After reading the reviews about this place I was excited. The first visit I noticed a lot of dead fish in the tanks. I wandered around for a while and was never approached by a sales person. I bought a substrate that I was told would be fine for freshwater tanks. I later learned that it was not. When I returned it, they said that they could only give me a store credit. I accepted that. My credit was $48. When I got ready to buy fish I went there. I bought 2 electric blue rams and 2 angel rams, $34 worth. After I got them home and in my tank, I noticed that one of the angel rams had white spots and the other had very tattered fins. I called the store about this and was told that they did not have a return policy. So, now, Im stuck with these two possibly diseased fish and a possible infected tank and a $14 credit that I dont know what to do with. I dont know what all the good reviews were about, but I cant give any stars. Buyer beware. Be sure to ask about their return policy. They will sell sick fish. Oh, and btw, they are still stocking the "painted" glass fish. Shame on them. I went back in to the store to buy medicine for the sick fish they had sold me (see my previous review). I checked out the tank that the sick fish had come from. There were more fish with white spots and one dead one. Since my previous post, I lost one fish and the other is sick and being treated for Ich, but, it doesnt look good. Im very disappointed with this place.

I have recently moved to SE Texas, and the only fish selection I have to choose from is those at Petsmart...so needless to say I was excited to visit this place. I was very impressed at the quality and overall health of the fish. I didnt have much money on me, and I didnt anticipate purchasing anything that day, but I plan on going back when I have the chance. I also stopped by the Fish Gallery for the first time, and although it is quite fancy and some of the fish are quite nice, the customer service is not particularly great, considering there are so many employees, and the prices are much higher. Anyway, I hope to get back to Fish Land soon to make a few quality purchases for once! :)

Been there for at least 4 times. Cheapest price comparing to Fish gallery or citypet or anywhere in Houston. They have a good collection of salt water which is half price. They dont carry big size fish...Just the medium to small. Worth to check it out.....Of course, pick ur fish carefully wherever you buy. I usually spend 30 mins or more standing there in front of the tank to check the fish out completely...U may say im crazy..yes, but I never got any problems of dead fish from any fish store Fish pet Extreme, City Pet, Fish Pet unlimited, Aquarium World or Fish gallery...Spending time to pick the healthy fish and quarantine it 2 weeks at least before put it into my tank :)

One of the staff helped me and my friends set up a freshwater tank for a school project, and he never once tried to sell us on a particular fish. Whenever we had a question about compatibility, it seemed that he knew a great deal of information. The prices are competitive with Petsmart and Petco (Ive never been to The Fish Gallery). Every time that I have gone there has been new fish. If youre looking to start a tank salt or fresh I recommend going there and having them set you up.

We genuinely love coming to the fish store. I wish I could remember the gentlemans name that always helps us, but he is very kind and treats us like VIP. I am pretty sure they treat everyone like VIP. We have several Marine tanks and love picking out new Coral, fish, and invertebrates from this store. Its always a gamble with this type of hobby, but the vast majority of the time the purchases we make are healthy and continue to flourish.

Great prices and very knowledgeable staff. They did not hesitate to help me order a custom stand for my tank. Prices are super reasonable, and the stand was done in 3 days! Yes, 3 days. My setup looks great. We are currently in the process of ordering our second tank from them with another custom stand and I thought I should give them a review! The owner Andy is great and Austin is always super helpful too.

I really like coming to this LFS. Staff knows about the fish they sell. They really do have the best prices in town. Fish look great and healthy. Wide variety that is constantly changing due to selling the fish so fast. It is worth making the trip to the store at least twice a month to check out their new inventory. I am extremely satisfied with my experiences and with the fish I have bought here.

I bought a purple sea slug here assuming it was a filter feeder and got home to find out that these type of slugs only eat one specific kind of sponge that you can not buy. I called the store to find out why they wouldnt let me know that I had no chance at all of keeping it alive and he said "we dont know we had about 5 and they died". I had to tell him it was because he couldnt feed it.

Most knowledgeable and passionate saltwater fish store in the city. Great selection and prices and offers occasional specials/discounts at already low prices. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and look to make customers happy compared to others. If you have a tank and need a local fish store to shop at, this place is worth the drive no matter what side of town youre on.

Horrible, unfriendly and false information on fish. Over priced compared to many stores in the area. Have caught them asking for more than what the fish were selling for multiple times. Dont buy the saltwater for your tank, salinity is very high and will kill everything in your tank unless you check it prior which you shouldnt. Talk about a dissapointing store.

Really is the best near Houston. Staff is kind, prices are much more reasonable. When compared to its larger competitor, Fish Gallery, the difference is even more obvious with the Fishland staff being much more kind and open, as well as less likely to treat you like an idiot and rip you off. If you have the option, go here.

Just a heads up the oxygen in those bags is a flame accelerant... I had a cigarette ash touch one of the bags on my floorboard and they all went up in flames and burned me pretty good. Luckily before my whole truck caught on fire the oxygen dispersed and I was able to squeeze the burning plastic out with my fingers.

Went looking for a fish tank and stumbled upon the fish land store. I spoke to the owner of the store. This guy lacks 2 things 1. Wanting to keep a customer and 2. Wanting to make a sale. It leads me to believe that he is making to much money elsewhere or just doesnt care. It was my 1st time there and my last time.
