinema within driving distance is new and improved!

This theater does not adhere to ADA guidelines by proving listening devices for Hearing Impaired persons. Whats more- they dont care. Completely unapologetic about it. This is problematic for a number of reasons. Often the volume is on the low side. Apparently this is because one can hear the movie playing in the next theater. When asked to turn to turn it up, they say they will, but there is negligible difference. Also- being able to hear the movie in the next theater is very distracting and makes it difficult to concentrate on the movie you are watching.

They cancelled my showing of Alien: Covenant, because they delayed the start of the previous screening. They didnt let me know until I was at the theater (I had purchased my ticket online) plus they didnt even update their website. They could have had my screenings start slightly delayed as well (that would be understandable), but they just outright cancelled it. Plus, the staff acted haughty and arrogant when they explained the situation to me. Go to the cinema in Manchester or Bennington instead, at the very least those two have friendlier staff.

Its frustrating to be a movie fan in the Rutland area. This is the only real option and its honestly a really poor experience. There are always issues with video being too dark on 2D films and the audio for the pictures is just bad to inaudible at times. The seats in this theater are also old and honestly uncomfortable. The service is the one positive. The employees are friendly and happy to help. Overall this is not a premium experience and I would rather wait for a video to come out on DVD then watch it here.

I TOOK MY 5 YEAR OLD SON TO A MATINEE THIS PAST WEEKEND. FIRST TIME UNDER THE NEW MAGAMENT, AND WOOOOW!!!! $20.00 FOR ONE ADULT AND A 5 YEAR OLD TO SEE A SATURDAY MOVIE… GRANT IT WAS IN 3D BUT COME ON PEOPLE, IN A PLACE THAT WAS DIRTY, FLOORS COVORED IN POPCORN AND CANDY WRAPPERS. SO NOT WORTH A DAY OUT, WE COULD HAVE HAD DINNER OUT AND RENTED A MOVIE FOR LESS THEN THE PRICE OF A MATINEE AT THE RUTLAND CINEMA.

Went to see Kong 9 days after the release so that I could use my fundraiser booklet for the free ticket. I got there and they wouldnt let me use it because it has to be 14 days for that one specific movie. Would have been wonderful to know that before I got there, or had they follow the written rules on the back of the booklet.

Depending on which theater your in, seats feel like your slipping down. Fund raiser movie passes are not taken when shows first come out, what good are day 14 days later. maybe sell hot food (pizza, hot dogs, or pretzels). Being the only movie theatre in town, put some money into it will be great.

After spending $17.00 on tickets one would hope that the theater would not have a horrible smell and caution tape set up. The seats are ripped and well I was a bit worried to sit in them. The prices are just outrageous for such a run down theater. Will just opt to stay home next time.

Filthy bathrooms, dirty torn broken seats, old prepopped corn, small theaters-shamefully disgusting place that is desperately in need of cleaning and renovation but is the only game in town. I dont think anything has been updated since it was first built.

The theater is far better than when it was Plaza Movieplex. Were still waiting for stadium seating, and a couple of individual theaters are still in need of freshening. Still, for the few entertainment choices we have, this is an acceptable diversion.

For being the only movie theater in town, they have the greatest discounts. They even offer military discounts. Its clean and great screens. The only thing I have a problem with is the sound. It could be a little louder.

For Vermont, it is more of what I expect a movie theater to be than most area theaters AND their prices for children are better than expected. I feel like Im in a real theater, not someones living room.

The movie was fine. People were nice. Theatre clean. Popcorn butter area was a mess. Kept hearing flushing throughout the entire movie- other customers were talking about it. Disappointing...

Extremely uncomfortable seats. Bathrooms needed a good cleaning. Even had to remind them to start the movie after it was ten minutes late to start. Would not recommend.
