My review of: Flipside I was impressed by the cleanness of this place. There are so many bowling lanes. forget regular bowling allies, you want to come to Flipside. Comfortable couches, and low tables, good food and exciting music make this the best place for hanging out with your buddies. The cafe offers great food. It may seem overpriced but the stone oven cooked pizza we had was good quality of cheese that was very chewy stringy and very filling. In the back there are pool tables and in a separate room are kid bowling lanes. So grownup s are not interrupted by child shrieks or the banging of improperly thrown balls. Most of the arcade games will earn you paperless tickets that accumulate on your game card. You can cash them in for prizes at the "Redemption" shop. Yes the name of the prize station is "Redemption". I love that they have named it that. There are 2 card readers (one in the center of the games and one by the Redemption shop) so you can check your card balance for ticket count and game money. There is a laser maze, which is a small one room with different levels of difficulty with targets you need to press while avoiding the laser beams. One the beam is broken it deactivates. There are Crash pods that are like bumper cars, air hockey tables, laser tag, and the incredible 3 story netted play area. What made this play area so awesome is the foam balls and what you can do with them. There are several vacuum machines that sill suck up the foam balls and can either throw them up into the air like an endless fountain, stack up in a cage that can then be booby trapped to dump on an unsuspecting person, or fired from air guns on the upper levels at targets on the opposite walls, each level has obstacles to go through and 2 different kinds of slides to zip down on. We got the play package that lets us go on only 6 attractions and puts $3 on our game cards. And we were there for 5 hours of fun. Since this is AZ we often only wear sandals. The attractions require socks and close toed shoes. At no extra cost they lent us bowling shoes but we needed to purchased socks at $2 a pair.

If you’re tired and disgusted by of all the usual dirty, out dated and worn family fun centers then head to Flipside. I just took my 6 year old daughter for father’s day and we had an amazing time. The inside was modern, spacious and inviting. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. Between the bowling, mini bowling, pool tables, arcade, bumper cars, blast pad, and lazer tag there’s something for everyone. Bowling at night was pretty cosmic with all the neon and black lighting. They have auto bumpers for children that automatically go up when your children bowl and go back down when the adults bowl, though I did see some adults using them. The bumper cars were really fun, even my very small daughter was able to drive one herself. The bumpers on the cars themselves are very soft so you don’t get the jarring whiplash feeling. I was hesitant about getting food at a place like this from past experiences. Luckily my little one was hungry and I caved in to her request. Thankfully the food turned out to be great. My daughter had a kid’s meal and I chose a double cheese burger which turned out to be huge. I was expecting two thin patties but they turned out to be thick and pretty juicy. Certainly an added plus is that they’ll bring your order directly to your bowling lane. I felt the prices were not bad considering the attractions, cleanliness, and the package deals, like the 23 dollar unlimited attractions, which helps. Each person receives a card, like a hotel key card, that you preload and swipe for the attractions, and arcade. No more cramming tickets into your pockets as the card automatically keeps track of your tickets. You’ll have to pre-load the card to play the arcade games. They were a little on the high side, but the games weren’t out dated either. We will undoubtedly be back.

This review is from my daughters birthday experience. Recently my daughter had her 5th birthday party here. The Good: The room is pre-decorated and they allow you to add your themed decorations to make the party room your own. The staff will assist you with decorating 20 minutes prior to the party. The pizza tastes good (not great). Youre allowed to bring your own cake. The ball pit pay area saved the party,so thats good. The Bad: The pitchers of beverages you purchase for the party are for the kids only. Do the parents / adults dare get thirsty? That will be an extra 3 dollars per person for an additional cup. The servers clearly dont understand that a four year old does not need a square mile of cake. We purchased a full sheet cake. 3/4ths of the cake was thrown into the trash because they put HUGE slices of cake on all the plates. If youre buying an expensive cake, this will put you in a bad mood real quick. Word from the wise, cut the cake yourself and serve it if you want left overs to take home. The Ugly One word: RUSHED! You get exactly one hour in the party room. Play a game, eat the pizza, barely finish that, sing the song, cut the HUGE slices of cake, throw it all away, open the presents and get evicted from the room. Why? Because they have 30 minutes to clean to do it to the next sucker. Game cards per kid is $10.00. Thats fine, expect most games are $2.00 to play. Yeah, you get 5 minutes of fun. This wouldnt be an issue except the money paid for the party was WAY too much to only give them 5 games to play. I wont be going back there for birthday parties, but potentially to bowl. The lanes looked good and that part was packed. I hope your venture is better.

We bought 2 passes for unlimited bowling today. I was told that the only reason it wouldnt be unlimited was if they were on a wait and they would ask us to bowl in 1 hour increments. 1 hour later, we were into the 4th frame of or 3rd hour, with plenty of lanes open, and our game shut off and the screen told us to contact the control desk. I go up to the desk, and hear them assigning our lane to another group. When I asked about this, the guy told us that they didnt know we were on the lane and they would add time, but I told them it was pointless because they just assigned a new group to our lane. The offered us no explanation other than our lane was shut off completely because they didnt know we were there, and they obviously were not on a wait (2 lanes next to us were empty). On top of that, we had to ask for a server because no one came to our lane after us being there for 20 minutes. saw multiple employees congregating instead of coming over to serve us. Not worth the price if they are just going to shut the lane off on you in the middle of a game with no timer warning.

I would never recommend this place for a party , my little cousin Giannis 12th birthday party was very unsatisfying. When we first walked in, there were no decorations on his table. Had this been explained before, we would have provided it but seeing the party package was over 200$, it should have been provided . Secondly it is very rude for staff to bring out the check before the party had even begun and said "The bill needs to be paid before any cards or pizza is handed out" . Thirdly the party package does not include any bowling you have to pay $45 on top of your $50 deposit on top of the additional $170 for the party package and it only uncludes 6 of your 10+ party kids. They also started the bowling while kids were eating and still had to get the shoes and in the middle of their game it cut off because their hour was up very dissapointing for the kids. The cards that are given to the kids for the hour of fun play does not include any arcarde games and once you swipe your card time starts and does not stop . All in all very unsatisfied experience for both kids and adults.
