The owner is VERY informative and very helpful. I just started my tank 3 weeks ago and have been back to this store just about every weekend since. I (so far) have purchased a total of 7 fish from here and all of them have been perfectly healthy. I did have one die last week due to it getting Ich, but i had already had that particular fish for 2 weeks, so i do not think it had anything to do with the actual store just an unfortunate thing to happen. However, i went into the store the next day to have them test my water, and to look at the picture of the fish that i believed to have Ich to confirm that was what happened to him. They had no problem helping me and telling me that it was indeed Ich and told me all the information i needed to know to get rid of the problem. So far no more casualties and I will be going back this weekend to purchase more fish.

Our first visit to Ultimate Fish was very pleasant-- the owner was very helpful and willing to explain the ins and outs of starting up a 55-gallon freshwater tank to us in detail. Our second visit, she was very busy and a little curt with us and our questions, but we let it slide because she was trying to stock and feed fish. The third visit, the store was empty of other customers or distractions and we were picking out rock and wood to put in our tank. Despite spending nearly $200, she was very rude and short with us at check-out and treated us like we were not worth her time. After that, we decided not to come back to Ultimate Fish-- there is no reason to be rude to paying customers! Well take our money to That Aquarium Place.

I dont know if these negative reviews are written by people that see joy in spewing negative energy, but I do not agree. I recently (3 weeks ago) bought two "Bleheri Rainbow" fish to startup a 10 gallon. I have not seen any sign of sickness at all, if not the healthiest fish I have seen. Also the people that reviewed their tanks are DIRTY is bologna. The water in the tank is crystal clear and the tanks look well cleaned. And another addition, the fish are beautiful. Keep it bubbly people! Ok, so I went back and got more fish to stock my new 10 Gallon. I bought a "Ropefish", and two "Powder Blue Dwarf Gouramis". Again the staff was extremely helpful and great prices for everything.

Stay far away from Ultimate Fish!!! I have purchased fish here on two occasions. The first time, was about eight years ago. I purchased eight fish for my 55 gallon tank. My tank had been set up for two years and was illness free. After the first day, (I made my purchase on a Saturday) half the new fish were dead. After the second day, half my orignal fish were dead and all the new fish were dead. I went in and told the owner, and he told me I was out of luck. His policy was 24 hours. Just recently, I decided to try Ultimate fish again. My 95 gallon tank after one week of adding his fish has been distroyed!!!! I will NEVER make the mistake of shopping at Ultimate Fish again.

Been doing business with ultimate fish for several years now. They have a very knowledgeable staff on both fw&sw. But the bread and butter comes from there extraordinary selection of Tanganyikian cichlids, best variety Ive seen in all of Houston. They will also give you store credit on fish trade- ins. They have even given a discount when I buy quantity, which helps when buying tanganyikians.lol Alex, Cassie and Bart are my most favorite people!

This place is great, I have a fairly new fish tank and Bart has been a huge help in making sure that I have compatible fish in addition to checking my water to make sure my levels are correct. All the fish that I have bought are healthy and were very affordable. If you are thinking of getting a tank I would recommend stopping by and talking to someone because they have everything you could possibly need to get started.

Ive been going to this store for over 10 years. Every now and then I drop by to say hello and look at the fish selection. This is a great place to buy rare cichlids and freshwater fish. They also have a good selection of aquarium and aquarium stands at fair prices.

Great store! Great owners! They are very knowledgeable and I have never had any issues with any fish I have brought. They are also very personable and they will tell you if a fish will work in your tank or not, they dont just try to sell without caring.

Nice aquarium shop with a big selection, could get a little more involved with saltwater but they have it none-the-less. Cichlid heaven for freshwater peeps. Very friendly staff, probably the best price for your fish on the north side of houston

The guys who sold us the fish were very knowledgeable. The fish selection was not enough and were a little overprice. Overall, the fish are healthy when added to the tank and energetic.
