NEVER, NEVER, NEVER shop at this location! They have completely messed up morals, they DO NOT care what so ever about the welfare of their animals, nor do they care about their customer and employees. The owner is HEARTLESS and only cares about money. Its so sad, and I regret ever walking into this location. I came into the store to look at the dogs they had and the employee that helped me told me that the dog I was interested in was $3700. I was first blown away by the amount and couldnt imagine why. Money wasnt the issue at all, but I wanted to make sure the dog was the right fit for my family. The employee kept bothering us, kept talking about money and would not allow us to get a chance to actually talk and bond with they dog. After coming to us several times, he dropped the price to $2500 and I was then concerned on how he could drop from the high price so easily. It immediately turned me off from the interaction. I wanted to leave because of how uncorftable it was. He finally took down our number because we were planning on coming back the next after thinking about it. When we were leaving the store, another employee ran out and was upset and told us to text them. After having a long conversation with the employee, we were told that the actual price of the dog was $1000, and that still included all of the insurance and the warranties and crates and toys. It was in total shock and then found out they employees MAKE COMPENSATION on their animal sales!!!!! How messed up is that! They are MARKING UP ANIMALS to make more money, they dont care where the dog goes, just whos going to pay the most. After I purchased the dog, the first employee called me on my personal phone and was harassing me, asking me what happened and what I paid and was refusing to listen to what I had to say! After the horrible experience, I called the next day to complain, and found out that the second employee that helped me was fired, and they PRAISED they other employee for trying to charge me over $3000 for a dog. I will NEVER in my life step foot back into that store! The owner is horrible is only worried about money! I would suggest NO ONE shops here!!!! Those poor animals deserve better...

Wish there was a 0 star option! I bought a kitten, she was $200 which was reasonable considering they say she had all her shots. Two days after taking her home she starts getting bald spots... Took her to the vet, ended up being ring worms!!! It takes a week for ring worms to come to the surface so where ever this kitten was, she was contaminated. I call up there asking for her papers because they never gave them to me, they said she was "too new to the store and they didnt have them and theyd send them when they got them" I called again a week later asking the same thing and a girl said I could bring her up to be microchipped scanned and maybe it would bring it all up. I go there and the manager says theyre not allowed to scan the cat that Id have to call a number to get what I want. Why microchip the animals if you arent allowed to scan them? Long story short, I call that number and she said to go there and they should of scanned her in the first place. I go up there AGAIN. They scan her, print out her papers, then I find out they partner with local shelters, and she was from a shelter and her vet record shot page is blank... I love adopting shelter animals but why the heck is pet land marking them up so high when theres no shots or anything! So the girl said shed call "the vet" the next day and email me the shot records.. Well here I am 2 weeks later still nothing and calling up there still! I want my cat to have shots so shell be healthy but if they were already done that could kill her with doubling up. Im beyond sick of Pet Land, stay away!

The only reason that I did not give this place a one star was because of the young woman that worked in the fish department and the other young woman that helped us towards the end of our visit. I went in to inquire about a Corgi and was immediately dismissed because apparently I had already been there earlier to ask about said puppy. This is my first time visiting Petland and my last. They had to find someone to get the puppy out of the kennel and while that was understandable, I was not impressed when the older woman just placed me and my friend in a play area and walked off. They only gave us a rag to help us play with puppy and did not stick around to ask if we had any questions. Second the puppy peed all over the floor and smeared it everywhere. I understand the puppy is young, but if he was in a kennel all day, shouldnt they have done that before bringing him to us. It also took a while to get the attention of a store employee that wasnt talking with another employee to get the puppy. Even the young woman that helped us was confused when she noticed the lack of toys. Like I said earlier, the only saving grace this place had was the young lady in the fish department. She explained to us about every fish we inquired about, explained to us the pros and cons of fresh water and salt water fish. Took our concerns into account and even explained how they can order a fish we were interested in. She was obviously very passionate about her work and it showed. The others, not so much. I will not be going back there.

Honestly Im just surprised by this place more than anything. I want to get my mother a Boston Terrier puppy, as shes had Boston Terriers all her life and her most recent one passed away. I found a relatively nice example at this stores website and gave them a phone call, as they are hundreds of miles away. They refused to give a price over the phone, or give a reason. Once in the store, the price was $2,500 for a dog with no papers that had clearly not been cleaned or played with recently, and looked underweight, but was starved for attention. This kind of approach to sales might work on the desperate or those who get so attached to an animal they make an emotional decision, but its really not a good way to compete for my business. The employees in the store were all very young and werent able to intelligently talk about the animal, which is not appropriate for such a large transaction. I recommend avoiding the place, and expect the price to be stratospheric. I do hope someone gets that poor dog out of this store as quickly as possible though. My gut feeling was that the sales tactics were sleazy and the markup was at least 300%. Reading the other reviews its pretty clear this is a consistent issue many folks have had. I would be very surprised if these were sourced in a manner any more ethical than anything else these yahoos are doing.

We drove 2 hours to purchase discus. When we got there the fish looked very sick. Discus are difficult to care for and I did see a sign that they were hiring for the fish section so I chalk that up to not having someone. No big deal. Then my wife sees a husky. He looks really sad and just laying there so we ask to meet him. Hes $1000 and the nice employee tells us about the financing. We apply and are approved. The employee didnt know much but was new so its understandable. I only took stars off of the review for the price gouging. We were approved for $2000. For the dog, the puppy pack, and a crate it came to $1950. What????? Then we see the kennel is $300. No thank you. They did nail us on the insurance. The employee stated that we would only have to use the required supplements for 3 months. I get home and read all of my paperwork. You must purchase the supplements for the lifetime. Ouch, thats gonna be expensive. To be fair, the financing is reasonable. For $1500 we pay under $80 a month and MOST of the staff was friendly. There was a young guy that was a smart ass and rolled his eyes when I spoke to him. Overall Im satisfied but theres room for improvement. Save your money and dont purchase the insurance unless you enjoy spending money on overpriced generic supplements for the lifetime of your dog.
