Main Event Entertainment in Frisco, Texas, is a multi-activity entertainment center offering bowling, arcade games, and laser tag. However, based on customer reviews, the quality of service, accessibility, and pricing leave much to be desired. The only positively reviewed activity was bowling, but even that came with a high price tag. The arcade was outdated, and the laser tag equipment was unreliable. Food service was slow, and the establishment's policy on firearms was a point of contention for some. Overall, the reviews suggest that there are several areas for improvement.

This review is for a birthday party that I had here for my daughter. TLDR it was a severe waste of money and the staff here did their best to ruin it. The problems started a few days before the party when I decided to add some food orders on to the party so the adults would have something to eat. I ordered a tex-mex dip appetizer, cheese/fruit flatter, and a pizza. They sent me a new invoice and where that should have raised the price by $50 (which is already too much for just those 3 bits of food), it instead raised the price by $70. I asked how they account for the rest of it and they said its from taxes and service fees. Looking at the contract, I see that theres a 12% service charge and an 18% service charge. I asked if theyre really going to charge me two different service charges for the same thing. The said that was a mistake and eliminated one of the service charges, which brought the total down by $2. I dont understand how there can be a "service charge" when theyre already charging me per person for each guest, plus the cost of food. They told me to arrive 15 minutes early. We arrived exactly 15 minutes early and were told that the room isnt ready yet and to wait in the entrance. We stood there holding our cake and party favors. We waited and waited and waited and waited. Our guests started arriving and they still had not let us into the party room. I asked the person at the front what were waiting for and she said we have to wait for the party host to come get us. I told her to go get the party host and get things moving. After some more inexplicable waiting, the party host slowly walked over to us. Rather than let us into the party room, she decided this was a good time to try to alter our party schedule. As more guests started showing up and standing there, I told her were not changing our party schedule and asked that we be let into the room so we can put our cake down. Finally we were allowed into the party room so we could get setup. After standing there for 15 minutes doing nothing. This is how the rest of the party would go - standing around doing nothing and waiting for our party host while the time ticked down. All of the kids were given a card with $5 on it. I took the birthday girl to the arcade to play a game and was stunned to see that the games were all around $1.50 - $2.00. Some of those $2 games werent really games, they were more like some kind of gambling game that ate your money and flashed lights for 3 seconds and then nothing. Divide the $5 on the card by the average cost of the games and you can see the problem - each card had enough money on it for each kid to play 2 games. I immediately felt embarrassed and panicked at the prospect of a bunch of kids here for a party with nothing to do, while their parents were left having to pay $25 or more for their kids to have something to do until the laser tag game started. The parents must think Im some kind of cheapskate for having put them in this position, but I really had no idea that this place was such a steep ripoff. Whats the point in even giving out $5 cards when thats only enough to play two games? I spent most of the rest of the time waiting for our party host to emerge while the kids stood around, bored, waiting for her to appear with food, drinks, plates, etc, all of which took her an eternity and had to ask for the same thing over and over and over. The party host spent so long getting our food together that there was no time leftover after we had the cake for the kids to play more games, which is good because like I said before, the games were a rip off and they didnt provide enough money on the cards for the kids to play anything. All told, it was a hugely embarrassing disappointment and I had to keep apologizing to the kids and parents for everything that kept going wrong and for them to having to spend so much money on the arcade games.

Cheap Ripoff. Thats one of the things I can say about this place. We (mother and brother) tried about everything before we decided thats this place is a not worth ever comething back too. Lets start off with the only this we limed about our experience, the bowling was fun cool looking lanes with big projectors and music with bar tenders serving you drinks. Then we sat down to get some food. Besides the bar tender who was looking like the only person serving and helping an entire resteraunt worth of people, we were there for 1 hour and 37 minutes waiting for food and by the time it got there it was cold. Strike 1. Next the person that actually decided to help us was the manager that kept throwing excusses at us instead of giving us good servise (ive worked in the food servise buisness for years) Stike 2. Then we go to the arcade to at least sooth out poor taste in the place. What can i say im a video game enthusiast and this felt like I was in an old arcade back in 2005 the prizes were from old cd players to outdated video games for the ps2. Then we try laser tag. Ut was fun to the point were both me and my brothers vests broke....might just be a bad luck night but nothing was done to fix it. I told them about it and they didnt even give me another game. Strike 3. Im never going back to this place we spent to much money trying to make this visit great and it was all in all a disaster. It gets 2 stars for good bowling. But even that its 50 bucks for 1 hour?! DONT GO HERE GO SOMEWHERE ELTS ANYWHERE!!! This is my warning.

Too risky here. 1 star because this company is one of the few that think theyre being politically correct by denying their patrons their constitutional right to bear arms. They think theyre making their place of business safe by making it a gun free zone. They dont understand that theyre only keeping out the law bidding citizens from entering this place of business. Only citizens or a person of legal status with a license to carry have gone through an extensive background check, a competence test and an exam of understanding the laws can carry a concealed firearm. I can only think of 4 places that deny licence to carry from entering and this is one of them. I can understand a business wouldnt want a person to open carry a weapon inside their establishment but conceal carry is different, its out of sight out of mind. They unwittingly deny Americans their 2nd amendment rights, they deny Americans the ability from protecting themselves and their families and others around them from being victims. Hey exces, take down the 30.06 sign and only hang the 30.07 sign. Main Event doesnt realize that theyre one of the very very few that keep law biding citizens from entering their place of business. Youre safer going somewhere else. Too risky here. I spoke with the manager Stephanie was very rude and wouldnt even listen consider going to upper executives about removing the 30.06 sign.
