I think I can put 2 and 2 together here. Hmm... seems like weve got quite a few reviews that all read verbatim about this haunted house relying on animatronics too much instead of actors. Could these be reviews from people who possibly work at a competing haunted house that prides itself in not using any animatronics? Just plain dirty business there. Heres an honest review from someone whos been to enough Haunted Houses to be able to sort out the good from the bad. With the $5 off coupons from Maverick, $15 is a good deal for the show that you get. In previous years you had to pay extra for the Extreme attraction. Now that this part of the Haunted House is included with admission you are definitely getting your monies worth. The cornerstone of this haunt really is the fact that they have entertainment going while you wait in line. While the theater show is a little cheesy they have an effect involving a door that is pretty awesome (dont want to give away too many spoilers.) The set detail almost rivals that of Rocky Point when it was in its glory days. I particularly like the Vampire cave this year. As for the actors. My trip lead me to believe that they have a good core group of actors that really put forth a solid effort. Sadly I did come across the occasional actor who didnt seem comfortable in their role or it was too obvious that they were not having a good time. In particular I liked the actor in the slanted room who wanted to buy my wife from me and stated that she had that "new wife smell." While they do have some really impressive makeup, the costumes themselves Id have to say were the low point. I could tell a few were being held together by safety pins and they could probably do better than masks that look like they were picked up at a Wal-mart clearance sale for the guys who jump out at you in the dark and wet rooms. In my honest opinion Id say that this haunt is like the Hollywood blockbuster horror film. A little cheesy at parts, a good mix of humor thrown in so that its not just stupid crap jumping out at you every corner you turn, quite a bit of eye candy, and well executed scares when stuff does jump out at you. Other haunted houses in the area seem more like the student film that takes itself way too seriously and left me rolling my eyes at stuff that is trying too hard to be scary. My advise, go during the week to avoid the long lines and to avoid feeling rushed. Also use discretion in bringing the kids. I know this place is advertised as family friendly, but it would still probably carry a PG-13 rating.

I have to say I am completely disappointed with this haunted house. If anyone is reading this I urge you to reconsider going here if the following does not sound appealing. I was super excited to finally make it out to a haunted house this year as I have not been for years. I researched online to get reviews prior to going since I was only going to make it out once. In the past I have enjoyed this haunted house and reviews show this place as being very good. WOW I dont know who is rating this place...maybe employees??? The price is pretty standard for many haunted houses, but that price is ridiculous. I guarantee you will not get your moneys worth or anywhere close, but I know people will go anyway as I did since they like to be scared. I honestly would not pay more than $10 for that ever again, so I imagine I will not be back unless something changes. When I researched this place the negatives were that the lines were long and that they push people in so fast that you are basically being herded like cattle. That is completely the truth. I took this into account as even the manager/owner replied and said to go during the week. So I went on a Wednesday with not too long of a line. But they basically push people in so quickly it is basically a line going through each room. I actually had numerous rooms where the line was not even moving and we had to stand there forever and wait. I was not scared once as I could see everything happening in front of me before I got there. I was bored out of my mind. I have never been to such a terrible haunted house experience in my entire life. The workers are not the same as they used to be by actually holding you up and making it fun/scary. They just jump out really quick and then hide again. They used to interact which was awesome. The only reason why I gave this place 2 stars instead of 0 if possible is because they did spend great time and resources with the visual experience. The rooms looked well thought out, but unfortunately I was not able to experience them first hand since waiting in line I could see the next room before I got there. Going during the week does not help at all with this I GUARANTEE IT... the only help is not waiting in line for 3 hours to get in. I cant even begin to express how disappointed I was. I will definitely not be back unless those things change. I will definitely recommend everyone I talk with to go somewhere else in the future.

Terrible crowd control! I went two nights ago with some of my friends and Ill probably never go back again. We bought VIP passes online which really seemed to help us get in there faster, but the fact that the line was already moving really fast ended up absolutely ruining everything. The lady letting people in only waited 5-10 seconds before she let the next group in so the whole time we were in there we were walking into rooms just as the actors were trying to scare the group in front of us or going back to their spots to try and scare us. Most of the time, they would just pop out, scream right in my ear, and then walk back. We didnt feel at all like the actors really cared about their jobs or were really that into it. Then the whole second half of it we were in a huge line of people about 50-75 long following each other. We tried stopping at time to help space it out but we got rushed a couple times from people telling us to hurry up and keep on moving. This place definitely gave us the feeling that they cared much more about taking our money and rushing people through as fast as they possibly could to make as much money as they could. This place has a lot of potential, but I think I only jumped like twice the whole time I was in there. There was absolutely no magic or excitement in there. My friend even got shoved and got elbowed hard in his shoulder by one of the cast members dressed up as Jason. When we tried talking about it with another actor he simply said sorry and walked away. We talked about it with one of the workers as we finished and pretty much got the same treatment. There was even a few times when I noticed an actor hiding somewhere and started staring at them and they didnt do anything. They just sat there and tried to act like they were a dummy or something even though I could see their eyes moving and blinking. There were some of them that were just casually walking around like they were taking a stroll in the park or something, not really paying attention to anything or anyone. Bottom line: get ready to be herded through there like cattle as fast as they can get ya with actors that dont try very hard to scare you plus the fact that you already know where they are cause you just saw them attempting to scare the group in front of you. Best haunted house in Utah... yeah right!
