Good local shop. I read the review from Suzzane about the owner not being as kid friendly as she would have liked. Well, my wife and I are constantly being disturbed and put upon by kids that are left to "free range" around restaurants, stores, movies and other places we go. They run around, scream, holler, and act like they have no parental controls on them at all--after all theyre just being kids! Yes, they are being kids who are being taught to have no respect for other people, their property or their rights to enjoy their environment. Were all suppose to rollover for other peoples kids because the cultural message here is kids rank above everything else. Really, We raised our kids to respect other peoples rights. If we took them to a restaurant and they couldnt act reasonably sane, we left. We didnt threaten to leave ten times, we left. We only had to do that a couple of times and they figured out we meant what we said. The train shop has a lot of expensive stuff in it. I dont blame the owner for not wanting it destroyed by "free range" kids. Im sure the mother would have whipped out the wallet and simply paid for any loses. Bet me! I see kids at car shows jumping all over the cars, pushing every button, pulling on every knob and treating the car like a ride at Disneyland. Ive even seen parents encourage the behavior as if its learning time at the science museum. Those are expensive cars and the dealers have to fix any damage at their expense before they can sell the car! Wheres mommy and daddy when it comes time to pony up for the kid thrashing the car takes at the show. Kids should be left a home, not dragged around a car show as if its the zoo. Too many parents lack any kind of sense these days.

Went into the place and thought is was pretty cool. Had a budget of 3k to get an entire set. Went to the back with my kid and he enjoyed everything until we took the train ride. The dude that runs the rides in the back was so rude, he was in a big hurry and told my kid to stop talking. This place in the back is for kids, the dude really needs to learn social skills. What an A----hole. If all they want to do is collect cash and not answer questions or give the child an experience what are they good for. As far as the set up goes for this place it is cool. But I walked around the entire place and not one person for 20 minutes came up to me to help out. Bad experience, but it is cool place inside, but will not come back ever again. When your rude to children you lose business for life.

I enjoy frequenting this local store being model railroad enthusiast - I was in yesterday and this is a family friendly store - the fat owner perched on the seat behind the sales counter, kept yelling at this 6 year old boy that was touching the trains that were out on a table setup. If you are going to be a family store - if you dont want children to touch something you put at their eye level, then you arent oriented as you allege. Yes, I was in dismay that each time you yelled at the boy, his mom just kept letting him do it, but come on really!!! This is not a family friendly store - and the two main owners are snotty crabby guys! Be prepared for no customer service when you go in to shop!

We go to this train store at least 2 or 3 times a year and have always had a great time. This train store is not just for shopping, in the back they have a dozen or so trains that kids can control and also have a LiveSteam train that the kids can ride. They are constantly adding new features to the play area. You can also reserve one of three rooms for parties. We went there during the christmas season and Santa and Mrs. Claus were there to greet the kids. My girls loved it. They also have very competitive prices on many of the products they carry.

This is a cool little shop for trains and accessories, but also has trains / old west games and rides (scenic train ride and mine cart) in the back. There are also a few different little themed rooms for birthday parties (saloon, jail, barber, etc). You can also pay a quarter/token to control a variety of model trains speed, lights, and sounds for several minutes. Perfect for toddlers / young children, we had fun.

My sons and I went here to check it out, and were pleasantly surprised. They have an area at the back of the store that allows you to control the trains on display for tokens. They have a small play area with some rides to ride, and a large scale train that you can ride through their area theyve created. My 5 year old, and my 11 year old both had fun.

Always hit the Train Shoppe before Thanksgiving. We have to get new cars or scenery for our Christmas train set that goes all around the living room. Never been disappointe by their quality items and reasonable prices. Selection is awesome. Usually come home with more than I planed, because i found a great deal. Thanks guys!

This place is amazing and I never even knew it existed. They have 2 small dark rides that my daughter loved and some kiddie rides. They also have a lot of cool model trains that you can control the speed and lights. It was really fun and reasonably priced. Plus the staff is super friendly. I cant recommend this enough.

This shop is a must see for any age and cant wait to take my kids there.my wife fell and hurt her ankle and they were so sweet to hunt down an ice pack and help. Truly amazing caring staff. Hidden Gem! This place on the front looks to be just a train shop. Go through to the back and its an amazing little town, lots of trains to watch and some to ride! The shooting gallery is lots of fun and they have additional rooms for parties, check it out! You wont be disappointed.

Do you like trains? If no, skip this place as it has nothing for you. But if you even have a mild interest in trains take the time and look at the models. Its easy to get sucked in so make sure you either have a good budget set up, or are prepared to say no, it wont be cheap.

This place is great! It hard to believe they pack so much into such a small place. The kids had fun. When the youngest was afraid to ride the train, the guy running the train took time to turn up the lights and show him around so he would not be afraid.
