I was recently at Boondocks Fun Center for a healthy night of family fun. After a long night nothing feels better to unwind than getting pistol whipped in the face by an 8 year old while playing laser tag. After my third 16 dollar cocktail which most people refer to as Miller Lite. I was eagerly anticipating seeing "Jimmy" my favorite Boondocks employee. Jimmy was nowhere to be seen, probably out with his boy Joe making spectacles. After the safety blanket of Jimmy had been stripped off, in a moment of quiet desperation I met my ultimate nemesis "Alex." - A side story about Alex who is a 16-18 year old male whose job antics are reminiscent of cold war Stalin if Stalin was a bad guy. Maybe a summer job for a high school youth? Maybe a determined employees eek to the top of cooperate conglomerate we know only as Boondocks Family Fun Center. Careful Alex, its lonely at the top. Anyways down to the business, Im not here to give life lessons, Im merely here to tell a cautionary tale. After taking out a second mortgage to pay for a friendly game of Laser tag, we began walking up to the laser tag line. Unfortunately our group didnt realize that we were walking into which will only be referred to as the "Trail of Beers"- Very similar to the 19th century "Trail of Tears" except we didnt deserve what was coming to us. As we eagerly waited for our match to start Alex not only introduced himself as the villain, but also as the antihero by pointing out the excessively strict "NO DRINKS PAST THIS POINT" policy. Geez Alex, cant a guy unwind after a solid 8 at a real job? Alex smelled the sweet stench that is fun and Miller Lite radiating from our group. Instead of choosing to embrace this, he met it with heavy opposition. Alexs first act as Fuhrer of Boondocks was to make us endure a 5 minute instructional video. I didnt learn anything from this video and neither did my group! I was too busy covering my vest sensors with black duct tape to pay attention to this silly video. I mean seriously trigger fires gun, hand=karate chop, and fist+8yearolds face=K.O. These are elementary concepts that are not hard to grasp. Meanwhile, Alex was barking orders at our group "PUT YOUR VEST ON RIGHT" and "PUT OUT YOUR CIGGARETTE" and his best line "YOUR BUTT LOOKS GREAT IN THOSE PANTS!" Come on Alex hes only eight years old. After Alex finally let us into the arena he continued to bark even more orders like; "STOP RUNNING INTO STUFF" and "PUT YOUR PANTS BACK ON" and not to mention freaking out about all the cigarettes. Come on Alex I had an ashtray at the base. After 45 seconds of the most violent game of laser tag ever played, Hitle..........I mean Alex decided to terminate the game. Which is fair, it got out of control and Alex panicked. I tell you though, that those boys overseas arent dropping bunker busters into remote farming villages so that my laser tag game can be cut short by a left winger like Alex. In Alexs defense we did have a black guy with us and Alex wanted to retain his monopoly on the jukebox so that it would only play Counting Crows, Creed, and Lady GaGa. Which is fair but he didnt anticipate that Cory (our black friend) brought his Poker Face. As we argued the unjustified calling of the match with Alexs shift manager whose name eludes me because he was so forgettable, Alex held his ground, but not in a George Zimmerman kind of fashion. Instead he tattled and he tattled hard...... As I realized that Alex had beaten me a cool wave of hatred, rage, and sexual tension flushed over me. So I did what I do best; I drove home, got even more blacked out drunk, then woke up this evening and wrote this review.

Have been there a few times for parties and just to take the kids. I wish there was another place like this around because this one is just bad customer service, bad set up and bad pricing for what you get. We went to take the kids for new years eve since it was so cold out and something they could do. Had to pay $10 for the 3 adults that were not and did not participate in any activity. There was no where to sit, we had to stand and hold our coats and drinks and whatever else we had while allowing the kids to play the games. We signed up for bowling and were told about an hour, an hour later told about 53 minutes, an hour later told 45 minutes, an hour later we were finally called, however the place would be closing in 20 minutes. they did a balloon drop that gave out coupons that expired that same day at midnight, did they not realize they were giving them away at midnight. While waiting to bowl, actually wanting to sit someplace and put our stuff down for awhile and that was the only way/place to sit, there were several open lanes, when we questioned it, we were told that whoever had it had time left even if they left so they couldnt put anyone on it. There were young kids running around and in the games, a couple were making out in one of the driving games. No one checked into this. In the beginning when we were kicked out of the dining area, we explained that our kids were not able to get in the lazer tag with the long line, we had no place to sit, the place was a mess and we wanted our money back and it was refused. The kids who run the place dont care and especially dont wnat to hear it and when referred to a manager, she was probably 18 and said couldnt help us. This past weekend, we took the kids again and i wonder why we keep going back. Teenagers are walking around making out, running into everyone, the food is bad, the prices are bad, they still have no seats for parents to sit. The owners and management need to go there on their own, not a bday party because they you have a seat, and find what a mess that place really is. my dghtr who is 11 is about a half-inch shorter than her sister, they wouldnt allow them both to ride the rookie track, only the shorter one and the other had to ride the slick track and wasnt comfortable with it. the younger one would have liked the faster so they could have moved one or the other either way, however, no, they wont and wont even consider what you are saying. ask the manager, problem is, you never can find one. Found a new place in boulder, going there next time.

Had a terrible experience there. My family and I just left there. Bought wristbands for all of us. $150. First we did the bumper boats since we figured we would dry off with the go carts... My daughter had never been, she is 5 and completely my world. We waited probably 45 minutes in line for the go carts after the boats. That entire time I was watching to see which two seaters were fastest cause she was so excited for us to win lol. That didnt work out and we didnt get the cart we wanted, no biggie. Took one lap in this cart and the engine was cutting off. I pulled up next to the exit and told these guys this thing was putting and backfiring and in bad shape. They didnt care. So we continued with this cart that I could run faster than. Got lapped by everyone about 3 or 4 times! I was kinda pissed. These kids working there did not care. At all. Then went inside for laser tag and waited 2 hours for my daughter to get a "laser gun" that didnt work. They didnt care, at all. So I came down from Wyoming and spent $150 to tell this place their equipment is GARBAGE and disappoint my daughter because the employees were rude and wouldnt make things right.. OH to top it off.. The "coin exchanger" ate $20. Thats when I said I had enough and decided we were wasting time and money there. Too many people, lines were all super long, staff was rude and the place was just a disappoint me. I will be telling people this place sucks. For Management- tell these KIDS you have working there to make things right for the customers. We pay good money for a good or fun experience, not this. Also this was the Northglenn, co location... Super bummed for all three of my kids and to say we wont be returning!
